We found ourselves without accomodation after travelling for a festival and having accidentally booked the wrong date at a nearby hotel.  The Prestleigh Inn was fully booked but allowed us to stay in their car park, lent us bedding and use of toilet and washing facilities and were so kind and welcoming.  The staff were lovely and really helped us out in difficult circumstances.  Very much appreciated and would highly recommend them, thank you so much for coming to our rescue! Mary and Andy.

great value stayed here for a night recently great friendly staff and also the landlord and landlady were great couldnt do enough for you very nice people will defo be going again here the room was lovely andclean with great views as was the beer garden defo recommend

We had a really great stay. The staff were so friendly and has a lovely dog too. The room was really COMFORTABLE with lots of tea and coffee. There was a bar and restaurant we didn't get to use due to a late stay but it did have a great outdoor seating area :) would definitely stay again if in the area

Great stay

The new owners upgraded me to a double for nothing. Overnighting for work as a driver. 
I had the beer battered cod which was very good and the full English in the morning. 
The hosts were generally very helpful and would reccomended. 
Great views over the Bath showground (although I don't know what happens there) from the beer garden. 
Will be coming back when over this way. 


Friendly locals pub

I have just returned from a night away at Prestleigh Inn, and I have to say I am impressed. Right from the initial contact we had with Prestleigh Inn we were impressed and it only got better. We were going away for one night to celebrate one of our friend's 30th birthday, who has a fondness for cocktails! We were originally looking at going to a Wetherspoon's for cheap drinks, so were asking about recommendations for taxis but after discussing this we decided against it. Then after talking to a lovely woman called Esther, we were sent a cocktail list and a special offer for cocktails there. There was one particular cocktail that the birthday girl wanted to try so I let them know and they were more than happy to accommodate. 

When we arrived Monday evening the lady behind the bar (we didn't catch her name but we assumed she was an owner) was so lovely, she showed us to our room went through times for the evening meal and breakfast, and access after closing etc. The room was lovely, albeit small but the space was well used and beautifully presented, with tea making facilities and an amazing view. 

We went for our evening meal just gone 7pm and was met by the same woman who welcomed us earlier. She apologised as a member of staff was sick and the resident cocktail maker wasnt in that night so she would be attempting them. We placed our drink and food order snd began to relax! The cocktails were great (on the stronger side which was great for us) and the food was phenomenal! 

The next morning was chilled, knowing our breakfast was preordered we packed up, got our bags to the car and went for food. The breakfast was as good as the evening meal! The woman serving had a real 'mum' feel and couldn't do enough for us and kept us supplied with plenty of tea and toast. It was amazing after a night of drinks! 

All in all it was a fantastic stay, I just wish we could have stayed longer! 

My only niggle throughout the entire stay is a slight comment when we were receiving our welcome speel in the room... the woman said that the timings evening meal would depend on when the chef decided to come in... this seemed a strange comment to make and suggests they don't have proper control over staff. However, every member of staff we encounted were lovely, they all asked how we were and smiled when we passed. The whole vibe of the place was a family run, relaxed pub in the heart of the country village life. 

Classic Country Pub 

We had booked two rooms a twin for our sons and a double for us. Very reasonable prices too.
We stayed en-route to the south coast from a break in the midlands and this was a perfect spot to break the journey. 
We were met by a bright and cheerful smile from the new landlady and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived until we left in the morning. 
Rooms were both quiet, clean and very comfortable. 
We had dinner in the restaurant that evening, very tasty meals, extremely reasonably priced, portion sizes were very good and all served with the same cheery smile that had greeted us on arrival.

Amazingly friendly welcome and great food.

Had a lovely stay here. Friendly welcoming owners, nothing to much trouble, even welcomed my dog. The  rooms were nice clean and comfortable, booked a twin and a single but was upgraded free of charge. Only niggle is lack of seat in room and no hair dryer. Plenty of parking and fabulous views. We will defo be back

Lovely little pub and Inn, Debbie and her staff were very friendly and kind enough to make us dinner when the kitchen was closed. Thank you very much. And Winston was great too our puppy loved him....

Impromptu night at Prestleigh

Was attending as a supplier at the show ground. This is the closest place to stay including food.
Stayed fri to sunday. Had room 4 had its own en-suite which was great. Nicely decorated room & updated bathroom.
Shower was a good size, larger than average.
O day of arrival, i didn't hold much regard to what to expect. The pub itself looked like it needed dragging into current century. Old looking and dated. Was clean.
Bar staff was very friendly. Happened to be the NEW LANDLORD.
Had a cheeky lunch time disaronno & coke £3 with jack daniels marinated chicken wings, fries & slaw. 
Was nicest i have eaten in a long time.
Bed was so comfy was like sleeping on clouds.
For my dinner i had soup & ploughmans. Again all fresh & tasty.
Had many long chats with the chef. Ex military, held a rosset in his past.
For the saturday dinner i had sirloin steak & fries. Amazing. Cooked m.rare just as i like it. Landlady was attentive.
Overall i would go back.
Only a couple of negatives, she said she would resolve....
No chair so could blow dry hair in mirror.
No decaf coffee. I don't drink caffeine.
Didn't supply soap/hand wash, or little bottles or pump of shampoo/cond. Was told that they are plastic free.
This was when the government brought in regular hand sanitising/washing due to covid-19 and felt this was out of order i had no way to wash my own hands. Who takes their own soap or tub of hand wash for a trip away? Used my shampoo, i luckily took.

Cook breakfast was extra £6 per day, but worth it. Had everything 3bacon,2 saus,eggs (choice fry,poach scram),beans,mush,1 black pudd,1 hash brown, toms.

Weekend stay inc breakfast

I had a great stay when I visited the room was comfy it can be a bit noisy if you want an early night as the rooms are over a pub but not enough to stop you from sleeping .
The room was comfy and had a good nights sleep .  The staff here are brilliant can’t do enough for you and the locals are very friendly . 
 Looking forward to staying again later in the year .
