From the wonderful, friendly, welcoming greeting from Wendy on reception to the last minute of leaving we enjoyed our stay.
We had to change our accommodation arrangements on arrival on the Isle of Wight and we are very happy we found The Grange.
It is located up a side street off the Old Village. Good location for some nice places to eat within walking distance.
Walking distance to the beach.
We were given a choice of rooms and we chose a lovely light room overlooking the very beautiful gardens.
The beds are softer than we are used to but still very comfortable and we slept well.
It is bed and breakfast, we request the time slot we wanted the day before. The breakfast choice offered something for everyone.
The serving staff were very friendly and breakfast was delicious.
There is tea and coffee biscuits and fruit available free of charge throughout the day.
There are cold drinks and snacks available at the bar and this is on an honesty basis.
The rooms are made up daily and towels changed if required.
There is a very comfortable lounge you can use with games/jigsaw puzzles if you want something to do on a wet afternoon. There is outdoor seating if the weather is good.
We had a lovely time at The Grange and if we return to Isle of Wight wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Had a lovely 6 night stay at The Grange. Very warm welcome on arrival and a fond fair well from the owner as we left.

Really enjoyed the stay and the wonderful garden. Friendly helpful staff. A great experience and wonderful access to the coast and it's right in the town! Perfect access to the bus system and also has the Island train station near by.

Some of the more interesting areas to explore are Osborn House (via the local Bus) and the "The Chine" a natural spectacle within easy walking distance of The Grange.

A wonderful stay and relaxed atmosphere

We were going to the Isle of Wight for a wedding, so thought we would stay a while and have a few extra days there and decided on Shanklin. When we arrived at The Grange, we were greeted by the owner Christina, lovely, friendly and welcoming. Room light and airy, bed & pillows really comfortable. Great power shower. Lovely breakfast each morning. Staff so friendly and courteous, always smiling whenever we saw them.  There is a lovely sun terrace with plenty of table & chairs if on a sunny day you prefer to eat breakfast out there. Although walking distance to Shanklin town and Old  Shanklin, once back at The Grange it was so quiet and peaceful. You can get to the beach walking through the beautiful gardens at The Grange that also has sun loungers and a swing bed. 
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and was made most welcome. Thank you! :)

The Grange by the Sea, Shanklin

This hotel was beautiful. It sits above sloping gardens which lead down to a gate that is a short walk from Shanklin chine and the sea. The hotel itself feels very homely and has really quirky decor. Staff are lovely, breakfast great and the chief even made me a breakfast to take up for my teenage daughter who didn’t want to get up at breakfast time !! We stayed on the top floor family room with a double and single bed. The room was slightly dated and could do with a revamp like carpets, lick of paint and a new bathroom but this is by any means did not affect our stay. It was clean and had ever needed. There is a kettle with all bits and pieces to make tea and coffee, hairdryer and plenty of places to plug stuff in. The view from out room was the front of the house which you can’t really see to much but still pleasant. You are with walking distance of shops and pubs. Definitely recommended!! We will be going back here to stay !!

Beautiful hotel, perfect location !!

This was a last minute booking and was just superb.  It could not have been better.  The beds were super comfy, the rooms were spotless and the staff were really lovely.  This was all topped of with a brilliant breakfast.  We could not rate the grange any higher and are so grateful for a great first night in the Isle of Wight!

Great first night in the Isle of Wight!

What a lovely location, friendly team and great accommodation.
Centrally located in Old Shanklin we stayed for the IOW festival weekend.
The team were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
Beautiful gardens and easy access to the beach, shops and transport stops.
Easy check in and out and late returning wasn’t an issue.
This will be our number one location whenever we return to the Isle of Wight.

A little gem in a beautiful quiet setting

beautiful place Wendy and all the staff were friendly and very helpful, excellent food and it was very nice to be able to get drinks and snacks anytime. Sitting on the terrace or in the lovely garden you felt a million miles from the bustle of everyday.

Warm friendly welcome, lovely staff. We found the accommodation very comfortable, the food excellent and atmosphere convivial. It was a great place to spend New Year. Thank you to all involved. It’s a shame that we didn’t get to explore your beautiful garden because of the bad weather.

Short New Year break.

Amazing place,been a lot of times now and never had a bad experience with the hotel or staff.Such a comfy nights sleep is to be had and the views as well as venturing down the back garden are amazing!Food is excelllent and caters for dietary requirements too!

Amazing stay in a beautiful quiet setting.  Staff are very friendly and welcoming.  Definitely returning! Perfect base to explore the isle with great restaurants and a theatre within walking distance.
