We had the most relaxing stay here at Rylestone Manor. Mike and Carole were most welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The room was just as you would expect for a period property, very pretty and a very comfortable bed.  Our breakfast was fabulous and hot!!  Great location too , nice and peaceful but only 5 mins walk into shanklin town.  We wouldn’t hesitate to book here again when we visit the island next time. Mike and Carole, we miss you  and your beautiful home already.

What a simply superb place to stay. We always love old traditional buildings and quiet locations. This place has literally everything we like. It is located in the Rylstone Gardens ground and tucked away in one corner. There is ample free car parking for guests next to the hotel. The place has so much character inside and outside and the building just looks stunning.
The two owners Mike and Carole are both so friendly and make your stay as memorable as they can. On this particular visit we had two rooms booked for two nights. We had Ash and our friends had Beech. The hotel only has 9 rooms and they are all quite individual, cosy, warm and give you a lovely feeling. We all slept really well and at night time you cannot hear anything just peace and quiet.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent as Mike is a Corden Bleu chef. You chose what you would like on a breakfast sheet given to you the day before, plus you select the time you would like to eat. All food is excellent and we all loved our breakfasts and service. We have already booked up a return visit in a few weeks time which we are looking forward to. 

Having had such a brilliant time we booked yet again and actioned a second weekend away here on Sat 10 to Mon 12 June. On this occasion we slept in "Yew". So far over the years we have stayed in "Yew, Maple & Ash" rooms. They are all unique and all have their own character and individualism which we love. Yew was really lovely on this visit and our room overlooked the front of the hotel grounds. Our stay was as excellent as all the others and again Mike and Carole make you feel more like a family member than a guest. Breakfast is awesome and such a treat look forward to in the morning.

Cannot really think of one negative with this hotel but I will say that a good tip would be to bring a throwaway plastic cover to cover your car! The car park is private but is overhung with superb trees. Pidgeon's etc roost in these at night time and seem to enjoy taking pot shots at the cars below. A throw away cover will remedy this problem. 

We will certainly be back very soon to enjoy what we consider to be one of the best hotels on the IOW in a tranquil and superb location. Thank you.

Lovely few days away, great breakfast, great hosts, wonderful secluded location close to everything you need for a trip away, shame we never got to sample the chefs evening meals but the Rum & Gin hut the spot 😉

We stayed in this beautiful secluded hotel at the side of Rylstone Gardens, in the Willow room.  Cosy and warm.  Super breakfasts and great service.  Mike and Carole look after you like friends.  Thank you both for your super hospitality.  Very highly recommended. Mick & Lorna.

2-Night Break in the Willow Room

A most wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting.  Carol and Mike really know how to look after their guests, they are so friendly and very helpful with lots of advice on the local area. Breakfast was delicious.  Our room was at the back overlooking a natural garden with many trees and red squirrels often chasing each other around the tree trunks. The house is set in spectacular gardens full of magnificent colour and a short walk takes you to stunning views over Shanklin.  Highly recommended!

Very Enjoyable Holiday

Our first time at Rylstone Manor but it won’t be the last. The small hotel is set in very pleasant gardens where, generally, visitors come to walk or sit quietly - one afternoon there was a brass band practice in the old hall nearby, which to my ears was a happy addition to the atmosphere. Like so many similar hotels this one is run by very committed, experienced hosts doing everything to make one’s stay as agreeable as possible. Despite the poor weather we had a happy 3 nights in the superior double facing the Gardens and coast. Nice large room, more than adequate from every perspective. Breakfast, by advanced order each evening on a comprehensive tick sheet, was delightful in a lovely large room. Why only 4/5? Realistically this is an older building which must take a great deal of tlc. That accepted, you won’t find many places to beat its value. Thank You for a lovely visit - will see you again.

Good value hotel in attractive gardens with lovely hosts.

Visited this hotel over the weekend, if you’re looking for a traditional family run hotel with lovely hosts, this is the one. Lovely quiet location, breakfast to die for, lovely rooms with period features. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel when visiting IOW

Wonderful stay

We had a few days staying here this week when we were at last allowed to stay in hotels.
We were welcomed by the hosts and owners of this beautiful small hotel set in parkland just above Shanklin Chine.
Our bedroom was spacious and the bed large and super comfy.The windows overlooked the garden and spectacular trees and we were treated to the red squirrels frolicking in the branches.
Everywhere was very clean and Covid safe the breakfast ordered the night before and made fresh.The owners couldn’t have been more a without being intrusive.
Really can’t fault this hotel and it’s welcoming atmosphere.
However as things open up we struggled to get reservations for dinner in the recommended restaurants I would suggest booking before you go.

Lovely relaxing stay in genteel hotel

We booked a last minute weekend away with 2 friends and could not of found a lovelier place for a getaway.  We had the hotel to ourselves and the owners could not do enough to make us welcome. The breakfasts were superb in a lovely setting and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Overall we would highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Wonderful weekend 

My husband booked Rylstone Manor for our wedding anniversary, we have stayed before, so new to expect a fabulous time.
Mike and Carol really put themselves out for us and made our stay perfect.
The room was spotless and very tastefully decorated as is the whole manor. 
The manor is set in beautiful Victorian gardens secluded and peaceful, and yet not far away from the village and a selection of cosy pubs and tea rooms.
The beach is only a stones throw away and well worth a visit.
If you want to treat a loved one and have some romantic time away Rylstone Manor is the place to book.
