The perfect overnight stay in a super old Georgian mansion house.  Carole was a wonderful hostess.  Very comfortable. Impressive grounds and a great breakfast.  For us it was the start of a great biking ride over Holme Moss and down through the Peak District.  

A great find 

We stayed at Thorpe House on a weekend break, visiting nearby Hebden Bridge and Haworth. Carole is the perfect host and the property is an impressive country house sitting in beautiful grounds. The breakfast is highly recommended!

Yorkshire hospitality

Two nights in wonderful, unexpected luxury. Enter the grounds through the stone pillars, and you are met with a grand drive, manicured lawns, and a friendly welcome.  The house is a typically Yorkshire Georgian mansion, with a wealth of period features. The place is beautifully presented, immaculately clean, and very welcoming. For much less than the price  of a small room in a chain hotel, we had a vast room with shuttered, full-height windows presenting views into the five acres of grounds, and a huge bathroom with all mod cons.  The lady owner who runs the establishment (apparently single-handed) is extremely friendly and glad to provide the background and history of the place.  You will not be disappointed with the breakfast, and you will not need to eat again until the evening if you have the full English.  A very pleasant stay, unexpected, and highly recommended.

Excellent B&B in a Georgian Mansion

What a place - HUGE rooms! Really well appointed and you can get lost in the beds... Lots of information about the place and the local area. We'd definitely  go back. 

Make sure you have the Full English - VERY substantial!

Full of history

The house and grounds are lovely, even in winter. We were well looked after and really enjoyed our short, one night, stay. The twin beds inour room were very comfortable. The English breakfast was well-cooked, high quality and delicious. I thought the coffee very good and people say I'm fussy!
We hope to stay again next time we are in the area

Warm welcome in a lovely house

Wonderful Hotel, building and grounds full of character. The owner could not have been more helpful in ensuring our stay (on New Years Eve) was most enjoyable. 
The room we stayed in was extremely spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities that you would expect to find. We would certainly book again if the need arises... highly recommended

Great Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Thorpe House. The location was great and only a short walk down in to Ripponden. Our room was spacious with a lovely view over the garden and pond. The owners were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Also lovely breakfast in the morning! Would recommend.

Great stay

Stayed over whilst visiting friends. Beautiful period old manor house, full of character. We were very well looked after, lovely hosts made our stay so pleasant. Highly recommend, will definitely be back!!!

Thorpe House - Lovely place to stay

An excellent b and b. Excellent hospitality in a splendid house with a real feeling of tv series “Gentleman Jack”. Warm and comfortable room. Wifi with strong signal. Very good traditional full breakfast. 

Fascinating house, great hospitality

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working locally. Room was great (high ceilings, period features, clean, comfy) with bonus of great view over the pond/lake. Plentiful breakfast in the morning and nice, friendly staff rounded this off as a good stay.
