Unspoilt by the years and utterly amazing, like stepping back in time over 400 years ago,  this is a rare find.  The owners are delightful and breakfast was perfect for me.  Will definitely stay again.

What a find!, this place is beautiful and quirky, full of history.
A warm welcome on arrival by Tom and Fran, our room was beautiful and overlooked the large garden. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was so comfortable, I dont ever remember sleeping so well when away from home!
Lovely, peaceful location and perfect for our trip to Thorpe park, which was only 10 minutes away.
Breakfast in the morning was delicious and there was plenty of it.
Couldn't fault this lovely place and we will definitely be back!

Amazing find, beautiful quirky place 

The Old Manor House is at the very opposite end of a continuum from cheerless corporate chains such as Travelodge. It’s a ‘boutique’ hotel before they invented boutique. We loved it: from the warm greeting on entry to the goodbye wave when we left. The hospitality was excellent. The lounge had a real family feel to it and was fascinatingly quirky (in a good way!). We had an excellent bedroom, with a genuine 16th century uneven and creaky floor. Our breakfast was homely and tasty. We would particularly recommend the Old Manor House to foreign visitors seeking a flavour of genuine and traditional English hospitality. 100%!

A lovely, quirky step back in time

Whilst the last review is dated March this superb b and b is busy every day to judge from the visitors book.
The house dates from the 16th century and is fascinating. The room was very comfortable  the breakfast delicious and the owners charming.
We visited en route to Royal Ascot and they carved a horse in the butter at breakfast! Such attention to detail.
Highly recommended.

A gem of a find!
Tom and Fran are delightful. They couldn’t be more helpful.
This place is steeped in history.
The room we stayed in was “The King’s Room”. Full of character and with a very comfy bed and great shower.
Breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
I would highly recommend this place and will definitely return!

Friday night stay at the Old Manor House

Amazing stay! Warmest welcome from Tom and Fran and their adorable family. The room was clean and charming and the bed was so comfy! Great full English in the morning too. Can't recommend this B&B enough. We also went to a lovely pub just 5min drive away by the river as recommended by Tom and Fran.

Lovely stay, great hosts!

This is a charming, 600-year-old B&B, filled with antiques and paintings, and family military photos from the last century. We felt like we'd run away into a fairy tale. The grounds were beautiful and green, complete with ducks and chickens and a fox who visits daily. Full English breakfast was served each morning in the beautiful, old dining room with portraits of ancestors looking on. Doug and Cath were the most delightful hosts! We shared tea in the rose garden and they were super helpful guiding us to local pubs, getting us taxis, etc. I highly recommend The Manor House B&B if you like quiet, peaceful, old, and charming.

Charming 600-year-old B&B!

I spent the evening during a recent work trip and will definitely be staying again for both business and social events in the future. 
I was welcomed by the owner Doug, who was very helpful with local restaurants for dinner that evening.
My room was very clean and quiet and had a lovely view overlooking the rear grounds of the manor house.
After a good nights sleep, in a very comfortable bed, I enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast. Definitely recommend!

What a great find!

Very enjoyable stay in this old manor full of antiquities. Room was spacious and clean.
Floors and stairs are a bit uneven, but then the property is 600 years old. 
Hosts were very welcoming and took time to talk to the guests. 
Breakfast was excellent. 
Great value for money.

Recommend this Manor House

Entering this B&B is like stepping back in time. Purportedly built in the late 1500's it looks like little has changed since then. The accumulated furnishings and pictures on the wall feel like they all could tell tales about previous occupants of this aged property.
The house sits in a big garden, complete with a large lawn and some apparently resident ducks, plus a chicken coop under the trees. Quite how they get on with the fox which crossed in front of us as we took a stroll around is not clear!.
The property sits well back from the (not very busy) road outside, so you are unlikely to be kept awake by any external noises - even with the windows open. In places the property shows the negative side of its age. Virtually every floorboard in our room creaked; and it took half an hour to fill the bath (admittedly with two other couples trying to do the same thing at the same time). Some of the maintenance looked a little "home made". But the beds were wonderfully comfortable; and the place was clean; and with a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits on the room hospitality tray.
Breakfast is pre-ordered on arrival, and was excellent.
Our host Doug was most welcoming and helped us to store our 6 bikes securely overnight.
This stay was a unique and unexpected experience, particularly being so close to both London and Heathrow. Who would have thought that a property of this age was readily available to the paying customer to stay in. It will stick in my memory (for all the right reasons) for a long time.
