Stayed at this guest house for 1 night. It was a cheap getaway and we found it as described,, good position overlooking the north Bay near to castle, parking permit covers a large area so managed to find a space. The location was good for us but could be difficult for anyone not too mobile. Our room was very small as was the bathroom but adequate, breakfast ok, the lady who we dealt with seemed very nice not sure if she was the owner or staff. 

Decent value

We were attending a family wedding and was struggling to find sutible accommodation for two adults and three children for two nights,one of the hotels wanted 300+ per night! Right from the first email and phone call Carole was so helpful,We were delighted with our stay all the little touches you do in your b&b really made us feel welcome including breakfast table ready, the menu is home cooked and amazing selection, soon as we sat down we was greated with hot drinks and toast and prompt breakfast served, my 5 year old boy was delighted with his toasted tea cake after his cereals. Delighted with our stay a hidden gem, the views are stunning and it's a lovely clean establishment, thank you for the call of my left items

Wonderful stay

We came for a family weekend away and were blown away the views from our room were incredible and the room was modern and very well cleaned. The breakfast was great and there was a wide selection to choose from the kids enjoyed chocolate crepes and me and my husband had a full English breakfast which was lovely and filled us up for the full day the staff were polite and officiant we will definitely be booking again soon! 

Great family getaway 

Arrived at the Derwent on the Friday afternoon for a weekend away. It's situated high up on the sea front of the North Bay. We were greeted at the reception, a counter in the hallway and was given our room key. Now don't get me wrong, the room was only £55 pn, but you'd expect a bit? The whole decor was drab, wallpaper and paint over lumps and bumps in th walls, no wardrobe, just a hang rail and some bedside drawers, the carpet wasn't vacuumed and the bed linen was that faded and thin, you could see through it, however, the sheets were clean, but pillows think as wafers, it was all so old and out dated. It was ensuite with a loo seat so cheap you had to balance on it. A cheap wooden towel rail, like it was an afterthought and a small shower with a curtain the sticks to you. The hand towel was covered in bleach marks and what looked like mascara. I went down to have it changed but there was no one around... I said to my partner we would leave it in the bottom of the shower to be changed in the morning (like the sign said). There was tea and coffee and an ironing board, with two random water glasses on the side. The bed was comfy, but being on the top floor one had a rude awakening by the pitter patter  and squawking of gulls at 430 am. Breakfast was ok though, no fruit or yoghurts. Went out for the day, but returned early due to being unwell (not b&b related). The hand towel had jus been hung back up, wetter this time because t had been in the bottom of the shower all morning and the water glasses were on the side where we I'd left them. I was in no mood to make a fuss because I was unwell and we left... I normally would stand my ground. He landlady was pleasant and very smiley (but seemed oblivious to things around her). If you want cheap an cheerful then this is for you, but I expected a little bit more for my shekel (A bit more attention to detail)

On the Surface

This was our first time to Scarborough and we looked at a lot a B&B’s then decided on this one.

The host was absolutely brilliant so helpful even when we arrived later than planned. 

The B&B was very clean and tidy and was in a perfect location with easy walking distance to all both beaches and amusements and shops.

Would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in Scarborough even with kids as we did.
