We had the best day for our wedding at Salomons and couldn’t recommend it more to anyone looking for a wedding venue! 
 
Our wedding coordinator, Willow, and her team were incredible on the lead up to our big day & the day itself. Our day was stress free and seamless. 

The rooms were decorated beautifully, everything we asked for was there, Willow  kept me in the loop, guided us through the day & was  always on hand if we needed anything - we really could not have been happier. 

Food was exactly as we had at our tasting session, chefs cooked for 50 guests and plates were left clean! 

We had lots of decorations and extras, which Willow took on with no problems & assured me that nothing was too much. This includes accommodating our outside suppliers, some of them being a little last minute! 

Our cottage was lovely & clean, enough room for all the groomsmen’s morning of the wedding. Breakfast next day was appreciated and loved by all the next day. 

All our guests loved the day and said wonderful the venue & all the staff were!

Wedding 2024

Needed a venue for a family reunion and Salomans couldn't have been more helpful. The events team were so obliging nothing I asked for was too much trouble. We were given the gold room to eat and the Leighton room to meet brilliant!
We were able to select our food and wine choices prior to the event which was perfect. I delivered the decorations etc the day before and was thrilled that it was laid out exactly as I requested. Erin from the events team was outstanding as were all staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent (trust me I have real 'foodies ' in my family.

Great setting, great food and best of all great staff

My wife and I visited this hotel on a Saturday in early June. A one night stop en route between the West Country and Suffolk for a weeks holiday . The hotel is situated in lovely grounds within a large estate. It’s an interesting building with the main reception and dining area being separate to the accommodation blocks. We are elderly and found no problem with this arrangement as there is a large car park adjacent to the main accommodation area. We visited on a Saturday, a wedding was taking place at the time. Our room was clean and bright as was the toilet and shower area. We had read a previous review suggesting that there could be noise, the occasional closing of doors could be heard , but other guests many attending the wedding were aware of this and clearly made an effort to consider others within the block. The staff without exception were excellent. The receptionist Charlie  and her colleague could not have been more helpful. The evening meal was nicely presented and tasty . In all a lovely stay during excellent weather we would come back again.

From. The moment we got there.  Staff was friendly and polite.  Couldn’t do nothing for you.  The front desk staff on the day was fantastic and very knowledgeable and helpful.  Food was great value.   And breakfast included.  Would definitely stay again

Where do I start… I wanted somewhere to host 
My 60th birthday, I dint want a party just a lovely Sunday lunch with family & friends.
When I contacted Salomons it was suggested that I held it in one of their event rooms and “The Gold Room “ was recommended .
It was just a perfect venue , from the organising with the menu and the communication from the events team everything was perfect.
When we arrived on the Sunday the staff were so friendly and helpful I couldn’t ask for anything else.
We were shown to the room where it was laid out perfectly. We had brilliant service . The food was absolutely perfect , hot and plenty of it. We never felt rushed between courses.
I would definitely recommend Salomons.

Beautiful place

My husband and I had our wedding here two weeks ago today. I work for the Markerstudy group and chose the venue as we know how beautiful it is and it was in our price range. The attention to detail and contact was brilliant. We had Lauren as our wedding co-ordinator who was fantastic. We had a hog roast package and it couldn’t have been any more perfect! We had the most perfect day. Thank you so much

Amazing venue

Where do I even begin with Salomons Estate? The most beautiful wedding venue with stunning grounds, great food and perfect entertainment spaces! From the moment we first contacted them to the days after our wedding the events team (Erin and Fiona in particular) were incredible - they paid attention to every small detail and exceeded every expectation we had for our big day. We couldn’t recommend them more!

The perfect wedding venue! 

Having attended a number of events at Salomons - always good quality food and the staff are lovely - I booked a room for an overnight stay.  Yes, the accommodation is in a modern block behind the main house as other reviewers had said but nevertheless the room was bright and cheerful, the bed comfortable, the bathroom clean, a suitable desk for my work, a kettle etc and a hairdryer - all my needs were perfectly met.  Admittedly it was November stay - so outside the wedding season - so I had a blissfully quiet night.  My evening meal and breakfast were served in the main house and were plentiful and delicious.  The setting and grounds are beautiful.  I would have no hesitation in staying at Salomons again.

We searched for somewhere out of town and with free parking and this place was a real gem. We could only stay one night, unfortunately, as it would have been good to have had time to walk in the grounds which were full of mature trees and gardens. All the staff encountered were friendly and helpful. During Happy Hour we particularly enjoyed being able to sit outside under beach umbrellas and with fabulous views of the grounds. Dinner was enjoyable and breakfast quite good too. Only downside was getting wet walking back to our room after breakfast- uphill, outside and little shelter. The room itself was very adequate and came with a very spacious bathroom.  The history of the estate is interesting and adds to the experience of staying here. 

Recommended accommodation

The Salomon Estate was a great location for the wedding we attended. The staff were well trained and attentive. 
We stayed in Canterbury-12....avoid! The main door has an inch of play which means it moves and bangs anytime any other door on that floor opens (use a hand towel to wedge it shut). The water pressure is very low...very low. We might have been unlucky with the timing, but the water temperature never got warm, let alone hot. 
The room was a real disappointment compared to  great venue and amazing staff.
