My family, puppy and I had a wonderful week long stay here. The hosts were so friendly, helpful and kind. Breakfast was 3 courses each morning and delicious each day setting us up for sight seeing! This hotel was perfect for seeing all that the island has to offer and we packed each day with activities and only ever had a short drive to different places. Our puppy was very welcome and there is a lovely , safe, little garden to take them out each morning. Rooms were very clean, lots of furniture, mirrors , tea coffee milk etc and very comfy beds. Parking (which isn’t ever now) was safe, on site and free. Walking distance to bars on the front, a pub directly opposite and the coop is 15 min walk. Loved our stay and will be back.

Don’t miss this lovely guest house! Perfect location too.

The Hotel was quite over priced for what it was.  I do not like using Booking.com either.  It was a performance having to cancel the booking for the hotel to book the ferry.  The shower was not that quick in coming on, should have pointed it out to the proprieter.  There were not many eating places about and to pay £20.00 for fish and chips on Shanklin sea front was not funny.  The chap was quite helpful with the places to see.  No sting cream to be bought virtually anywhere on the Saturday night.  

Cost of hotel - over priced

Just come back from the annual scooter weekend on the Isle of Wight, it was the first time we had stayed in this hotel, there were 8 of us all together. 

We had a very warm welcome form Bernie & Lesley who were very hospitable.

There was a good choice of breakfast, freshley cooked to your liking. The rooms were clean & comfortable we even had a sea view. Thoroughly enjoyed it & will definitely go back next year.

Scooter Rally Weekend 

We had a beautiful week staying at the Curraghmore hotel in Shanklin. The hotel provided everything we needed to make our stay perfect and had a charm from a bygone time. The full English breakfast we had every morning was delicious, cooked exactly the way we like and set us up for a day of exploring the island. The hotel's location allowed us to have easy access to the beach, where we swam, sunbathed and hunted for fossils, all without needing to use a car. The local restaurants were within walking distance and there was plenty of choice including Thai, Indian, Italian or a good chip shop. We stayed in a quiet, cosy, well kept room where we had privacy or the option to talk with the kind friendly and knowledgeable couple who run the Curraghmore. Our stay was just what we needed and we intend to return in the future.

Before arriving communicating was excellent with with a good saving arranged on the ferry crossing. A very friendly welcome and explanation on what was available in the hotel and surrounding areas. All requests were handled with a smile and dealt with promptly. Location was great with the beach just down the road and a bus stop out the front. Just be aware there are a lot of stairs and steep hills. In places the decor is a bit tired but the owner is trying to rectify this. Would stay again.

Great location, friendly welcome and service

Booked for 3 nights for the IOW festival when our previous hotel was unavailable.  Just looked for a reasonably priced one nearby with a double and twin room.
Welcome by the owners was great and they kindly let us check in early so we could get back to the festival in good time.
The twin was great - large and on ground floor with door to the terrace/garden and lovely views to the sea.
There was an issue with our booked double so due to a cancellation that was changed to a family room in the first floor at the front with great views too.
Both had good tv's, tea making facilities and plenty of toiletries in the bathroom (both shower only).
Breakfast was brought to you and included  orange juice, cereals or fruit and we all had the fruit salad which was excellent.  Then there was a freshly cooked full English or an variation of items with tea/toast which was always very nice.
It is more of a B&B than hotel, is not modern and some of the fittings are quite old but it was great value and perfect for us!

Well located for beach, town and it’s restaurants. Free Parking at rear of hotel or on street at the front. Bernie and Lesley were excellent hosts and have run the hotel for 17 years so they know the area and are a great source of information. It’s a B&B with an excellent breakfast offering. The room we stayed in was dated but everything worked well. We were in room 10 as we had our dog with us. The room had access to the garden via a patio outside the room. Great not only for the dog but also great views of the sea. And easy access to beach and town. The patio had a table and chairs for our use. Bernie and Lesley did our ferry booking for us from Lymington to Yarmouth and got us a good discount. They also managed to tweak our return sailing for us too. Best to check reviews before booking and book direct with hotel to get discount/trade ferry price. If you want a clean room (although dated but well maintained) a decent bed and good location in Shanklin this has to be on your list.

Good location

Awful place .Dated decor, faded paintwork & in places, peeling wallpaper. Shower didn't function properly (told by owner to lean over side of bath & hold it lower!) Bathroom in a dilapidated state, next to a noisy boiler which was next to the bedroom! WiFi didn't work in my room (apparently it had a problem with Samsung phones!) Cobwebs aplenty, wires & cables loose in the room, the place was a mess!! I hardly slept all week! Don't ever stay here,it's dire!

Where do I start?!

Had a five night stay here and we had an absolutely brilliant stay. Bernie and Leslie are fantastic hosts who can't do enough for you. The family room we had was plenty big enough and nice and clean. We also had doors leading out to the terrace/garden where we could sit and have a morning coffee whilst the kids had a play which was lovely.
We also had a superb breakfast every morning, (loads of choice) to kickstart the day with.
Views overlooking the sea and only a couple of minutes walk to the seafront.
Would recommend this place without hesitation.

Amazing place

We just returned and really enjoyed our stay. We had a ground floor room with the terrace so was nice to sit outside, great sea view. 

Very friendly and helpful, clean rooms, good size. Lovely breakfast. Thank you.
