We have stayed here several times in the last few years. Always a very warm welcome. The owners work incredibly hard to maintain the very high standard the hotel has achieved. The rooms are excellent and spotlessly clean. Very good choice for breakfast. Just arrived back home from our stay, and looking forward to the next one already !

Another perfect stay

A welcoming and relaxing few days during our stay, great choice of breakfast, clean rooms, good choice of drinks within the honesty bar, peaceful enviroment, free onsite parking, short walk to the beach, beautiful views, would recommend.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay here. Jo  is an excellent host and the hotel is lovely. Far too often we find beds hard and uncomfy but here was perfect. There is a fabulous seating deck at the front overlooking Carbis Bay. Breakfast superb. We made use of the honesty bar which was very well stocked. 

Comfiest bed ever’

We've stayed in many guest houses, and the Lamorna beats them all, such a warm welcome, the owners have got it so right, lovely quiet rooms with a sea view, the breakfast choice is really good, the cooked breakfast is lovely, they also do a packed lunch if your going out for the day with a small charge, at the bottom of the road is a small train station that takes you into St Ives costing £1 per person or £2 return,  we left the car at guest house and just got the train in, so easy, 
This is how all guest houses should be run.

Wow, really impressed 

Joanne and Richard are delightful hosts and work really hard to ensure guests are comfortable and well looked after, Some of the rooms have views of Carbis Bay - as does the breakfast and bar area - and all are well equipped with good linens and towels.

The breakfasts are beautifully prepared with a buffet plus cooked specialities such as an excellent Haddock with Poached Egg and of course full English choices. They will also provide picnics on request.

Since St Ives is usually clogged with traffic and car parks full up, you can leave your car here and catch a double-decker bus a few hundred yards away into town 5 mins away. The fare actually covers unlimited trips all day. Or you can walk down to the nearby station for the famous coastal railway, or take the 40m Coastal Path from here to St Ives; or just order a cab.

You can also make a great day circuit from here to see ancient tin mines by the wonderful craggy Cape Cornwall coast,  enjoy ancient pubs, avoid garish Lands End, explore Mousehole and St Michael's Mount. The route is Zennor, Pendeen Lighthouse, Geevor Tin Mine Museum, spectacular Botallack Tin Mines, St Just, Mousehole, Penzance, Marazion and back to Carbis Bay for the great view from the Lamorna Bar Terrace.

For dining near Lamorna Lodge we tried both the nearby Gannet Inn and the Casita. The latter provides Spanish tapas in an informal restaurant with terrace. The Gannet, also a smart hotel, has a more formal dining area, and we enjoyed an excellent meal and service here one evening.

If you walk down to the posh and expensive (the G7 met here in 2021)  Carbis Bay Hotel, you can have drinks or a meal by the beach, but then you have a long steep walk back up to Lamorna Lodge.

Great:  Hosts, Location, Rooms, Breakfasts and Bar!

We had a lovely stay in Lamorna Lodge.  The owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful.  It was a home from home, very relaxing and nice and quiet.  The breakfast was really good too.  We would definitely stay again.

Amazing Stay

A wonderful bed and breakfast. Comfy, spotless clean room with a great bed, shower and large enough wardrobe. Yummy breakfasts every morning. Joanne was very helpful with information on how to get places and recommending things to do. Amazing location - 5 mins to carbis bay and the train station and a 4 min ride to st ives. Stunning 40 min coastal walk to st ives or regular buses again taking less then 10 to the seaside centre. Will be returning!

Lovely B&B!

We stayed at this wonderful accommodation while walking the South West Coast Path and found it to be absolutely first class. We were warmly welcomed by Jo & Richard and our room was spotless, cleaned and serviced every day. Breakfast was top notch with a wide cooked menu together with a variety of cereal, fruits, yoghurt and juices. The hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and recommended a variety of places to visit and eat, all of which was worthwhile. They looked after us very well indeed, thoroughly recommend!

Beautiful friendly home from home

Absolutely top notch accommodation ; spotlessly clean, so well equipped, nothing was too much trouble, consistently friendly welcome on arrival, at breakfast, at unannounced times. Magnificent choice of breakfast, well organised. Beautifully maintained building, inside and the outside terrace, garden and parking spaces. Jo, the landlady and a fellow 'Yorkie' along with her husband, are perfect hosts. Enjoy a very successful 2022 season, you deserve to. Thank you for making us welcome and looking after us so well. Would recommend this delightful B&B Hotel.
