Without a doubt this was the best accommodation we’ve ever had in this part of Somerset.  We (2 couples from overseas) spent 11 days in The Square House Barn (self catering) and then finished up with 3 nights of B&B in the main house. Everything proved to be of a very high standard, with quality furnishings and fittings throughout. Superb breakfasts (masses of fresh fruit and grains as well as hot food choices).  The owner, Kathy (and dog Archie), could not have been more welcoming and at the same time completely non-intrusive.  When we were in The Barn, it was like having a friendly and helpful neighbour next door!  
It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the heart of the village, with pub, shops, post office, etc.  Very quiet and peaceful location, and a garden to sit out in and enjoy.  Internet connection was good.
We would most definitely stay there again, but Kathy will be retiring before our next visit.  Meanwhile, whilst it’s still available, we would thoroughly recommend the Square House to anyone wanting first class B&B or a self-catering stay in the very well-appointed barn.

Perfect Stay

We stayed here with our family, 7 of us as we were attending a family wedding in the area. Superb and warm welcome and lovely rooms and magnificent  tasty breakfasts with plenty of choices. We met the charming owner and also her lovely little dog Archie. We really enjoyed our stay and if we are in the area again will certainly want to stay again.

Weekend Family stay

I stayed for two nights here while visiting family - absolute treasure of a place. The rooms are large and immaculately clean and well appointed, the owner Kathy and her dog Archie are friendly and welcoming, and my room had a superb shower. Breakfast also was excellent - great choice of organic cereals, fruits, and a cooked option - day 1 I was conservative, day 2 I loaded up on everything! I may also have helped myself to several of the large cookies that were in my room.

Can't recommend it enough and so it's a real shame that Kathy is retiring.

Ridiculously good!

We stayed for two nights in connection with a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our host was friendly (without being overbearing), and relaxed. She had a cute Westie who was pootling around. Room was spotless and large, with all the comforts required. Brandy, sherry and cookies were available each evening, which was a good touch. Breakfast was served round a big table - as well as a full English, there was cereal, toast, croissants, yoghurt, fruit and nuts. Very nice. Thoroughly recommend.

Charming

I stayed here for four nights with my elderly mother last week and can't recommend it highly enough!  What a shame Kathy is retiring soon - I would have loved to have stayed again!

The bedrooms were quiet, spacious and beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and excellent showers.  There was a very comfortable lounge available for exclusive use of guests (only 3 bedrooms) and TV/wi-fi here as well as up in the bedrooms.

Breakfast was served around a big dining table and was all organic with a huge choice!

As a hostess, Kathy couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - Archie, the dog too!

There was good provision for parking and the house is just a short walk away from the village shops and pub.
