We were the only people at this very interesting small hotel. We came for a night just to get away. The first thing to notice is the, quite frankly, bizarre artefacts throughout the inside. From a stuffed lynx outside our room to blackamoors holding lights up in the restaurants, with all manner of oddities - painted  deer heads, half stuffed pheasants and strange portraits in between.
We had a lovely room, which quickly got warm when the heating was put on. Four poster  comfortable bed, and a lovely big bathroom with plenty of hot water and towels. 
Sarah looked after us and served our evening meal, which was lovely. She was happy to chat and told us some history and information about the village 
We slept well and had breakfast, which was fine, cooked and served by someone different, before we left.  We did try to check out with a person, but unfortunately, despite ringing the bell several times, no-one came so we left a note and went!
It's an amazing place. Really quite spooky - I would have loved to have had a proper look round and felt some its history properly.
I'm a bit nosy so looked up who the actual owners are. Sadly, I was not impressed with what I found out about one of the owners and their legal battle with people over the years. It may account for why it was deemed ok to have some rather offensive  statues in some public areas. 
However, for a night or two away, this is a lovely quirky place. Maybe get rid of some ornaments and redecorate a bit more tastefully though!


Interesting - place and owners history

So cold and uncomfortable we did not stay the night. £10 for a rum and coke in an uncomfortable and foisty hotel. 
The owner offered to knock our bar bill from 59.50 to 40 but we ended up paying 59.50 and 120 for a room and everywhere was so cold we left and drove home.
What was meant to be a treat night totally ruined.
I Can see why we were the only customers to be honest. Shame used to love it here but has turned into a really strange place with a horrible feeling to it and so so cold everywhere with odd decorations. Left feeling rather ripped off.

My husband booked for our wedding anniversary, sadly the standard of the hotel has gone far down hill from our last visit. We had one of the garden pods, which was not very clean, in need of some repairs, and smelt fusty. We were unable to have an evening meal at the hotel as they didn’t have a chef.
The noise from the 31 dogs on site made sitting outside quite uncomfortable, and the garden table and chairs were extremely dirty. The owners seem to have lost all interest in a hotel that used to be a fantastic place to stay.

Disappointing visit

The hotel was extremely  hard to find. We arrived after finally  finding hotel and was met with a dark reception filled with dusty brass animals. 
Our room was a garden De lux room.
This was very dusty and full of grass, we asked and were told due to doors being open. 
 Beds clean, decor was flamingo wall paper with Marilyn Monroe pictures, coffee machine not emptied. However  reakfSt was cooked well and the smoked salmon very good.
We asked for clea n towels and was told
They do not change them every day, but clean ones did arrive there only appeared to be one member of staff  plus chef. She was overworked a d could not keep up with clean ing.we ft overpriced at nearly £600 for 3 people and a z  bed for 3rd person 


 Ery cluttered and dusty  lovely breakfast

Stayed at Satis House Hotel for one night with a Buyagift voucher.  
We arrived and were shown to our room by a very pleasant gentleman, our room was a lovely large room overlooking the front of the hotel which was very clean and comfortable.
We ate in the restaurant that evening and the meal was excellent.  We were served by a lovely lady called Sarah who cooked and served our meal.
Breakfast the following morning was also excellent, again cooked and served by Sarah.
Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely stay at Satis House again.

Loved the decor of this place immediately, was really eye catching! The room was lovely, spacious, plenty of storage space for clothes etc. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was a nice size, staff very helpful and polite. Would definitely visit again/recommend.

I spent two nights here during early August. Having read the reviews, I knew not to depend on the GPS and to slow down for the turning into the driveway. It is well signposted. 

You see very few staff. My check in was flawless as everything was ready. Getting all your luggage in is a bit of a haul so do let heavier items stay in the car. As I had a convertible, I needed to take everything inside.

Decor is a little chintzy but that’s the style. Rooms are comfortable and excellent space. The bathroom is clean, old fashioned, functional if a little basic. I was attending a wedding at Sibton Park. You need to book your breakfast preferences though.

I had no complaints, it’s a great place for a bit of quiet me time between different events. Hardly any staff but they seem to appear when required, during check in, breakfast and checkout. 
Only moan I had was that the coffee/tea supplies in the room are not topped up daily. 

Very Comfortable and Tranquil

We stayed on a Travelzoo deal, the staff get a 5 star, the breakfast was good but could have been hotter, we spoke to the manager regarding a few things that would improve our garden room, a net across the doors for privacy, without having to pull the blackout curtains, a openable window for fresh air and the bathroom floor needed work, minor things which would have given them a 5 instead of 4 rating, overall very enjoyable stay.

A great place to stay

I stayed here on Sat 20th August,  there were 4 in our party and we each booked separate rooms.  Having paid £140 excluding breakfast, I had high hopes -advertised as a boutique hotel.  The hotel itself had an eclectic mix, I usually like this theme but it just didn't gel.  No one was on reception when arrived.  The stair carpet and landing was badly stained. My room had a mixture of old pine furniture and a bathroom so small it was a struggle to get to the loo ! it also had a damp smell.  My room was on the side of house, and at 6am I got woken by many dogs continuously barking !  at 7.30am I got up, no point trying to sleep.  Looking out the window right underneath was an enormous dog house and yard.  There was no attempt to do anything about the barking.  Ended up checking out at 9am instead of 11am as planned.  I mentioned to reception who said they would pass this on, i heard nothing back from the hotel.I feel as a paying guest this was unacceptable.
The bed however was very comfy.

Not a boutique hotel

Only booked hotel because it was reasonably close to our wedding venue, so was greeted by angelo who to be fair was brilliant and very polite we somehow felt he should have been wearing a superman vest as he was everywhere front of house cleaning the rooms serving breakfast it was a very strange experience the decor is very strange our room was ok but feel it was very tired yoxford is extremely quiet with one pub opposite hotel lovely landlord no food at our time of stay short drive to the fox inn nice meal in summary probably just about worth price paid but without angelo not sure we would have been happy
