I very much enjoyed  our meal in the pub garden. Food ordered in bar ,  arrived  promptly and was piping hot, good variety in menu, full meal or sandwiches available at reasonable prices. Dogs welcome in lovely garden, staff friendly and efficient.      Will certainly return .

Visited with friends for lunch this week. Good selection on menu, but we all knew exactly what we were going to order. Best Chicken Kiev EVER! Compliments to the chef. Very satisfied customers, thank you. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Room was excellent and well decorated with plenty of room the heating was easy to use and with plenty of teas and coffee the food was superb and reasonably priced and the service was excellent. 
The outside areas were clean and well maintained with a large heated area under cover 

Base for exploration 

Warmly greeted and shown to my accommodation in a building alongside the pub. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Nice meal in the pub, slept well in a comfy bed and a great breakfast and checked out and carried on with my journey. Couldn’t fault the place and couldn’t fault the staff and will stay again.

Lovely place

Room:  Modern - newly decorated? - room in the stable block adjacent to the pub.  Room comprised a downstairs sitting room and bathroom (full size bath and separate large shower) and an upstairs bedroom.  All spottlessly clean.  Good evening meal and breakfast provided.  Parking close might be a bit of a challenge in the early evening but there is plenty of street (country lane) parking in the vicinity.

Great modern room at traditional pub

Stayed for one night - great service throughout from the staff with check-in and fitting us in for dinner. There were two rooms - a living room and a bedroom which were finished to a very high standard. The full breakfast was excellent - would definitely return

Traditional setting but modern room

After too many months shielding, we returned to our favourite hostelry. Welcomed back as "long lost friends" and thoroughly enjoyed lunch inside. As usual the food was excellent with  a great choice from the now extensive menu.  Service, quality, presentation and value all to a very high standard. Thanks to all in the team for a great lunchtime. Stay safe.

A welcome return to a very welcoming hostelry.

My first trip out after lockdown other than a trip to the village shop.  The White Lion have put customer and staff safety as a priority.  Food and drinks are ordered and paid for via their website so no need whatsoever to go inside.  Garden has plenty of tables and parasols. There is even a one way system in the garden.  Table with hand sanitiser when you arrive.  Food is served in cardboard boxes with bamboo cutlery and plastic glasses.  Food was delicious and plentiful.  The White Lion is to be congratulated.

Fabulous after lockdown lunch

Took my sister for a lunchtime snack; hadn't seen her in ages so recommended The White Lion as I'd had a nice meal there a couple of years ago). She opted for the soup of the day which was pea and ham, and I asked for a bowl of chips. The beer (Goodens Gold) and wine were expensive but fine. The food, however, was poor. My sister was polite whilst eating very thin green soup with a few lumps of bacon floating in it. My chips turned up in a pretentious miniature frying basket and, although dark brown, were soggy and limp. Heaven only knows how chef messed up two dishes which are basically the simplest to make!

Embarrassing lunchtime

Great staff, great room very clean, great food and beautiful area. Value for money excellent. Already booked for next month. Would recommend for both business or pleasure. Wifi took a little while to connect with but a minor point.
