Due to my diabetes, I require a certain level of glucose intake which I made the establishment aware of prior to my arrival. Throughout the night I found myself in need of a sugary beverage to support my condition and headed to the vending machine. I only had cash in note form which wasn't accepted, I then made my way to the reception and requested change to utilise the machine. I was met with frustration and negligence from one member of staff and was denied change, this was most disappointing. The reason given was that she had cashed up and didn't want to support my need. I pushed back on the unacceptable level of service which then led the receptionist to shout at me and told me to go and F myself, whilst demanding my room number so she could let further staff know who it was that messed up her banking. Ultimately this level of service is beyond poor and outrageously unacceptable. I'm displeased, underwhelmed and saddened by the whole attack towards a paying customer.

Shocked by the poor hospitality and due care and attention

Very convenient amenities with safe off-street parking, and cozy pub restaurant. The room was large and clean with convenient mirrors. The full breakfast option was fantastic with hot, fresh food and many options. Loved the soda stream and ice machine!

Jet-lagged haven!

All staff were friendly other than this one Asian man with glasses who worked the night shift. Somehow when I checked the lady gave me 2 keys one being mine and other belonging to someone else, when I couldn’t get into my room later that night I went down reception to resolve the problem and that horrible man wouldn’t believe what I was telling him and I quote told me to “get the f*** out!” All the while I’m a paying customer out for the weekend with my family. My young son was scared because he wouldn’t let us in our room in the end I showed my confirmation and it was resolved but this complete A! ruined the trip in my eyes. I won’t stay at this hotel again because of him!

Avoid, Rude night staff!

Really enjoyable stay at the hotel but very understaffed. That said, the staff who were on duty were brilliant and a special shout out to Aaron who coped so well on his own behind the bar. 
Room was great and the food very nice. Lovely stay but more staff needed (can probably now say that about every hotel in the UK sadly).

Beds very comfy and front desk staff lovely and helpful. Room was large and great view. Issue with number of beds resolved, no problem (again, the helpful staff). Only - quite significant - problem is temperature - v hard to control, don't think responded to controls? - and lack of opening windows. (Also - Brewer's Fare breakfast doesn't actually provide all on menu, and various other issues. At kids eat free price it's okay - but at full price would be really annoyed.)

Good but please allow windows to open!

We enjoyed our stay and at hotel. The place was clean and the staffs were very friendly and ready to help. The only thing is that the steps made noise when you walking on it, but apart from that everything from check in to check out was awesome. Food was superb 

Great place to stay

Great Place, Just opp to Sea, Walkable distrance to pier. Excellent view from hote. Great Food and Great staff. Unlimited tea and coffee, Excellent breakfast and unlimted breakfast for kids free. over all great expeience. 

Simply Superb

We had a sea view and staff were very friendly. The room is small, but nice. 
We requested a baby cot as we have a 15 month child. Unfortunately, the cots used by the hotel are of very low quality and do not have any mattress or padding. The bottom of the cot is made up of odd wooden panels and is lumpy. Padding with cushions or covers made it unsafe, so we were not able to use it. The staff agreed they would not use the cot for their own children either, but were unable to change it as it is the hotel standard. 
Cleaning staff managed to miss emptying the bins on two occasions. 

Stay was fine but no suitable baby cot available

Booked my mum in to for a stay whilst visiting. It was her birthday and all the staff were brilliant and allowed me to pop in before mum checked in to put flowers, balloons etc in her room as a surprise and they even left her a birthday gift and card from the P.inn as well.  Cannot fault the super friendly and helpful staff.   I would recommend a stay here.

Excellent service

Reception staff were very friendly and cheerful on arrival. The brewers fayre attached is probably one of the better ones if honest and Kira behind the bar is great always cheerful / welcoming and always remembers a face. Kira is certainly an asset to this premier inn. I used to stay at the Premier inn at East Maines Basildon where I work very often but will come to Southend Esplanade Premier Inn from now on even though I have to drive 30 mins
