Called at the pub for lunch with family after being told the was excellent, after looking through the menu I decided to go traditional and ordered the fish and chip, when it was delivered to the table all looked good apart from the fish looking a bit over cooked, on starting on my fish I soon discovered the it self was OK the batter did not taste so nice it tasted greasy like it had been cooked in old oil, I turned to my wife who had also ordered the fish to see she was removing the battery from the fish she also said it didn't taste nice and it was greasy, we continued with the meal but not eating any of the batter, all in our group finished our food and at no point during our meal did anyone of the staff come and ask if the food was OK if they had I would of told them, only when a member of staff came to collect the plates were we asked about the food that's when I told the waiter that the batter on the fish was greasy and not nice and his response was ooh dear then walked off with the plates, I didn't say anymore for fear of spoiling our family dinner out so we left thing I will not return.

Fabulous room with the most amazing four poster comfortable bed, staff were friendly and informative. Really great stay and fantastic breakfast. It was really quiet and felt completely relaxed, also helpful seating with a desk in room. Location wise you can drive into Shrewsbury within 10 minutes.

Huge room and bed!

Stayed here for a couple of nights on the way up to the Lake district once on the way up and once on the way back. Lovely pub with excellent food and service. Because it is on the  river seven, it does get very busy on hot days, and later in the evenings, the mosquitos come out to play !. Rooms were comfortable but some of the ensuite bathrooms were small and no shelves to put your toiletries on.

Beautiful location,the place was immaculate,the room was perfect well decorated with a lovely view.We only stopped for one night and only had breakfast but everything was brilliant,not sure if they cater for weddings but in my opinion it would ideal……I would definitely recommend 👍

Excellent stopover.

We stayed overnight as a rest stop. 

Arrived at lunchtime and had really nice sandwich lunch in their really big garden overlooking the river, followed by coffees, which was a lovely afternoon. 

The pub is in a nice location- after checking in to our rooms we went for a walk through the village and along the river. 

Evening meal in the pub/restaurant was lovely  - it's a gastropub style menu and the food was tasty and well prepared. 

Rooms were nice and comfy and breakfast the next morning was delicious too. 

All the staff were friendly and helpful... particular mention to Charley who gave us great service at lunch and in the evening.  

Great food, great location, great hotel. 

Visited several times in last few months but this visit was to attend a function.  Very nice ambiance with a lovely little separate room for us.  Nice little buffet food selection with very attentive, friendly staff always around to help.  Clean and tidy with good car park facilities.

It's billed as a B&B but much better than that! I needed a stop over to break a journey. Took a small room but was really comfortable and cosy. Really comfortable bed,  big easy to operate TV.  Staff really nice. Ate in the pub downstairs. Food was good but not cheap.  Ev point a real bonus needed to access a Q code on phone or log in. Right on the river. Will stay again

Great Place, recommended. 

We couldn’t be more pleased with our rooms, and the staff were so helpful and efficient on check-in.

The restaurant food was great; the only thing would be that more veggie and vegan options would be good :) 

Would definitely recommend and will be putting forward as a suggestion for future stays for the charity we’re away on ‘business’ for.

Excellent rooms and service on check-in

Came to visit post a Sunday afternoon river walk. We decided to eat outside in the spacious riverside garden area, although we would later find this to be a mistake. 2 of of our party ordered  starters, followed by 2 carnivorous roast dinners, 1 veggie roast and a baguette. We payed in advance, splitting the bill in half and notified when ordering, that we wanted the food served together. We were subsequently served our 2x starters and the veggie roast. We took this one on the chin, but after at least half an our, we were wondering when the meaty mains were going to be served. We were then condescendingly told by the waitress, that this was because we had ordered in the garden. We politely explained that we asked when ordering, that the orders be served in order as a group. After a further 15 minutes we still had not received the main courses, so asked to speak with a manager. The waitress, phased about our insolent request, begrudgingly summoned a member of staff with supposed superior rank. We were then argued with by an apparent assistant manager, claiming the acting manager was on holiday, so there was nothing we could do with our complaint. We have eaten here before, and food and service was good, but after this treatment by staff, will not be coming again. Such a shame as it is a beautiful setting on the river Severn, marred by rude and belligerent staff.

A joy to have an air conditioned room in overwhelming heat outside. The room was comfortable and to a high standard. 
Well positioned as a handful of minutes from the A49. Close to Shrewsbury and RAF Shawbury.
Enjoyed a very good breakfast and evening meal. Staff were attentive and upbeat.
