A delightful hotel rather more suited to mature guests than young families. Not really suited to those with mobility challenges as it has no lifts.
Rooms comfortable with well equipped bathroom.
Our room had an outstanding view of the harbour and other islands.
Amazing, freshly cooked breakfast with local produce. Dinner menu featured locally caught fish and seafood beautifully cooked and served by  excellent staff.
Situated 5 minutes walk from the harbour quay, the hotel is ideal for guests wanting to use boats to the other islands.
The staff were excellent, the front office manager and his team being outstanding especially dealing with transport challenges caused by bad weather.

Excellent service in every way made for an excellent holiday 

Just blown away by bad comments on this site.  Our room lovely, we did request no feathers due to allergy, and on arrival had to ask for items to be removed, but from beginning to end room and staff wonderful, nothing too much effort.  Establishment unable to offer lunch which can be difficult when not in a position to seek other establishments.  Anything i.e sandwiches would be better than nothing.  .  I really do not understand poor reviews.   Hope to be back again in 2024.  You’re great!

Great hotel.    Just go go go xx

A very warm welcome from the reception team. We arrived a couple of hours before the check in time and our room wasn’t quite ready, this was not a problem as the check in times are clearly stated at the time of booking. We left our luggage at reception and started a walk to get our bearings, after only a few minutes, I received a call on my mobile, informing me that our room was now ready. Upon our return, our luggage had been placed in our room. The hotel is spotlessly clean and all staff are friendly and polite. Breakfast has a wide selection which is nicely presented. My only negative comment is that dogs are allowed in the restaurant, which when you are hoping to have a relaxing meal, can be spoiled by dogs squaring up to each other. I fully appreciate that, ‘dog friendly’ establishments will attract customers who bring their dogs on holiday and this is good business for the hotels. However, is it not worth considering that guests with dogs use a specific area in the restaurant which is reserved for dog owners. I must add that I am not ‘anti dog’ - I have owned dogs for many years. Rather interestingly, porterage was provided to guests who were departing the island by ferry, but if departing by air, you carry your own luggage. The reception team were always happy to book taxis and tables at other establishments on our behalf.
A hotel that ‘ticked all the boxes’ and it would certainly be my first choice if and when we return to the Island.

Ticked all the right boxes 

This is a well appointed , beautifully positioned hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and excellent staff.
We can't recommend it highly enough - or indeed the Isles of Scilly .
The whole experience far exceeded our expectations (despite the windy tail end of a hurricane throughout the five days) and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful hotel in glorious surroundings

Would definitely recommend this comfortable, well-run hotel in a marvellous location overlooking the harbour.  The welcoming and airy lounge reception is also home to the open plan restaurant and bar.  Full of lovely seating to make the most of the spectacular views over the towns harbour, beaches and the off islands.  It’s literally breathtaking.  The terraced garden also offers many outdoor tables, a great place to enjoy a drink and watch the world go by.  We had a sea facing superior king size room which was superb and an excellent en-suite bathroom.  Fluffy towels & robes, lovely bed, large walk-in shower, nice toiletries, mini fridge with fresh milk every day.  The breakfasts were outstanding with masses of delicious choices (both hot and cold).  Twice we also had dinner in the restaurant which is ably managed by the very professional and charming Craig.   Very generous portions and interesting menu offerings including tapas-style small plates with plenty of fresh fish and shellfish.  It certainly exceeded our expectations and we were delighted.  We bought tickets for ferries to other islands at reception.  Be warned that the hotel is built onto a steep hill so there are steps inside and out, but it’s well worth it for the divine situation.  

Harbour views in comfort

We have stayed here several times now. Restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful. Food at breakfast was excellent. We also booked meals here when we checked out to go and stay in self catering for a family holiday. Evening meals were very good and there's a nice atmosphere. Meals are not expensive and we found no more expensive than the 2 pubs and the food was better at Tregarthens. Our room was sea view. We also booked our travel on Skybus with hotel and received discount on Skybus booking. 
We all hope to be back again next year.  

Great hotel to stay at or booking for a evening meal

We were welcomed into the hotel by freindly and attentive staff. Booking in was simple and quick. Out hotel room was bright, clean, well decorated and I would say had one of the best views from the window. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings were perfect for our stay. We had a delicious breakfast every morning. Again, the staff were attentive and really made the mornings brighter. 
We had dinner in the restaurant, we all had the king prawn starter. It was perfect, delicious.  My daughters gluten free burger looked to be a big hearty meal and my Thai meal certainly packed a punch! The puddings were delightful, tasty and well presented.
we brought our cocker puppy on this trip and he was well loved by all, the staff adored him. 
Overall our first time experience at Tregarthens was an absolute delight. I really can't say enough good things about the staff, they were fab..thank you!

Tregarthens Hotel, happy days...

Had a really enjoyable couple of days with my son in this hotel. 
The room was in a corner with views of the sea and harbour from the windows. 
The room was a good size for the twin beds and the en suite was large and also had a view. 

Food in the hotel was good and breakfast was great. 

Staff were very helpful and did lots to make out stay easy and special. They booked our ferry, helped with boat trips and collected and delivered our luggage. 

Would definitely recommend and go back to this hotel.

Fabulous couple of days

Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms a good size and well stocked, lovely soft large towels, good choices in the restaurant,  near the quay for easy access to boats to other islands and the towns shops and restaurants, lovely large terrace to enjoy a drink while watching the boats.

I recently organized a week-long stay for 48 guests at Tregarthens. This took many months of planning and both Megan and Craig worked with me diligently as we thrashed out the finer details and unique dining arrangements. The trip was a huge success, and the whole Tregarthens team - Dee (housekeeping - very patient and understanding) Rob the chef (superb food and great variety of choices) Hollie, Mollie, Tara and the chaps behind the bar - not forgetting Emma for a special celebration cake - all added to the experience. The hotel not only has a fabulous position and views, but truly feels like home and is strongly recommended. Nothing was too much trouble. We’ll certainly be going back to do it all again next year.
