Lovely stay, staff friendly, great breakfast and welcoming regulars. 

We were visiting family in the local area and went for a day into York, train was ideal, 20 minutes direct, no hassle.

We arrived back at the George for our evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed.

we stayed here 23feb had a great time the staff were fantastic even helped us download the app they are a credit to the company the room was fine and we will return in the summer thanks for a brill night selby as got alot to offer with the abbey just over the road

we  stayed at this lovely hotel , the staff were amazing and friendly, joe the manager told me all about the hotel and its age, we had dinner here, fish and chips mushy peas 2 slices of fresh bread it was delicious and only £7.99 each the fish was hand battered ,we stayed in the family room , it had a double bed plus a single bed, the beds were very comfortable , the room was immaculately clean with teapot and all the trimmings lovely. it COSTS£96 a night full breakfast included, the breakfast was amazing comes with 2 eggs2sausages 2 bacon fresh mushrooms tomato beans hash brown 2 toast black pudding, endless drinks , we were served by adam a very helpful young chap most helpful, we could not fault this hotel for value terri and the bar staff, adrian the night porter m and jason in the morning, we love you all and will return , thank you all again. xxxxxx

FANTASTIC FOOD FANTASTIC SERVICE AND VALUE.

Lovely visit made to feel really welcome, nice atmosphere lovely staff really helpful and lovely and clean as well will definitely be returning with our friends. 
The food was lovely and plenty of it, nice clean area and really quick service,

Amazing

We had a wonderful night here, the room was very clean, the staff attentive and the bar was well stocked and lively would recommend to anybody and will be back again next time we are in the area, reasonably priced too considering.

Beautiful stay

great find fir us when visiting friends and family in Leeds excellent food and drink selection lovely friendly staff and management nothing is too much trouble rooms clean and comfortable would definitely recommend to friends and family

Check in was very easy as we arrived about 7 pm and the bar was full we had been to a family funeral and weather was really cold we had room 1 it was lovely and warm the bed was large clean and very comfy I don’t usually sleep very well ( there was a bit of noise in back yard )but slept well the breakfast was excellent plenty of coffee orange juice and beautiful soft bread I couldn’t fault anything room was a little tired but good value for money

Stayed over Saturday night,  free parking at the back of the pub, ignore £5 parking charge at meter just go in rear and register car at check in.

Allocated spacious twin room at from of pub overlooking the Crescent.
Room very clean and comfortable with usual kettle,  tea, coffee  etc.
If you want a good night's sleep,  this may not be the pub for you as there was loud music coming from a nearby venue until around 3am. 
Breakfast OK but nothing special,  disappointing no Yorkshire tea bags at breakfast even though they were available in the room  ! 

The pub is 10 seconds walk from the Abbey, the venue we had come to visit for a concert on the evening of Saturday but was unfortunately cancelled. 

Nice location but a bit noisy at night. 

We visited Selby to see family and booked into The George Inn for one night.  This is a lovely pub, friendly, great atmosphere and a lovely garden to sit in, with nice music.  The room was very clean and comfortable.  It was the hottest day of the year so far when we visited, so were worried about being exceptionally hot during the night.  However, there was a tower fan in the room which was extremely efficient and kept us cool.  Breakfast was very good, I had the full English but you need to be a big eater to eat that, plenty of it.  This place is great value for money. All in all, a lovely place to stay and we will definitely stay again 

Great value, lovely stay

This is a traditional pub with hotel rooms. The service was great. Free onsite parking very close at the rear of the hotel. Excellent bar.
We did not have an evening meal as we were attending a function elsewhere, but the breakfasts were great.
Not too expensive either.
