For the money we spent, we had a good stay! The room was clean and tidy, warm and spacious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely - good choice and all freshly cooked. Friends stayed a local, much more expensive and higher starred hotel but we definitely stayed in the better/nicer location here! Would recommend for a local stay!

Good value for money

Again another great stay at the Rob Roy, great value. We were there for Elvis tribute last April and now this year Tom Jones, great nights. Staff fantastic always smiling which makes a change from other places.  Food good with choices. Fantastic value now booked for November Lionel Ritchie and Motown.  We are looking forward to another great stay at this fun and happy hotel.

Happy Times

I bought my parents a stay here for their Christmas present.
We decided to stay on Saturday for the Tom Jones tribute and I'm so glad we did!

It was a brilliant night, the food was delicious and the entertainment was fabulous! Also the bar prices were reasonable for a hotel. All the staff worked hard and were very courteous. Breakfast in the morning was also delicious, all fresh food and tasty with plenty choice of food, tea, coffee and juices. 

The rooms are a bit dated but clean and spacious, let's be honest you only sleep in it anyway. Well equiped with hairdryer, iron, ironing board, hand wash, shower gel etc. 

All in all a great stay and my dad, who is in a wheelchair and doesn't get out very often, had the best time ever!  We will definitely return for another tribute night as it's great value for money. 

Brilliant stay! 

Attended the Tom Jones tribute night with friends. The reception staff were polite and friendly. Hotel rooms were a good size, spotless, beds comfy, hairdryer, kettle and ironing room. 

The food at the dinner was beautiful, great choice, good portions and piping warm. Waiting staff were all friendly and efficient. Tom Jones tribute was excellent, so much fun was had. Bar prices are reasonable for a hotel.

The buffet breakfast was delicious, large choice of hot and cold food, cold drinks and hot drinks.

We would all reccomend staying here and we will be back.

An excellent all round hotel

The main thing to say about our stay, and the hotel, is that the staff were excellent, every single person we encountered was friendly and genuinely seemed to want to look after you. From my experience this is rare these days and it actually made the stay really good. This hotel and tribute event did what it said on the tin, you got what you paid for. Simple, clean and warm accomodation. Good hearty food at dinner and breakfast and a fun night with good entertainment. All really great value and worth a visit. The only thing I would say is that the outside area and exterior of building  does not reflect the experience you get when you cross the door. Well done team Rob Roy we had a great wee stay.

Great staff and stay

Had a fantastic weekend for the price we paid for our weekend absolutely great value & food was great at all meals .Had lunch in hotel 1 day & was also fab & so reasonable .Didn't manage out into town due to the awful rain causing the road to be closed.The hotel staff were fantastic all so friendly & helpful did a fabulous job on Saturday night when due to the weather they were short staffed but carried on smiling & worked so hard special thanks to Taylor our waitress who despite being virtually on her own most of the time got all our meals out in timely fashion & so cheery & helpful under massive pressure!Look forward to seeing you all again soon 

Wee gem of a hotel

Very clean comfortable en suite room. Staff are helpful and friendly. Food quality excellent if portions were just a bit larger I would have given it 5 stars. All in all had a fantastic stay and will definitely be booking in future.

Great hotel in a fabulous setting. 

Rooms miles from dining room. All carpets not been cleaned for many months. A nightmare to find. Little help to find from staff. No room service. Coach parties given priority over other holiday makers. 1 day hot breakfast from bowls ? The next day, cooked fresh !  Most staff okay. Couple need to leave.  The only good thing is night meals were cheap. Won't be returning. :(

Will not return.

Not a hotel more motel.. rooms are basic but not cleaned. Housekeeping NO!!! Our room was filthy.. thick dust everywhere, cobwebs on overhead lamps, carpet heavily stained, quilt had blood/urine stain, previous guests pills and contact lenses on the floor by cabinet. Bathroom floor had dead insects (daddy longlegs) hair all around skirting, floor had not been washed for a long time… shower had water marks on and dirty stained base, sink had shaving hair and toothpaste still in.. we complained and got a clean quilt.. told they don’t enter rooms once booked in… we had to clean the room ourselves best we could… DISGUSTING.. we tried to get alternative accommodation but we’re in the middle of nowhere on a coach trip..credit where due though the food was  good.. hardly any staff and reception were miserable snd unapproachable.. you have to collect clean towels ( only if you order on the morning before you go out) and toilet rolls. More like a prison camp in looks and the way it’s run… beds are like hard boards and you can hear word for word of rooms to your side and from below.. you don’t get much sleep.. no air con… basically nothing…

I have just come back for a 5 day coach Holiday to the   Rob Roy Hotel
The hotel has expanded since the last time i stayed there. the rooms are clean and well l kept and staff are friendly and helpful, It didn't bother us that their with another three coach parties also on a five day holiday at the same time!!! (More the merrier)
My only criticism is that our coach party was always waiting around for our meals because our allocated time slot was after the 3 other coach parties had eaten, So although we was woken up every morning at 6am from noise from other guests passing going for their breakfast we had stick it out until 9am and again waiting until 7pm for our evening meal. which is just too long when you have to fit your medication around.... The best was the morning we were leaving because we were allowed our breakfast at 7am so we could set off for 8am
