The site has a mix of residents and tourists. Some of the owner occupied caravans need better upkeep which didn't bother us, but might others. Dogs allowed on site and in rented caravan. Bar was closed for winter which was a shame. We were advised about this. Nice place to be for a few days. Caravan owner helpful and easy to reach. 

The setting is marvellous for access the the seafront at the natural end (no amusements, rides etc). Great for dog walks. 

Receptionist was polite and friendly.  Barrier entry with key fob . (£10 refundable deposit)
Toilet block requires a key for entry (also £10 refundable deposit) I have to say the toilet blocks have greatly improved (last stay 2017), they are now clean, fresh smelling,tidy and warm ...yes heated 👍, which was appreciated in February! we stayed in our Motorhome on touring pitch which was a flat grassed area with electric hook. Chemical Toilet disposal point and drive-over grey waste facilities, this area is slightly tight to manoeuvre into & we couldn’t find the grey waste drain as it was covered with a heap of gravel! I did mention this to the receptionist and she said they would rectify this.
Good location for historical docks , Gun Wharf shopping centre and cross channel ferries. 
Don’t be put off my previous poor reviews ...it has greatly improved ,Yes there appears to a permanent residential toilet block which does require refurbishing,but Tourers don’t have access to them.
I can’t comment on the other facilities (Nelson bar etc.) as we did use them.
They have improved & we was happy with our stay,we will return.

Motorhome touring pitch

The staff were friendly and courteous, the facilities were clean and tidy. The park is excellently positioned for beach and Portsmouth Town Centre.

Nelsons Bar was competively priced, friendly and the entertainment excellent.

The site was a little more expensive than others but this could be because of location.

We were in our own camper and awning. The location pitch was excellent close to the club house/pub and Toilet block.

There is no longer a swimming pool, but there is a public swimming pool next door.

Great Weekend

Like many other reviews I can only agree with the poor ones and we should have looked at reviews first but as we were in France with limited WiFi access.
When booking we were told we would be arriving after 18.30 due to the ferry from France, the receptionist said there is a security man in a ‘hut’ who will direct you.
He wasn’t there, we waited, walked round, asked at the bar, and rang various phone numbers to no avail and as we were about to pull off after 20minutes he showed up.
Now it was dark and raining quite hard at this point and he just pointed to us to a gateway to drive down with the caravan, the site is very poorly lite making things even more difficult, some other guy pointed us onto a field pitch 7, it was so muddy it was difficult to drive on. Well, for the price of the we paid (just over £40, with electric!) we were expecting a hard standing fully serviced! How silly we were, and things got worse, about 11.30 the site became quite threateningly noisy and then at midnight some guys decided they would move their caravan and a big van started hitching it up also making quite a row. The entrance to the toilets does not look nice however the toilets were clean, not the same for the showers though. There are 4 soap dispensers, all empty! We complaining in the morning but without any success because the owners were out of the country, so my husband dictated a letter and we are waiting for a response, we consider we paid 5 star price for zero star site (how it gets 3 stars is beyond me). So we plan to get in touch with Portsmouth trading standards to complain, not because we asked for a partial refund but to stop these people from ripping other people off. I hope the pictures are an indication of how poor this site is, the stones shown have been put down due to the flooding and the rain, in truth the field should not have been in use at all. 
There is also evidence of the ghetto they have going on, and the residents walking their dogs etc, disgraceful.

Dreadful mistake

You can now see on their website that they have removed the swimming pool which was advertised when I booked well I about a month ago and went beginning of July I asked if swimming pool and pool bar was open they said yes so I booked it as being disabled I need a swimming pool. I have been touring for 20 years and never been to a site as bad in my life and paid £42.00 a night the pool hasn't been opened for a year it has a scruffy cover on it with overgrown weeds just like all the site, no pool bar, and no restaurant.I feel sorry for families who have saved up and end up with this site.I KNOW HOMELESS PEOPLE HAVE TO LIVE SOMEWHERE BUT WHEN BOOKING THEY SHOULD TELL YOU THEY LIVE IN THE CARAVANS.I have put a complaint in and the least they should do is refund my money.Why havent they been shut down ??????

DISGUSTING KEEP AWAY

False advertising - advertises outdoor pool with beach bar and bar restaurant with full menu - it has neither.  The pool has been closed for over a year and the pool and surroundings look horrendous and overgrown, along with the grounds and planters.  Old caravans housing homeless and migrant workers rather than holidaymakers.  An absolute rip off. They know it and don't care.  They shouldn't be getting away with it.

Poor quality throughout, with caravans cramped onto the site.
Everything is cheap and poor quality, from the accommodation, through the maintenance, to the on site bar and 'restaurant' - which was dirty and poor.
The swimming pool was closed as it was a health & safety risk, and as such was a festing pit of stagnant green water.
Would never come back.

We camped here while cycling through the area. The site is mostly filled with static caravans and long term residents. The camping pitches were very small and scruffy. For campers there were 4 showers, 12 wash basins but only 2 toilet cubicles. 

The pool was closed and looked like it had been for some time, there was a bar (karaoke) and a burger van if you want to eat. They describe the site as a leisure park on their website but I dont think a bar and a burger van make up a leisure park. We took a very long walk into Southsea to eat.

The camping is expensive at £32 for 1 tent and 2 people and you have to pay a £10 deposit for the toilet key and a £10 deposit for the key fob to open the car barrier, we didn't need this because we were on cycles but the receptionist insisted and I couldn't be bothered to argue the point. We lost it and so another £10 spent on a very poor campsite.

Leisure Park? A bar and a burger van is what you get

Making the booking it took a while for them to answer the phone, however they did e mail  back quickly. All the reception staff and site staff are friendly and keen to help .
Shower block poor quality and run down , WCs had paper all over the cubical floors and the odd cigarette end . Showers very powerful and generally good , overall place could be cleaner { Note supposed to be opening a new shower block any time soon }.
Hook up area generally ok , quite a lot of traffic on site , and road layout means you are parked right next to access routes for traffic not ideal , a couple of Mods on scooters with overloud exhaust pipes wandered aimlessly round the site during the evening. 
{ Thought Brighton was up the coast a bit }.
Lots of discarded cigarette ends all over site along with lots of rubbish under the hedges. 
A few of the regular camp goers appeared to swear a lot and spit on the ground.
Come 10.30ish the whole site did quieting down and we did have a good nights sleep.
So ok for one night and site really does need a rethink .

Camper van overnight stay

I should have read the reviews before booking, I normally do but this was a spur of the moment add on while the lovely weather lasted. Check in was slow, I was ignored for five minutes then given a pitch number and told someone would meet us there to solve any problems! Still waiting for her! The enclosure we were I was littered with cigarette ends. Only one shower block was working for the whole touring site and it wasn’t clean. My 1 star is for the power of the showers, when they were working! Toilets were not properly cleaned and usually needed flushing before use. We were told the second shower block was being refurbished and would be open this week. No sign of that and not much going on there. There was supposed to be a laundry, people were also told that would be operational in a couple of days but there was no sign of one. The restaurant wasn’t open just a bar.  The swimming pool was just a tiny child’s one also not open. 
For the price charged ( we paid £37.50 pn) it was appalling. We tour a lot and this is by far the worst site we’ve come across. 
We left early, partly to travel whilst it was cool but frankly couldn’t wait to leave. Shame,the situation of the Park is good and and if they picked their socks up a lot it could be fabulous.
