This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! I would avoid it at all costs. We arrived as we were going to a family wedding, the bar door was boarded up and there were 2 a women who were clearly on drugs or alcohol sat outside. Not very friendly! We walked in and it was absolutley freezing! We were given our room key, and walking up to our room I felt uneasy and unsafe, the walls were covered in damp, there was a yogurt pot on a window sill which had mould inside thar had clearly been left, it was dark, dingy, and clearly outdated! The room smelt funny, the bathroom was dirty and  unhygienic. Black mould was on the walls, the extractor fan was coming off the ceiling and there was a hole in the bathroom door. The toilet was broken and that's all we heard all night! Someone had put tissue on the peep hole of the door from the inside, clearly felt unsafe.
There was some sort of ketchup or bbq sauce smearrd on the walls, the dresser was sticky. Just awful.
We woke up to screaming, shouting, banging and slamming. I did not feel safe, so we left as early as possible!
I have since found out, they are using the hotel as a halfway house for drug users and ex cons but still selling rooms to the public.

Mistake...😞

I made a mistake booking here (I can't call it a hotel).

NOT SAFE. NOT CLEAN and the list is long.

Its a place of some sort. 
Even a bad student accommodation used to be better and safer. 

I am unable recommend this "place" or any part of it and that's a very rare thing.  

Horrible stay and nothing to report back that's positive😞

SAFETY:  I came back to my room on the second night, and my room door was open. Domestics had been in whilst I was out and left the room open, and it remained open until my return at night time. I reported to reception, and all he was able to say is, "I am sorry about that". 

Cleanliness: Poor

Services (of any sort): non existent  (the restaurant/gym etc have been closed years apparently. 

Hot water: hit and miss

Noise: very noisy. 

Quality of the room: Poor

Radiator: does not work in the rooms (all the rooms as they admitted the next day).  When I checked in i was told the radiator would come on at some point but it never did. A temporary electric heater was in the room when I checked in and I was told to use it until the radiator is switched on from the mains. Needless to say the radiator never came on and the electric heater was actually in the room because the radiator was never going to come on. That's  why the electric fan radiator was already in the room at check in. 

Carpet: not clean 

Curtains dirty and about to fall off. 

Walls:very thin and noise all night. 

Toilet seat:  cover broken

Shower drain: was blocked.

MISTAKE. NOT GOOD. NOT SAFE.

This hotel should be shut down taking money of you when it is a homeless crack head shelter arrived Friday 20th September to find lots of drug users walking to and from rooms next to the one we had paid for the corridors had at least 6 drug users walking about some were sat outside the hotels is dirty and in need of repair trying to get money back

This company as a hotel is illegally operating. The company is dissolved yet it’s still trading. RIP off cowboy owners. Please avoid.

Very poor and dirty. Not a hotel it is a hostel. I Wouldn't advise solo women to stay here. 
I left within 5 minutes of arrival as I didn't feel comfortable.  
I feel the advert is misleading and not a true description of the property.

Not nice

I stayed one night.  The price shown on booking.com was £41.  However I decided to phone to make the booking.  The guy said £48.  When I pointed out the price shown on booking.com he changed my price to £41.  I paid cash upon arrival.  I stayed in room 209.  The room was clean, warm and comfortable.  Nice ensuite.  The bed was huge.  The window overlooked some park land.  There was no chair in the room but that is a minor point.  Breakfast was described as "continental".  That was an extra £7 which I paid in cash when checking in.  The breakfast was quite amateurish to be frank.  It was completely self serve.  There were no dessert spoons or tea spoons there.  So I used a soup spoon to eat my cereal and a knife to stir my tea.  The choice of cereal was  frosties, cornflakes and coco pops.  Nothing too exciting there.   White and brown sliced bread was there and could be placed in the rotisserie toaster.  Butter and jam was there too.  There was a kettle with some water in it.  Just enough for me to make a pot of tea.  I have no idea how one would refill the kettle.  You would have to go reception and ask.  There were some bananas and apples there.  The guy on reception said that yoghurts would also be there.  They were not there at all.  The breakfast was uninspiring but filled a gap.  There is no Full English breakfast option here.

Comfortable room but unexciting breakfast

Booked in did not realise it was under renovation,  arrived they were booking a homeless family in , alarm bells ringing. No facilities at the hotel , room was up 4 flights of stairs, no lift operational . Smell in room , 2 flat pillows on bed , tea but no coffee. Checked the bed it was disgusting. 
OK so they are renovating fair enough,  but has paying guest they hold inform you that , they take n homeless,  there are no facilities at all .
We are wating for a refund that stated they would do , let's see ??

DON'T BOTHER 

Checked in for one night.  Sadly the hotel is now very run down and whilst they are in the process of restoring it, they should have waited before opening it to guests.

On arrival the corridor has piles of dirty linen, smells damp and a basic like the TV didn’t even work in the room. Didn’t feel at all comfortable staying in what was once a lovely hotel.

I understand and can see that the building is undergoing some sort of renovation. So I will start with the positives. Free parking is a major plus. The room was spacious and clean. On a whole it was very quiet in here until around 7am when there were loud sounds (like heavy drilling) which I was assured that it was only the boiler. The boiler that wasn't working so it was cold showers. 
I asked the receptionist about it and he gave a generic answer with no offer to compensate for the inconvenience. The price of the had dropped considerably so I now realise why. 
I hope that the issues are done soon and maybe when I am back in the area I would visit as the location was perfect for my trip.

Free parking 

What a dump!! The hotel smells damp. The best part of the hotel is the carpet!! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. It’s not showing what’s it’s like on the site. Avoid at all costs and boom next door at Brentwood
