Stayed overnight after catching up with friends for the day.
The room (room 16) was nicely decorated with a good size bathroom & very clean ( the window frames had a little black mould on, & I’m guessing this was an oversight as it is hidden behind the blinds but the rest of the room & bathroom was very clean.
The bed linen & towels were great quality & spotless.
The breakfast was very good, the young lady who took the breakfast orders was very smiley & polite.
The pub was busy on Saturday evening with a mixed aged group, we managed to find a seat & enjoyed a few drinks. 
For the price of the room including breakfast, we think it was good value for money.

Over Night Stay

Came as a family of six for Xmas dinner, cannot fault a thing! Staff were busy but attentive and pleasant, the food was great, meat tender and plenty of everything. Highly recommend and special mention to Alex our waitress for dealing with our constant spills!

Xmas day lunch

Booked with short notice for a special family meal.  The Mayfield kindly provided a helium balloon for the birthday girl.  Four members of the party ordered steaks.  All were cooked to perfection with delicious sauces.  The other meals were spot on too.  Every aspect of the meal was superb, including the service and drinks.

Pleasant place to stay, visited family members in cayton and was needing a wheelchair accessible room which is so hard to find. We arrived yesterday 7th September for 2 nights so we are still here.  Village called Seamer the room is on the main road which was a bit noisy but that didn’t bother us as we live on a main road at home. We had room 11 lovely deco with a fridge tea/coffee biscuits, hairdryer and even a Dyson hot and cold so very useful, there is 2 steps to the hall way to our room but there is a metal ramp to use. Bathroom well adapted and the shower was very good. We opted in with breakfast and May I say it was lovely had full English with coffee tea juices, could also had cereal fruit and yogurt if u liked. Lovely lady called Sue was very helpful.

Pleasant place

Booked for a 2 night stay so we could visit Whitby,Robinhood Bay nearby
We were in room 16
Good size room with a big bathroom which had seperate bath& shower unusual now!
Bed was very comfortable room clean 
We ate in the bar on first night food was good pub type
Breakfast on both mornings very good
All staff very friendly and helpful

Little niggles: room on main road so quite noisy!
Car park gets busy so bit of a struggle parking
Shower pressure was poor!

Having said that we would definately visit and stay again

Great location 

A one night stay on a room only basis and as I booked late the only room left was the vast suite with 2 bedrooms off the large sitting and kitchen area.

Most of it wasted on me but you could come here with a small family and self-cater if you didn’t fancy the average food from the bar downstairs as it has plenty of facilities including a full size American fridge.

Floorboards a bit creaky and showers small relative to the size of the area.  Also those bedrooms were above the bar and roadside and (with no double glazing) there was a bit of noise from both.   That said a very comfortable bed and a decent nights sleep.

Plenty of feee parking behind the hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights and was really pleased with the room, clean modern and comfortable. The bed was really comfy and we slept well. Bathroom was large and had a really good shower. 

The pub is quite loud but we honestly heard nothing from our room (15). Parking was a bit tight Friday night but no drama as parked on the road. 

Expected the room to have been serviced in the morning but it wasn’t? Therefore the shampoo etc was not replenished or bed made. No major issue but would have been nice? 

Definitely worth the money and would stay again.

Cosy modern rooms

Sixteen family members stayed for the night. Ample parking.  Checking in ran smoothly and we were all pleased with our rooms. Rooms are well equipped and clean with a delightful smell when you entered. Staff very pleasant and friendly and accommodated us very well. Lovely breakfast with efficient service. Only had one little downpoint and that was the coffee at breakfast. Sachets of nescafe.  Would have much preferred a coffee machine but hey-ho not everyone Is fussy about their coffee.  Will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff and management. 

Lovely place to stay

stayed here for Elbow concert ,just wowser, we had room 11 ,  the spec was outstanding !!!  th pub & garden  & service was just excellent, staff were just so friendly, the gent who served us , and breakfast , booked our taxi to open air , could not do enough , only downside we had to leave before Sunday lunch, as there are classed as outstanding !!  thankyou , I did not want to leave ,, we will definitely be back , x 

FANTASTIC , ALL ROUND 

We had a 2 night stay. Managed to park in car park on both nights. Room nicely designed, comfy bed but starting to look tired. Several small rips on headboard, marks on walls. Room 6, quite noisy as at top of stairs.
Didn’t have an evening meal there but staff friendly when ordering drinks.
Don’t book breakfast, not worth £10 each. Worst continental breakfast ever seen, a few yoghurts in ice, 3 bread loaves in wrappers, a few boxes of cereals, and a jug of milk, and 2 juices. And a 4 slice toaster that even the chef had to use. Oh and there was a bowl of fruit that looked like it had seen better days!The cooked breakfast was just ok. Single hot drink each. On our second morning the bar was totally unmanned, no-one answered the bell and had to wait 10 mins before the solitary member of staff appeared! Go to Morrisons, it’s only about 5 mins drive, which we had.
If you watch 4 in a bed and the final question is would you stop here again, has to be a NO!
