Excellent value pensioner fish, chips, mushy, peas, bread and butter and a huge pot of HOT tea for £5.95 each. Excellent value and great customer experience. Lovely harbour vies and both inside and outside seating. 
Altogether a lucky find and will definitely return

Best value pensioner lunch ever

Called in for a coffee and sandwich ,ordered 2 Blts, on brown bread extra to toast it 😳😳, waited 25 minutes , came on just slices of brown , soggy lettuce , it had the end of sliced tomatoe  on it ,, absolutely no idea how to make a BLT , will not be returning

On our visit to Scarborough today we decided to try Ivy leaf cafe,  we were asked to sit at a table and someone would come to take our order. We decided to try the OAP Fish & Chips lunch £5.95 , when it arrived we were pleasantly surprised, not a huge plateful but a nice sized meal incl' 2 slices of B&B and a huge pot of tea for two. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted excellent. The staff were very polite and pleasant and served us with a smile, I've already mentioned it to our friends

OAP Lunch

We called in for a lovely lunch after visiting Scarborough Castle.

The service was good and the staff friendly, the food was spot on and reasonably priced. 
The decor is very pleasant and this cafe/restaurant feels much quieter than a lot of the others in Scarborough.

Lunch away from the crowds

We visited during a day trip to Scarborough. We only had hot drinks. 2 x coffee and 2 x hot chocolate. The coffee was hot and delicious as was the hot chocolate. We thought the prices were reasonable too.

We stayed here as we'd stayed without the kids 2 years ago fir a concert and loved the location! Obv the location has remained the same , sadly the standard hasn't!! We were really disappointed! We arrived at check in time to be told the room wasn't ready! No explanation just come back in a few hrs!! We returned later to check in to be told they'd be on-site til abt 7:30pm if we wanted anything. We went down at abt 5:30 to say the we had few problems and everything was closed up no one in sight! We decide to ring the emergency contact number we were given to find it was a digit short so no use! Had we had an emergency we'd have been snookered!! The WiFi didn't work which was really annoying as it was one of the reason we booked this so the kids could have their iPad time b4 bed! We had only 2 cups , glasses and towels between 4 of us!! The milk was off and had no teabags! The bathroom lock was still dodgy something which I reported last stay 2 years previously!! In the morning the breakfast included was poor to say the least! Tables were so sticky there was no way they had been cleaned! No spoons, awful coffee even tho they had a gorgeous smelling coffee machine! Kids breaky served in what looked like dogs bowls! Poor quality food except bacon + grilled tomato. All the staff seemed to be teenagers, saw and spoke to 4 diffent people in 2 days and I would say not 1 of them over 20! Maybe this is why things are being overlooked when my son was 20 he wouldn't have known how to run a v+ b either!!  We Couldn't wait to leave the place! We paid £120 for this room and then moved into a gorgeous 3 bedroom house in the next street for £100! We weren't happy with our stay as it was let alone after comparing it to the gorgeous house! Totally not worth what we paid! The Travelodge in town centre can be had for anything from £40 per night depending on when and it knocked spots off the ivy! When we checked out the young lad did ask had everything been ok? I told him no and told him the problems we'd had , he did apologise but then followed it up with but you could have checked those things too!! Like it was my job to pay £120 then make sure I had WiFi,  cups, glasses , tea , milk and an emergency contact number! He said he would let the management know I wasn't happy and they would probably contact me however I wasn't holding my breath! Good job really as no one has ever contacted me!!

Disappointing

Just visited for a bite to eat and pleasantly surprised that we could also get a decent well kept beer. Food was good and reasonably priced.  All the necessary Covid arrangement in place, toilets and premises in general nice and clean.  Would certainly go there again.

Good food and drink

Visited for lunch. 3rd visit in as many weeks. Ordered fish finger sandwich and scampi. Food took an age. Brought dirty cutlery as if it had been taken from some else's plate with encrusted mushy peas on them. Asked for clean cutlery, brought the same ones back, just rinsed under tap. Asked for more and they were dirty too. Food was oily and can still taste the oil hours later. 2 staff were constantly touching their disposable face masks, clearing tables and cleaning the floor and then serving food with apparently unwashed hands.
Wish we'd walked out when we started to feel uncomfortable.
Previous 2 visits were much better but today seemed short staffed and inexperienced.
More interested in taking details for track n trace but can't the basic's right. If you can't be clean in normal circumstances, how and why are you open during a pandemic?.

3rd time unlucky

We had a couple of lunches in here, and it was really nice, laid back atmosphere, and a great place to watch the world go by with a cold pint. Sandwiches, burgers, chips, all came quickly, lovely food, enjoyed by all. The dogs were also welcome, which is great for us!

Plenty of room inside and out so that you can sit with the dog.  Not crowded by people walking past and staff were nice.  Was cosy and warm inside with tables in the windows to look out if weather bad.  Plenty of room for prams wheelchairs or families. Prosecco brand was very nice. Cake choice ok but not extensive.
