The Wrea head Hall hotel is absolutely first class for a weekend away-yet close enough t enjoy scarbrough and whitby areas but far enough away to feel relaxed and spoilt.
The rooms are lovely-we had roon 22 on the ground floor which was a suite and absolutely gorgeous-so comfy and I absolutely loved the bathroom with the roll top bath.
the dinner at night was first class and every course cooked to perfection and the service was excellent
Breakfast again was fab-lovely and piping hot
We went for a quiet weekend away and really felt refreshed 
The gardens are gorgeous too
special mention goes to Kevin the manager and the waitresses on Saturday night and the out of hours barman -he was very friendly and funny-great to chat to.

Wonderful night away

Just arrived home after spending one night here with my husband.I don’t know where to begin describing our stay.Firstly on arrival we saw the lovely receptionist,Laura, who told us we had been upgraded from the room we booked to a suite.She showed us round the restaurants and bar and happily told us about the place.Our suite was fantastic.Plenty of space and magnificent views.In fact every window in the hotel looks out onto rolling countryside.Every member of staff that we met were polite, friendly and helpful.Our evening dinner was absolutely delightful, and breakfast the next morning was large and lovely.I don’t think I will eat for the rest of the day.Amazing cleanliness in our room and in all other areas of the hotel.Bar seats are all comfortable and just right to sink into and relax.This was our first visit,but we are already thinking about the next one.Will definitely be back.

Yet again another lovely stay, nice room, room 41the food was as usual delicious and the staff so efficient and friendly, sorry we missed you this time Kevin but your staff did you proud, the place is always spotless. Cant wait to come back in may for my birthday

Yet again another wonderful stay

A beautiful and well cared-for building in lovely grounds with a real sense of calm tranquility. The well-appointed bedroom was large and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional and the food (dinner and breakfast) superb. A real treat.

A lovely experience

We visited Wrea Head Hall as a birthday weekend gathering for 3 generations of our family as a birthday get together. Organising a trip for 13 family members can be difficult but Kevin and the team at Wrea Head Hall made the organising very easy. Always quick to respond to my many questions making the booking process very easy. 
The Hall itself is stunning and set in a quiet location with amazing countryside views. We loved spotting the deer from the conservatory. The rooms are very tastefully decorated with far reaching views. 
We were given the conservatory for our parties use each afternoon and evening which was great as we had games and a quiz organised. 
Dinner and breakfast in the 1881 restaurant was outstanding, the food well presented, everything we ate was delicious. 
Staff were friendly and we would like to say a particular thanks to the night manger who took the trouble to always ask if the grandmother of the group was alright getting to her room, or if anyone needed anything before they retired for the night including umbrellas for the walk to the coach house. The other stand out member of staff was the young girl who was looking at going to university in Lincoln she was really efficient, very friendly and also really helpful. 
We cannot praise or thank you enough for making our family weekend away so wonderful and memorable.

Beautiful building, amazing food and welcoming

We spent a couple of comfortable days in this beautiful hotel.  We were in room 14 which was perfect. Tastefully decorated with embroidered curtain fabric, sleigh bed, panelled walls and a modern bathroom.  We were half board but decided as we were planning fish and chips in Whitby to pass up on dinner that evening but having had a delicious meal the previous evening we couldn't not enjoy another the second so had fish and chip lunch and another delicious dinner at the hotel in the evening.  The smoked trout starter was divine.  The staff were so friendly.  We couldn't fault it.

Wonderful

We stayed here for 5 nights on half-board. The service, the quality and the ambience were excellent from first to last. Good quality rooms/suites. Excellent food, and top class staff. The rooms (suites ) is the stable block are approximately 100 yards from the main building but umbrellas are provided so you'll always stay dry. The ambiance of the hotel is simple, 'old-fashioned' quality. Beautiful country house furnishings to match the history of the house and no children allowed (perfect!).
The hotel is a few miles from Scarborough so you will need transport. Parking in town can be difficult (or expensive) so its worth getting a local parking disc from reception which enables you to park for free around large parts of town.
Dining (or having breakfast) was always a pleasure. Top quality food, cooked beautifully.
I could probably say lots more about Wrea Head but, very-simply, it's excellent. Not cheap of course but worth it. Would we go again. Definitely.

First Class Hotel

Arrived home yesterday, having just had a 2 night stay. The staff are so welcoming, nothing too much trouble. The long drive way and  grounds are spectacular surrounding the Hotel giving a very peaceful feel. 
The Hotel is very grand and has many period features. Ground floor has a sitting area for a quiet reading & contemplation. Choice of 2 dining rooms and drinks lounge for pre-dinner drinks and night cap!!
The food is excellent  plenty of choice on the set menu, breakfast  very hearty.
The room we have stayed twice now in, has great views
Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Looking forward to returning sometime soon!
Kevin and his team are very accomadating friendly. 

Relaxing short break 

Wonderful few days at this lovely hotel set in its own grounds a few miles from Scarborough. Many thanks to Kevin and the whole team  who looked after us, especially catering  for my wife who is vegan with an actual vegan menu every day to choose from ( not available at very many hotels ) The room was great with lovely views over the gardens, big bath and separate shower. Breakfast and dinner were also top notch as was afternoon tea on the excellent terrace. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Stayed last week Sunday to Wednesday in room 36, this is in the carriage house just accross the drive and is a beautifully furnished room with a lounge area, have also previously stayed in room 34 which is below and equally lovely with a lounge too. 
The service of the staff here is faultless lead by Kevin who does a brilliant job maintaining such high standards.
The food is excellent, well worth doing the DBB rate as its great value for such quality and well presented food. Breakfast is outstanding and very generous portions. In all the hotels we have stayed at this is the best breakfast anywhere.
We will be back soon !
