First time staying here, but stopped for food many times as just off M4. Staff welcoming and organised. Easy check in. Nothing too much trouble.

Room very comfortable. Temperature about right on very cold night. Standards of Youngs Pub Hotel very impressive

Quality standard with welcoming staff

An excellent all round stay on a freezing night . Very friendly and helpful staff , good size very comfortable and warm room and excellent meal in the evening and breakfast . Will definitely stay when in the area.

Very good stay

This is a super little Inn with a warm and friendly atmosphere. We had a delicious evening meal and an excellent full English breakfast the following morning. It was heavenly relaxing with friends by the open fire. The bedrooms are well appointed, cosy, clean and the bed was very comfortable.

A really super little Inn with great food!

Comfortable bed, quality bedding, pile carpet, luxury decor and fittings. Dyson Cool unit,  thermostatic radiator, fast WiFi. Spacious bathroom, full size bath, quality shampoos etc.  Staff helpful polite and courteous. Good food. Keep doing what you are doing !

Great attention to every detail.,

Sunday roast , delicious Sunday roast, beef & pork cooked perfectly and amazing service and friendly staff. Easy access from M4, lovely location and a classic British pub. Will see you again soon for sure. 

Sunday afternoon 

Booked a one night stay several months ago through Mr & Mrs Smith. However, having read a few of the more recent reviews, was apprehensive that the stay wasn't going to be great.
Stayed in the Tiny Room (15) which was small but perfect for a night away and tastefully decorated, and with a good size bathroom with Bramley bathroom products.
It would appear that there have been management and staff changes in the last couple of weeks and while some of the staff are still getting to grips with the place, I cannot fault the welcome, the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the service and food. It looks like they have made a good start to address the recent issues.
We had a great stay and would be keen to revisit and see what further improvements are delivered in the coming months.

Friendly Staff

Unfriendly bar staff, no wine in stock, fish totally over cooked and the steak and kidney pie was a joke!  One tiny piece of kidney and a minimal amount of steak.   Our experience  of the Pheasant was incredibly disappointing. Food and service very below par to say the least.  We won't be returning.

Dreadful

After reading the reviews and my Mum having various issue when trying to organise her party I did not hold out much hope. I was pleasantly surprised. On Sunday my mum had a party for 20 and we all stayed over. I am a manager in the industry myself so may be over critical but almost everything was amazing the rooms lovely bed comfortable pillows and linen room spotless only downside I would of liked a bath. Michelle who run everything was amazing doing many different jobs at once the service and food was great. The only small negative was the staff member at the end of the night who asked us to leave was rather rude and abrupt .My Mum had a amazing birthday celebration.

A Great experience

The restaurant experience was very, very poor.  We will not go again, and advise that you don't go either. The food was low quality, over cooked and missing key ingredients like sauce with the prawn starter, butter for the bread. The service wasn't hostile, but heading in that direction....We were a party of seven, where I had recommended this restaurant having eaten there a year ago. I was embarrassed.

Tosh!

We chose The Pheasant Inn based on a review on the Mr & Mrs Smith website. However upon arrival we were made to feel very unwelcome and felt as if we were more of a nuisance to staff than anything else. The customer care was poor. The young receptionist who met us lacked basic manners and she didn't bother asking if we wanted breakfast or supper. This was our first visit and will be our last one. The food and service was unprofessional and disappointing. We don't usually comment on Tripadvisor, but we felt we had to write on this occasion. We did point out these shortcomings when we checked out and we were promised that the manager would ring us. We are still awating a call... two weeks have passed.
