What a wonderful welcome, the owner Jackie was so welcoming nothing was to much trouble. We went for the festival she even gave us bottled water. The room was very nice and local for the beach if you wanted it. We will definitely be going back.

The Heatherleigh

Positives:
- clean and comfortable room
- en-suite bathroom also very clean
- Jackie was very nice
- breakfast was fine

Negatives:
- made to pay £10 surcharge for gluten free (for 4 breakfasts)
- breakfasts very basic considering cost me so much! No fresh fruit and if you ordered full English you get one or two of everything, I got for example 1 sausage, 2 bacon slices, 1 egg and 1 hash brown.
- room needed somewhere to hang coats which was particularly missing as it was so rainy while we were there.
- signs everywhere about rules fo make you feel a bit like you are staying in someone’s house.

On balance a fine stay and if it didn’t cost me an extra 2.5 per breakfast I wouldn’t have been so disappointed.

Won’t be staying again

We stayed here and had a fantastic holiday, Jackie and her staff are very pleasant, they are very covid conscious, which is never a bad thing, 
Breakfast was spot on, the rooms are very tidy, exactly what you would expect from a b & b .
We loved that the front door key had been replaced with a electronic key pad, perfect for the beach trips and even going out for walks, it meant we didn't have to take lots of keys with us.

Overall this is definitely one of the better places in shanklin

BEST HOLIDAY EVER! 
Every member of staff we came across were so accommodating and kind! Could not ask for anything better!
WILL BE RETURNING NEXT YEAR! So family friendly as well for any of those who like to go out and about, very knowledgeable about the island as well so was very helpful with knowing things to do!

After reading such great reviews I really thought this B&B was going to be special.
Room: very basic,no dressing table to do hair or make-up just a mirror on the wall and a socket so far away it was impossible to dry your hair and actually see what you were doing.

Jackie is neurotic regarding Covid, there are notices everywhere and even the remote control was in a sealed bag!
You are given a contract to sign to say you have read her rules which are stuck on the doors.

Breakfast
Pre order the night before which I dislike anyway because who knows what you might fancy in the morning at 8pm.
Sadly I think it was also cooked the night before!! Luke warm, bacon like a crisp sausage grey,not a great choice really.
On 2 of the days we stayed Jackie came bounding in to the breakfast  room the moment we had all been served wanting payment for rooms and on 2 occasions had made a mistake with guests payments and it was all very uncomfortable.
Some music or radio is needed in that room so as it has no atmosphere at all.

Would not go there again

We’ve had a lovely week staying at the Heatherleigh B&B. Jackie and her staff are lovely. Jackie makes sure that you have everything you need and made sure that everything was Covid secure. Thank you 😄

Lovely B&B - Highly recommend

I was well pleased with the studio flat with a kitchen well equipped for self-catering. It's north facing, but when the sun is shining, I could sit on the little deck for morning and evening sun, and there's a small west-facing garden as well. No problem with parking, and the shops, the beach, the railway station and bus stops are a short walk away. Jackie was very welcoming and made sure that I was happy with everything. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the unpredictable British weather!

Well equipped studio flat

We had a 4 night stay in one of the super king size bed rooms which was spotlessly clean. Jackie the owner is extremely friendly and approachable and very Covid alert.
Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before and served at your table and has a good variety of choice. Free off road parking is a bonus and the town's amenities are just a short walk away. The internal stairs are pretty steep so choose a ground floor room if this is relevant. Recommended.

Well located B&B that ticks all the boxes.

Just back from 4 nights in this B & B
We had the large king size room,spotlessly clean.
Lovely white large towels.
Good refreshment tray.
Jackie is not servicing the rooms during your stay,due to Covid.
But if anything needs replacing,just put outside the bedroom door,it will be replaced,cleaned etc.
Large choice of breakfast items,my only thought,no fresh fruit.
(It could be an option) breakfast is pre ordered the night before.

4 night stay

We booked into the Heatherleigh for three nights in early August. 

The accommodation was immaculate and we were made most welcome by Jackie on arrival and during our stay. She had put a lot of work into making the B&B as COVID-19 secure as possible, with sensible precautions like staggering breakfast to maximise space in the dining area. Breakfast was superb with a wide choice and all beautifully cooked and presented. Jackie was able to give us lots of helpful advice on things to see on the Isle and also where to eat locally.

Eating out was a challenge as there are only a limited number of restaurants in Shanklin and it was the first week of the Govt. 50% off scheme. So most restaurants were fully booked for the week. Fortunately we had our own car so we were able to drive to find places to eat outside of Shanklin.

From the B&B it is only a short walk into Shanklin or to the cliff tops. The cliff lift was out of action due to COVID restrictions, so it was quite a walk to get to the sea front. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heatherleigh  and would stay again if we were to return to the Isle of Wight
