First off though: don't be mislead there is no swimming pool, there is kind've a kiddie pool attached to the outside bar, but whatever.

The rooms are fantastic, lovely location in St. Ives, the food (both breakfast and dinner) is extremely good (including real coffee :) ). Wait staff also extremely helpful.

I absolutely suggest staying here

small peeves: shower pressure underwhelming, hotel didn't provide new cosmetics etc. for staying multiple nights (pretty weird thing to be frugal about)

What a shame Ive just learnt that this lovely hotel is closing.
Ive enjoyed a number of stays on business and it was very comfortable and friendly and the food was superb.
It will be greatly missed on my trips to Cornwall

Closure of Hotel

I stayed at The Garrack last week, and wanted to say a huge thanks to the staff for making my stay so enjoyable.  The hotel was clean and modern, and every morning I awoke to incredible views over Porthmeor Beach.  The staff were friendly and accommodating at every level... and importantly, they captured the essence of making every guest feel like an individual.  The food was creative, fresh and cooked impeccably.  The hotel was a short 15 minute walk into St. Ives, which was great because it was quiet with plenty of car parking, without the hassle and bustle of St. Ives.  The Garrack Hotel and its staff draw together all the wonderful aspects of a memorable stay and I can't recommend it highly enough.   Thanks so much to you all!   I wouldn't hesitate to return here.

I wouldn't hesitate to return to this lovely hotel

Great hotel ... excellent location  with great views over the bay and lovely coastal walks with dog. 15 minute walk into town and a bit steep climb coming back!
Our room was fine, toiletries provided and tea/coffee making facilities. All areas of hotel are clean and well presented. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one night! I used the pool/sauna area which was very pleasant. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Lovely Break

The hotel is reached via a rather narrow road but there is plenty of parking here. My room was down quite a lot of steps - it was modern and comfortable and when I got up in the morning the view was good, My only complaint was that the bathroon was a bit smelly - perhaps a drain problem.  I just stayed for one night. Dinner was really good as was breakfast. Its a pleasant walk down into St Ives but quite a walk back uphill to the hotel.

Good hotel on a hill above St Ives

This hotel for this price is a steal! Its a very nice 15 min walk to the centre of town and doable late at night too. 
The bed was comfy, towels were fluffy and the hotel was warm. Just lost the extra point due to the bathrooms being dated. 

Perfect location

I love this hotel. It is a holiday destination and I am a business traveller and so stay here often. The attention to detail, the care taken, the quality of food and drink are all exemplary. I rate it 5* Excellent Love it. *****

Very difficult to review this hotel after the stunningly beautiful and spacious Cornwall Resort & Spa but here goes. We were tucked in a tiny room behind reception (#12). The room and bath were clean but cramped, service was a bit stif and requests were refused because they were “sold out.” Based on the breakfast diners and parking lot ,this could not be true. Breakfast (not included) however was delicious, an ample table of cereals and breads, jams, yogurt and the hot meal (added cost) was well made from what I could see. Accommodations and staff could ‘step up their game’ to get a better review. Upon arrival, we headed to the bar since it was raining. The pool shower was being cleaned and the cleaner was also tending bar. After she served us, she returned to cleaning and then went for a swim, as if to say, “don’t ask for anything else.”

Quaint and Quirky

We stayed in one of the rooms in the cottage near the Pool and Quarterdeck bar and restaurant. Great view down over the beach in St. Ives.  We enjoyed a swim in the pool and then had drinks and dinner at the Quarterdeck . Very good service out there!  The whole property is a bit tatty and needs some work on their paint and woodwork.  The breakfast in the restaurant was only ok for me as they got my order wrong. My husband enjoyed his eggs Benedict.

Great view! Nice pool

My friend and I stayed for two nights at the Garrack Hotel while we were walking a section of the South West Coast Path with our dogs. It was a wonderful place to unwind after a long day's walk and our dogs made were not only welcomed but given biscuits and toys to take home.  We were very comfortable and the food was exceptional - particularly the Fizz and Chips (fish 'n' chips with a glass of Prosecco!).  If there's one thing that really stood out, it was the staff, who were very friendly and helpful and never too busy to get the map out and point us in the right direction!
