The gentleman who greated us was very friendly. Couldn't tell you his name as he never introduced himself.  The room wasn't ready at 4 when we arrived but wasn't an issue as we went for a wonder. 

Didn't see anyone really to tell us anything ie rules etc.

No breakfast was offered although there was a dining area.

No kettle was in the room but we soon got one.  Tea bags looked a little strange but I always take my own.no milk was provided.

Tv didn't work and neither did the WiFi
 
Shower space was a little small.

For a room to lay your head for a couple of nights it was fine. Bed was comfy.

The hotel was close to town. We never moved the car. 

Yes I would stay again.

Relaxed weekend

Me and my partner last minute booked a weekend away in Scarborough. Our hotel on the second night was in the United States I booked by accident. Now it was bank holiday and everywhere was fully booked. We managed to get a room here at Columbus by a miracle. We explained what had happened and the mistake I made with the other hotel. The owner was so accommodating. Such a friendly couple the owners. For everything they did so last minute I can’t thank them enough. Family feel in the b&b, very clean, everything you need in the room. Not far to walk to the restaurants and bars. Comfy bed, nice and warm in the room.

Friendliest owners and a great value for money

If you want a spotless, ideally situated hotel, stay here. Bonnie did not earn her M.B.E for services to tourism for nothing, she provides accommodation to the highest standard, a breakfast that the Savoy would envy, and most importantly, the personal touch, treating all her guests as friends. Brian parked my car for me, that is how much care they take to make you welcome. Value for money 10/10. From a  hard to please Sheffielder, Tony.

Stay Here

We visited recently with a large party of children - mainly teenagers. Although specifically asking for them not to be treated as children as they are in demanding physical training, they were left very disappointed. The food was minimal - and very uninspiring! Meagre portions left them hungry (good job we took plenty of food with us) and 'smiley faces' (hard and overlooked) sausage and beans for breakfast!
Bonnie was very pleasant with us all, if a little 'strict' at times, even handing out prizes for the tidiest children's room, but they weren't trusted with keys for their rooms or the TV's. 
I guess the school parties catered for previously must have left Bonnie with a distinct distrust of children/ teenagers. But we will be looking for other places to stay next year. 
Rooms clean, very compact, but nice enough in a rather dated way. Tea tray & kettle (for adults),  but granulated tea that was stuck to bottom of the jar!
No bar or communal area available. 
Would be fine for adults (perhaps as b&b rather than evening meal) or adults with 'young' families, but avoid if you have teenagers/8+, or want to relax with a drink in your hotel on an evening.
Parking and location good.

Group visit

this hotel is great for both families and couples looking for a nice clean friendly place to stay in scarborough, the location is good and nice & quiet, there is ample parking facilities, the breakfast was absolutely brilliant, and nothing was too much bother for the owner of this fine hotel, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone without a second thought.

Great hotel stayed one week on a scooter trip made most welcome clean value for money friendly owner with years of experience in the hotel trade and genuine nice person  will certainly be going again good parking spaces

Great place to stay. Especially if going to the cricket.
The proprietor, Bonnie Purchon MBE is just delightful.
She is very, very helpful and kind. My freind forgot his walking stick. She went home and brought back a selection for him to try.
He also has early Parkinson's desaese, so she sat him in the breakfast room with his back to everyone so save him feeling any embarrassment when trembling while eating.
I can't recommend her and her B & B enough.
