A really nice surprise, it was warm and cosy with interesting decoration and lots of interlocking rooms so that it achieved a very private feeling. The staff were attentive,  good natured and efficient and the menu tempting - we both had vegetarian dishes - mushroom cobbler and gnocci - both were delicious, hot and filling.

We'll be back!

We booked slightly conerned that there might be disturbing noise from the busy road..but absolutely delighted with how quiet the Grantham Arms is!   Both from inside and out!  
Staff welcomed us warmly and we were soon settled into our clean, well appointed, comfortable room for a four night stay.  
All our meals were a delight, the menu varied, catering for my dietry requirements perfectly.  Even better, coeliac was properly understood and Joe even provided extra GF breakfast cereal for me!
Friends who enjoy dining out where good food is available came to join us from Wetherby for one lunch, were equally impressed.  
The whole short break was excellent and we shall, all being well, look forward to staying again.

Perfectly located and perfectly looked after

5/5, we called in on Friday 8th March and couldn't have been happier with our  choice. 
Lovely setting with the friendliest, most helpful staff and amazing food.
Really nothing bad to say at all.

Impromptu visit, pleased we did

The Grantham arms itself was lovely. We had a problem with ladybirds in our room. We were quickly moved to a beautiful room. Nothing was too much trouble.  Staff were lovely and friendly and food was fabulous. Great choice of food and drink...

Great atmosphere and lovely staff..

We chose the Grantham Arms to stay because they are dog friendly. We were extremely impressed with the warm welcome and check in on arrival. We stayed room only, as we were meeting friends locally for dinner. Our room was perfect for us and our two dogs (Chihuahua & Pomeranian) and the ease of access for us with the dogs whilst outside of opening hours was great. Definitely recommend and will almost certainly stay here again.

Wonderful dog friendly accommodation

It is fair to say that the staff at this fairly unpretentious 'pub with rooms' were absolutely knockout.

We got better friendly, open, attentive service here than any hotel we have stayed at.

The young ladies that greeted us and served us on the evening and the waiter who served breakfast were all exceptional with nothing being too much trouble.

The food was also very good. The room was fairly small but very clean and with a comfortable bed.

Well worth a visit.

Exceptional staff.

We booked here to celebrate being together five years & loved it. Staff are brilliant, such a friendly kind bunch. The food is so tasty, though the burger was slightly disappointing but everything else including breakfast was so fresh & tasty. Our junior suite was beautiful, so tranquil, so spacious & perfect for our stay.

Carparking isn't ideal but other than that was excellent value for money. Thank you to all your team & we will be back, even if just for the Scotch Egg!!!! Lovely stay.

Anniversary Stay

This was our second stay at the Grantham arms. Parking was an issue, I have a disability and struggled to find somewhere, my husband dropped me off and moved the car later when a space became available. There are no disabled places and I did feel discriminated against. However this did not overshadow our stay and the room, Sunday lunch, service and breakfast more than made up for it.
The room we booked was beautiful and very comfortable and very clean. We had a longe area, a large bedroom and amazing bathroom.
We booked for Sunday lunch, the food was amazing and did not disappoint at all. The service was fantastic, we sat in the outdoor seating area and cannot recommend this enough. The breakfast was also amazing, served by a lovely young man, excellent choice of yogurts, fruit and cereal on offer. I had  Croissants, they were served warm and were delicious. My husband had the cooked breakfast, he said it was delicious.
We will return!

Stayed here for 2 nights and combined it with a visit to Ripon races, only 10 mins drive away. Our room was spotless, nicely decorated and furnished and with everything you needed for a pleasant stay. The pub downstairs was lovely with little cosy rooms and some interesting knickknacks, also lovely and clean. We ate here both nights and found the food to be very good, well cooked and well presented breakfast was excellent with an extensive menu as well as fresh fruit, cereal,yogurt and juice. The staff were all friendly, efficient and gave good service. I would recommend a visit here.

Great pub with rooms

Stayed at the Grantham Arms on a Monday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was huge with lovely bath and separate shower. The food on the evening was superb, both starters and main course. The next morning the full English breakfast was excellent quality and very tasty. I have to mention all the staff who were outstanding in every aspect. Simon, Joseph, Debs, Steve and all the rest were brilliant and made our stay so lovely. Would highly recommend this great place to stay and eat.
