My second visit here for a short autumn break and it was lovely.I asked for a nice large room and was not disappointed.Fantastic sea views and large balcony.Very clean room and big shower.Very friendly staff who made a big fuss of my little dog.A week after I got home hotel phoned as I had left things behind!They very kindly sent them to me.Very good service.

Just perfect fabulous staff

Back in room 18. Double aspect and pretty balcony. Expansive sea views. Sound of crashing waves to lull you to sleep. Very well appointed to a good standard. Overall a pleasant hotel with a friendly and engaging team. Clean. Decent shower. Short walk into town. Pity about the plastic plant in the room, easily hidden in a drawer. Perfectly adequate breakfast but nothing exceptional. We shall return. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Return visit 

Lovely hotel. Glad to be able to park onsite. Room 30 - very spacious king size with balcony and sea view. Modern bathroom and everything I needed in the room. Good view of sundown. Quiet with windows closed. Room 28 - lovely single room with balcony and seaview. Great breakfast with large buffet and hot food to order. Freshly cooked croissants. Lights in corridors are on sensors so you don't get light shining under your door all night. Great location for town.

Great hotel

I booked a 2 night stay for me and my wife 13-15 Sep 23. The price was expensive, but we don't mind payng for quaity. Sadly the experience fell very short of the quality we'd expected. The room was good, but the food was a disappointment and the hotel public rooms were very tired. The staff were poorly trained.  Our price included a dinner. When I booked, the menu was good, with a full menu and good choices. But when we arrived we were given a choice from a very limited menu and had to pre-order. Our starter of prawn cocktails were straight out of the 70s. Soggy, watery prawns, limp lettuce and a thin and tasteless Marie Rose sauce. Quite nasty. My wife's choice was chicken with a mushroom sauce, but with no evidence of the mushrooms. Tasteless and probably straight out of the freezer. My steak was so tough it was inedible and I left half. The chips were from a packet and there was no other garnish. Not even a small grilled tomato, peas or a mushroom in sight. And our puddings were out of the chilled cabinet. Again, horrid. We were told this was the "Resident's Menu" and that they had stopped the far better menu I had expected, as it was the end of the season. Had I known, I would not have booked. Next morning my wife ordered haddock with poached egg. The fish was uncooked and slimy and the egg was only part cooked and was very liquid.  Again, quite horrid. The public rooms would have made an IKEA store ashamed. Old, tired furniture, and in the "Snug" off the bar, there was a temporary shelf by the window and a large (5 Gallon) empty mayonnaise bucket and a duckboard aginst the wall. Hardly comforting decor and it felt like we were sitting in someone's garage. 
I paid £492 for the 2 nights and our only extras were 2 glasses of white wine and a bottle of red off an A4 "Wine list" which was a well-thumbed typed sheet of stained and crumpled paper. All the faults could have been rectified with a bit of effort and at little extra cost and showed us that the staff just didn't care. We shall not be returning. 

Horrid Hotel

Yet another perfect stay at the Bedford as a large group of friends who do this annually. 
As usual the staff were great, room spotless and the new carpet in reception and first floor looked very stylish. Dog friendly too!

100% recommend

Just returned from a weekend, our venue for an Irish Pipers' gathering. It was perfect for our needs and very friendly helpful staff. Spotlessly clean, freshly decorated inside and out. Great food and bar. Great ambience and wonderful sea views, close to town centre. 

A perfect location

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Bedford Hotel! Friendly, well trained staff, good sized refurbished room, very quiet but the best thing was the food. Exceptional quality and variety of meals, must have a brilliant chef! Highly recommend.

What a great hotel !

Friendly staff, good location, rooms clean and tidy, good selection of breakfast and restaurant food is excellent. Nothing was to much trouble and bonus there is parking available if need. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous stay

A retuning visit to the Bedford Hotel again a exceptional stay. On arrival Susan on reception was again very helpful ,I had asked for a fan to be in the room (30) but just giving my surname she informed me that there was a fan in the room straight away. The room was lovely, very clean and spacious,the bathroom was beautifully decorated with a fabulous shower. All the staff in the hotel are lovely, in the bar Annabelle was very helpful in local knowledge. The food in the restaurant ….. Breakfast excellent loads of choice… Evening meal set 3 course again excellent …. The staff brilliant. A well run establishment  Colin. Looking forward to seeing you all again.
