I thought the hotel looked a bit bleak from the outside, but inside it is really comfortable, fresh and welcoming. We had a couple of issues with our bikes, and the staff were happy to help us out. We only had breakfast, but it was unlimited and very nice! :-)

A great hotel to arrive at after a long journey!

We stayed at The Bailey View so we were close to our family, who were camping.
The hotel is basic, I think parts of it are ready for a bit of TLC but it was spotlessly clean and the staff were all really nice and friendly.
The bulk of the guests seemed to be contractors working close by, but they were nice and friendly too.
The bar and restaurant are only open for a couple of hours in the evening, but the food was very nice, plenty to choose from.
Breakfast was nice too,  again good choice and plenty of it, but it did feel like you were in a works canteen rather than a restaurant.
Ideal location to visit the area.
We would defiantly stay again.


Nice stay

Before arrival we were advised breakfast on our date would be self service, and if we wished we could move to a local sister hotel. We had specifically chosen a sea view room and decided to stay. Really enjoyed our unique one-night stay - no other guests, no staff. Hotel to ourselves. Loved the hotel, great sea views, great location, highly recommend (but not if you want crowds, or staff). Breakfast was indeed self service, cereals and toast.  

Unique hotel

Stayed here 3 nights for work. My room had a double bed and had a gd nights sleep, good size bathroom and a large tv with BT sport meaning I could watch champions league games from my room. The food was also really good, good sized portions and freshly made. Staff are also really friendly esp the breakfast staff in the morning.
I will admit the rooms are a bit dated  and there isn’t much going on round about the area but I was there for work and had no issues at all. 
Based on this, 4/5!

Good hotel for work stay

Very poor welcome with only an envelope with a key and name on it
Entrance only on side by car park
This was littered and rubbish and buildings materials

We were told we were lucky to get food in Tempe evening as a party of contractors had requested it
This is clearly only interested in contractors there are no facilities for food or drink during the day until bar opens in the evening 
Breakfast was ok and cooked freshly but you are asked to order before 

Maintenance poor with curtains hanging off rails
Mattress was also beyond its best with springs being felt 
Four poster bed looked great but was rickety and noisy when you moved

No recommended for holiday stay just contractors

What a lovely friendly place to stay on the coast of the West Lake Listrict
We had a beautiful view of the Irish Sea in room 2. The room was spacious and clean with a good shower and lovely fluffy towels.
The hotel is clean and the staff were always ready to help, especially the lovely Lisa.
We ate in the restaurant on arrival which was extremely fresh and tasty. We had the arrabbiata and the carbonara, was delicious.
The Bailey Ground hotel was a very nice place to stay with beautiful scenery and we will definitely stay again.

Lovely place to relax

Just back from a 4 night stay in this hotel.  Honestly cannot fault it in any way.  We arrived to a lovely welcome at reception.  We were handed an envelope which had all necessary info regarding our stay and to let us know of the upgrading that was happening within the hotel.  Yes there were workmen plastering...yes there was a bit of a mess...did it affect our room or our stay?..no.
We ate in the hotel every night.  Food was homemade and piping hot and delicious and great value for money.  We sampled the ice cream from the parlour which was amazing!!..we also preordered breakfast a couple if times and chose the have cereal and toast tea and coffee the other days.  Staff were so nice and friendly.

We had a seaview room which was fab.  Plenty nice white fluffy towels and spotless clean bedding.
I will definitely return maybe in a year or so..just so i can see the changes and upgrades.  Thanks for a great break

Great break

Restaurant not open all weekend, you could have food brought in from another restaurant , rooms not serviced over weekend , no front of house staff available in the morning, they expected you to order your breakfast the night before, tried it once and they still got it wrong. tried to charge me twice for rooms booked.
In room dining is brought in from an outside source.
Was like faulty towers without the benefit of Basil and Cybil

very disappointing Hotel

We ate here twice during our stay in another village.  There were five of us and each had a different meal, the food was gorgeous; it was freshly prepared and generous portions. The Carbonara was described as the 'best we've ever tasted'. Cumberland and mash shown in pic - so good I had it both times!

Restaurant food

Thanks boys you played a blinder. We arrived there from been turned away from the hotel we had booked after a two and a half hour drive at 9 at night. Clean tidy well equipped, don't let the outside put you off its what's inside that matters, the boy's.
 We sat in the bar [ me my wife and daughter] having a moan about the other hotel and we had 2 garlic bread pizza's home made, when we finished out of no where came 3 chocolate brownies and ice cream " on the house after the night you have had", made my night that little bit of attention. The lads even tried to find us a restaurant for the following night as my friends where up to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary  and they where now 40 miles from us.
Beds comfy, bathroom clean tidy and all in working order, breakfast great.
Can it be improved in any way, not really it is what it is where it is, a sea front hotel in a fishing place.
Will I go back, why not liked it the first time but I bet I dont get treated better than this time, thanks boy's.
