We had a lovely stay at Maypole Farm! Family friendly, clean and cosy. The hosts were incredibly lovely and helpful. Good knowledge of surrounding areas and things to do. Would definitely stay here again! 

Fantastic stay! 

Stayed as a group of friends attending a wedding. 5 rooms so only small but clean and well presented. We were met by Maggie, who communicated up to our arrival and welcomed us. A really informal setting, with a communal breakfast setting, with complimentary cereal, toast, and hot drinks. We were attending a wedding nearby so was ideal for us but there isn’t much locally, with the local pub being closed down.

Excellent accommodation

Such a beautiful homely feel and amazing hosts both Maggie and Adam made me feel perfectly at ease.
The accommodation was absolutely spot on clean comfortable and welcoming. I cannot recommend maypole farm enough. I will certainly be returning. Thank you Maggie and family for your extremely warm welcome

Outstanding accommodation and host

Lovely rooms in a very pretty village close to lots of attractions. Great hosts and love the help yourself breakfast and relaxed vibe. Communication was great and really good value too.  They also have one type 2 EV charger

Lovely friendly relaxed

Arrival greeting superb, very clean, comfy,  ideal location to local amenities, all round highly recommended, sensible prices we stayed 2 nights, would definitely use again if ever up this way again, great hosts who couldn’t do enough for her guests. ( my daughter is celiac, not a problem as long as you let them know)

Outstanding Guest house in quite village

Stayed 2 nights with friends.  Lovely warm, clean, fresh smelling accommodation, good hot shower and nice towels.  Plenty of choice  for the continental breakfast to help yourself to included in the price.  Would definitely recommend to friends and stay again if visiting York.  Ate twice at the pub opposite which was a super bonus!

Warm, cosy and friendly

We booked the Maypole last minute as we where working in the area as wedding venue dressers, the booking process went through with no problems and we even got a call from the owner on the day of arrival.
Maggie met us and was lovely from the start a warm welcome and some immediate banter, we where pleasantly surprised as Maggie explained the breakfast process in the morning as there was no mention of this on booking.com and we didnt know it was included. The breakfast was self help and a good mixture of cereals, croissant teacakes fresh orange etc. a good start to the day.
The room on the ground floor was newly refurbished and immaculate couldn't fault it in any way, the bathroom was spotless and the whole room was lovely styled - outstanding.
Our only disappointment was we had only booked one night, i would highly recommend  - we will certainly be back if visiting the area again.

LITTLE GEM WITH FREINDLY OWNER

The room was clean, modern and comfortable with good quality furnishings and facilities. Lots of options for breakfast available to help yourself. Booking was really easy with excellent communication both at the time of booking and the day before the visit. Located in a lovely village and very easy to get to. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the area. A big thank you to Maggie for going above and beyond to get my son’s favourite toy back to him before bedtime!

Fantastic stay at lovely guest house

Extremely enjoyable 2-night break. Maggie and Adam are wonderful hosts and can’t do enough to help. Stayed in Room 4 which is more than adequate for a few nights stay. Only comment was the towel rail in the bathroom, which is probably a bit too high for those of a shorter stature, i.e., my better half.
Maggie did question us about noise from the rooms upstairs, which we thought wasn’t a problem, although someone had complained earlier about it. Certainly, didn’t affect our stay.
Breakfast is a self-service affair, which for us isn’t a problem. Plenty of choice of cereal, fruit, yoghurts etc. Could be a slight problem if more than 6 turned up at any one time.
Pub across the road serves really nice food and there are another couple of pubs in the village. Only gripe is that none of them seem to open on a Monday.
Overall, a very nice place to stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate going back there, if we were in the area.
