A delightful little B & B homely, and welcoming by owners, spotlessly clean, was a little worried about traffic noise as we stayed in room 3 on the main very busy road at the front of house but triple glazing put pay to any disturbance. The room was spacious and the complimentary “ drawer” was amazing very well stocked with every type of tea/coffee, biscuits and even hot chocolate! A small fridge with fresh milk and two bottles of water, these were replenished the next day with a bed and room tidy which I wasn’t expecting, a very nice touch. A very warm welcome in the morning followed by a very good full English breakfast, other choices available on menu along with fresh fruit , cereal, juices and tea/ coffee. Very easy access to Lincoln via car, bus or train we chose train which we walked to the village station about 10 / 15 mins easy stroll or free car park at the lovely little station. Couple of pubs, fish & chips, pizza, local mini mart within same 10 min walk from accommodation, a nice walk along the water way also plenty of nice boats to admire. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

A little gem of a place

What to say about Louise and Roland except that they are fantastic hosts. 

From a warm greeting on my first night to a lovely cooked breakfast, as well as great tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities within the room, which by the way as the most comfortable bed I've slept in apart from my own. 

Looking forward to returning again in a few days time for another mini stay and looking forward to seeing Roland and Louise again because they are just the most accommodating hosts who deserve the awards that they have.

Our 4-night stay at this delightful guest house was one of the best my husband and I have ever experienced. From the friendly welcome to the rather sad departure - as I didn't really want to leave - everything was perfect.
Roland and Louise were perfect hosts and couldn't do enough for us.  Our large room was beautifully decorated and clean and comfortable with everything we could  possibly want, including a mini fridge, with a daily supply of fresh milk, and a very welcome ceiling fan - as our stay coincided with a very hot spell of weather. They also tailored our breakfasts to our requirements as there are certain foods I can't eat.
There was a comprehensive folder in the room which included all the details we needed, including nearby pubs/restaurants and places of interest - which we found very useful.
A big bonus is its location in the lovely historic village of Saxilby, and we enjoyed a walk along the canal bank, learning more about its history from the information boards along the way.  And the food in Scrummies, the little cafe in Saxilby, was delightful.
All in all, an extremely pleasant and relaxing stay and one which we hope to repeat in the near future.



A truly delightful guest house in a historic location

Stayed here for a couple of nights bed and breakfast to attend a christening celebration nearby.  It was very comfortable, quiet at night despite being on the main road and the hosts were friendly and couldn’t do enough to make my stay an enjoyable one.

Having chosen Lincoln for a base for a couple of days, i couldn't have picked a better place to stay.  From the welcome on arrival, to the comfort, facilities and quality of the room.  It suited my needs perfectly, and i came away knowing that if or when I return to Lincoln again, the Canal View will be where i will look to stay.

A lovely stay in Saxilby

My husband and I stayed here for three nights whilst visiting Lincoln. It was a very pleasant stay. The room was comfortable and clean, the bed being particularly comfy. There were tea making facilities in the room as well as a mini fridge. The en suite shower and toilet was spotless. Our breakfast  was delicious and plentiful with a great choice. The hosts, Roland and Louise, could not have been more helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend a stay here. 

A lovely place

Roland and Louise were fantastic hosts they made us feel so welcome and their B and B was so homely, cosy and spotlessly clean,Roland and Louise were so helpful giving us a map of Lincoln and helping us out to order taxis.The bed was the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in and  the breakfast was really good too.We had the most relaxing weekend there and we would defiantly recommend.

Weekend away in lincoln

Stayed for 2 nights in this family home B@B. Friendly welcoming hosts. Service with a smile. I assume..... Extremely safe. Excellent covid precautions. Best I have come across. Add to that, fantastic breakfast, excellent choices and a clean, comfortable room with en-suite shower etc. 5 starts all round.  Would definitely recommend this as a base to explore Lincoln and surrounding countryside. Off road parking. Will definitely come again.

Stayed here for two nights as planned. However on the morning of checkout, I had to be taken into Lincoln County Hospital. The hosts did everything they could to help including getting someone they knew locally to help as there would be a long delay in Ambulance arriving. They then let my husband sleep another night and me once I was discharged.The room was beautifully warm well furnished and very clean. Breakfast was excellent good choice. There were COVID restrictions in place but all in line with requirements and anyone staying here would feel very reassured .

Above and beyond good

Arrived on Friday to this lovely B&B , a warm welcome from the owner! Beautifully clean and well equipped room! Comfortable bed, lovely shower! Tv had Netflix , a fan in the room! Brilliant, the breakfast were consistently delicious as we stayed for 4 nights! Nothing was to much for them both, would definitely stay again if and when in the area! Local, chips, pizza and Chinese all very good as well ! Thank you for a lovely break away after an extremely tough year
