Absolutely disgusted, We had five rooms booked for this hotel on the 19th of November, after a five hour drive we went to check in at 3 o’clock Only to find the hotel closed!  We were going to the Skegness car track so went and then carried on ringing Ringing the number for the hotel to see what was happening and it was not available, carried on trying until 7 o’clock in the evening when we ended up phoning the pub next door to ask them if they be kind enough to see if the hotel was open only to be told everything was still in darkness. This was  through Booking.com. Nobody had the courtesy to contact us to say that the hotel would be closed and as I’ve said before absolutely disgusted and would say to anybody who was thinking about booking this hotel look at elsewhere!

There was 6 of us booked 3 rooms in April for a night in Novembe. Only to get there to find it closed there had plenty of time to contact us but nothing until we were at the door knocking and then we got a email stating our booking has been cancelled and hotel closed so had to get last minute hotel THE QUEENS HOTEL a few doors up as did other poeple did who had been let down

Disgusting treatment

the hotel was lovely and clean and the decor good, nice wallpaper, looked like new velour sparkly beds and polite staff , but ....i found the maintenance an issue. there was a hole in the wall just above the single bed, window didnt close properly , bathroom window had no handle and was kept closed with a long screw sticking out the wall, there was no heating even though there were radiators and it is october, in fact when we in the room we had our coats on. The breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely. overall i just couldnt stop laughing at the absudity of it , trying to be upmarket but not quite hitting it. it is very close to town but unfortuately for us was loated next to a club and people kept pooping out of it for a smoke and were very very loud, this obviuosly is not the hotels fault but i really had very little sleep

Absolute disgusting hotel  the rooms were filthy and furniture falling to bits there was stains all over the walls and carpets bathroom was dirty and smelly reported problems with toilet no less than 3 times nobody could be bothered to fix it breakfast was served on beer stained tables the staff couldn't be bothered to set the table correctly total trash avoid at all costs

We was made very welcome during our 4 day stay. All the staff are very friendly and chatty. The rooms are superb. The decor is amazing too throughout the hotel. The food and drinks at the hotel were beautiful also. Me and my Husband had a very nice stay in a beautiful hotel which was very close to the beach, pier and other amenities with just a short walk to the shops,arcades and restaurants and walks down to the beach. We will stay here again when visiting Skegness

Excellent stay

I had paid previously and then check out the reviews.  X2 sofa beds and double bed we had booked and paid for in the reviews and it said it was a small sofa not sofa bed and a small sofa bed and a bed, when I called the hotel to ask about the review they assured me it was a double bed and X2 double sofa beds, when we arrived unfortunately the review was correct m, when I spoke to them about it they where extremely rude and would not help us at all, I spent the evening in the floor there was also a leg missing on the sofa so couldn't even sit on it, we also had no blind so anyone could see us through the window.

Avoid the suite, FALSE ADVERTISING

Second  year  staying here.   Yes the rooms are basic but they are clean and comfy.  The staff can't do enough for you.  The breakfasts are good and nicely cooked.  The outside area is pleasant and kept clean.  So much so we have pre booked for next year.  (also brilliant club right next door with entertainment on most nights.)

We were appalled I have serious health condition and I was in tears when I looked at the room, im devastated I'm on low income and this was a rest from treatment, please look at the reviews and learn from our mistake.

After reading  the reviews on booking.com which seemed like it was ok but basic we booked. I then read the reviews on here and we were very concerned about our stay. 
Good points great location and very friendly staff. 
Negatives
Room was very unloved. We only had a bath No shower which might have been me misreading the details. No toilet roll holder. Empty dispensers in the room. Very thin curtains. Kept our shoes on as wasn’t confident about how clean the carpet was. There was a hole in the plaster of the wall above the single bed. Paint coming off the wall.

Not for us

This is a disgusting place. Creepy, smelled of stale smoke, horrible room, horrible people. Do not prepay! I was put in a single room that was nothing like the picture on the website (see my pictures). Since I checked in late in the evening, I stayed the night but was up early and found another place to stay. The bathroom toilet was old and wouldn't flush, there was something gross on the bedroom wall, the mattress was stained, disgusting, thin, very old and extremely uncomfortable with springs poking me. There was an unlocked door blocked by the bed and some crazy mechanical noise started behind that door around 7 am. I asked for the return of the four additional nights I had pre-paid and while the man at the front desk said he would authorize the reimbursement through Booking.com, the hotel then refused to refund my money and Booking.com was useless. You’ll be sorry!
