Right where to begin...? What a lovely couple John and Linda are. Nothing and I mean Nothing is too much trouble. The room was immaculate, the attention to detail was incredible. The bed was super comfy, The food, OMG the breakfast was to die for! I wish our stay was my Groundhog day!

Thurlestone House is the best guest house we have stayed in. John and Linda are excellent hosts, they go the extra mile to ensure your holiday is perfect. The House is spotlessly clean throughout. Breakfasts are    brilliant with plenty of choice and dietary requirements are met. The location is superb with lovely views. The bus service is great and stops just outside of the house. I would definately recommend staying here and we will be returning very soon.

Excellent Guest House

Absolutely outstanding in every way! John and Linda are a naturally welcoming and charming couple who provide a top level service for all of their guests. Their attention to detail in all aspects of the stay was apparent from the moment we got there with a bowl of sweats on entry for guests to help themselves, a diffuser offering a lovely relaxing aroma as soon as you open the front door, and a chocolate on the pillow when we got to our room.

Breakfast was cooked perfectly (and included good quality sausage and bacon). The individual fruit salad was clearly prepped every morning before guests came downstairs, great variety of toast (and spreads), cereal, yoghurts, teas and coffees.

Our room was spacious and clean with a lovely modern ensuite bathroom. The whole house was spotless throughout. There were a couple of very friendly local pubs within walking distance serving lovely food, and the gorgeous beach was only 5 minutes walk away.

What a wonderfully relaxing holiday we had. Thank you John and Linda. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect B&B in every way!

We booked this as a last minute weekend, what a lovely place. John & Linda couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing and filling. We will definitely be going back for another stay. Thank you both.

Weekend away

Third stay in 5/6 years. Another fantastic holiday experience.

Location - great; close to Carbis Bay beach and train station, bus stop 2 minutes walk away

Hosts - fantastic every time, friendly and helpful, they make it all hang together 

Room - well presented, coffee & tea making facilities and supplies etc

Breakfast - lovely, cooked fresh with a nice range of options

Overall, just lovely. This is what holidays are about.

Excellent. What can I say ….

Stayed as couple October half term for 2 nights. John and Linda were excellent - very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great location close to many main tourist spots, exceptional value for money in our opinion. Very clean comfortable rooms with a view of sea in near distance. Breakfast was pre-ordered and very efficient. Breakfast was brilliant - very good amount of choice. Although didn't sample cooked breakfast but looked fantastic. Really great value for money, very impressed! Would highly recommend as a base to explore St Ives and the surrounding area as is a bit further out in Carbis Bay. Approx 30mins walk down to St Ives, and plenty of taxis available to come back (even if a tad expensive) or you could walk uphill if you can! Thankyou so much for a great stay, we would definitely be back if we returned!

Brilliant base for exploring St Ives and beyond

We had a lovely time here - particularly:
- John and Linda were great, such a lovely couple and very welcoming and down to earth, cheerful and knowledgeable about the local area
- the bedroom and bathroom were lovely, clean and spacious, light and airy and plenty of room to unpack and make it homely
- breakfast was fab! Nothing too much trouble and one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had anywhere - as a vegetarian I particularly liked the trouble taken to provide me with a range of options including veggie bacon as well as sausage which was so thoughtful - my husband is not veggie and both our breakfasts could have been photographed for a recipe book quite honestly, perfect
- bus stops are right outside the guest house, go absolutely everywhere very easily or if you fancy walking into St Ives there’s a lovely coastal path in which is an easy stroll, took us five minutes to get down to Carbis Bay beach which is chilled and a great place to relax - or you can walk a little further along and be at Porthminster or St Ives beaches in between 15-20 minutes
- if you’re driving, it takes around half an hour or so to reach many great locations such as Land’s End, St Michael’s Mount etc. and you can do plenty in one day
- fabulous overall, we will definitely be back at the guest house in the new year, thanks John and Linda :)

Fabulous place to stay, friendly hosts, great value and location!

We stayed here for a week.  John and Linda were very welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable  about the area and things to do.  The breakfast was superb with everything  you could want and more. The guest house is in the perfect location, quiet, near to the coastal path, bus stop, and restaurants.  Our room was clean and all covid secure,  with a lovely sea view .Highly recommend this lovely place and hopefully we will return.
