Fantastic hotel and hospitality, very nice people went above and beyond for my 30th, will definitely go again!! Just around the corner from Stone Henge and main shopping area, (10 minute drives)
Parking across the road and a nice little stretch of river for people to fish on!??!

Fantastic Hotel and hospitality

A lovely warm welcome  awaited  us  and  friendly  staff. A  good selection  of the usual  pub  foods but  also  different options  from the usual  vegetarian  fare, rarely  found these  days. 
I had the African rice dish  which was lovely, a little spicy  but not overpowering, something I would have again for sure.
There was a lovely  log fire  which was lit during our  stay and a table of  games  and magazines for our  use.
Lovely.
The only downside is it was dark when we  left  so perhaps the car park opposite on a very busy road could be better lit up.

A warm wecome,great  food

Having to work away for 3 weeks near stoford, I had the pleasure to stay at the swan in stoford, food is very tasty, breakfast layout and menu was very good, especially the poached eggs pitch perfect. Rooms have everything you need along with the comfortable beds. I recommend this pub to anyone. Staff are all friendly and welcoming.

We stayed here last night.
Good location for Salisbury.
Clean room but a big thank you to Philip who worked there. He made us and our dog very welcome. In the morning fabulous breakfast and we were able to use the bar so our dog could come with us. This meant others could eat without a dog in the restaurant but our dog was part of our stay. A very warm welcome, excellent service and food. We would recommend this pub.

Night stay with our dog

We stopped off here on a Saturday evening after visiting Longleat. The staff are very friendly, we were served from our table for drinks and food, then paid for the tab at the bar. There is a kids menu with a great selection and an activity page on the other side, crayons are provided if you ask for the colouring.
My husband ordered the gammon and chips, my eleven year old son had a kids cod and chips, I had cheese and bacon burger. All meals were lovely and could not be faulted, the toilets are a little dated but perfectly clean. This is a brewery run pub with rooms so their budget I am sure is limited otherwise the toilets would of been updated by now, however they are clean and that is the main thing. We would definitely stop off here again and would recommend it to all passing.

Great stop off.

All the staff here were great, without exception. The evening meal was good but the breakfast was special. This was by far the best breakfast I've had this year on various business trips.
The mattress was also excellent. I had a great night's kip.
One gripe - the green 'emergency light' in the bedroom. Apparently this is a legal requirement but I've not seen it in any other room. I turned off the white ceiling light and the room turned green ....  very bright green. Please fix this

Great staff and food

Our third visit to this hotel for overnight stay in three years  starting to show its age. Whilst clean and tidy it has deteriorated over this time. It's no longer rustic and quaint.  Needs an injection of good housekeeping  and management.   Bar had no change! No soap in shower as dispenser was broken. Bulb missing in bedside lamp. Little  things but they leave an impression.  Very good cooked breakfast that partially helped improve rating.  Bar not adequately stocked, no port.  Overall, unless it changes, our last visit.

Quiet pub

We arrived and not enough staff to book us in.
The cleanliness was appalling, staff were friendly and the food was ok.
The windows were filthy to the point we couldn't  see out of them I appreciate it’s on a main road, behind our bed was an inch of dust, I asked the staff to clean, they didn’t, again as the staff were behind the bar.
Not sure how long the bottle of water had been in our room, bits floating in it and it was warm,.
Sock found under the bed.
Net curtain sway to long for the window and ripped.
No mattress cover on bed, room was tired and drab, not at all like the photos on the website.
Looking outside room 4 we could clearly see a stained  double  mattress lent against the fence. 
The floor  in the bar was dirty and had not been swept out entire stay and for the three days we had stayed there, I waisted food and it was still there 3 days later, the window ledges in the dinning room had not been cleaned, lots of spiders, flies and grime. 
There was a glass left on the ledge at the top df the stairs for 2 days.
I gave constructive criticism to the pub twice as the first timeI was ignored, to be told “they were short staffed” which I do appreciate but the cleanliness did not just reflect being short staffed, to me it was years of neglect.
Staff were friendly however on one occasion two staff members were sat outside on social media talking out loud who they had slept with.  

My whole experience was not very nice, I wouldn’t mind if one or two things were wrong but it was many things including the grime.

We had complementary toiletries which was half full.

I dread to think what the kitchen is like.

Filthy

With a friend I visited the Swan at Stoford on Tuesday 3rd September at about 1pm. We ordered a couple of drinks and sat at a table. The landlord came to the table and we ordered food. My female friend not feeling very hungry ordered Pate' and Toast, I ordered a standard Fish and Chips. The food arrived at the table and the Pate' looked fine, but I immediately did not like the look of the Fish and Chips. My initial misgivings regarding the Fish and Chips were soon justified: The fish batter rather than being light and crispy was wet and spongy, along with the chips. If I could make a guess the fish already battered was taken out of the freezer and microwaved and as to the chips I don't really know how they were cooked to turn out like rubber. Needless to say I did not eat this awful meal. As I was with a guest I did not make a fuss, only to point out to the landlord the food was not good. Back in the car park a family asked us what the food was like - after telling them of our experience they drove away. The Swan at Stoford is not on my recommended list.  

Very poor food

We booked a family room for £120 for one night and for its money AWFUL.It was unclean,cramped and a meter away from A36 if you stuck your head out it would get taken off by a car...as well as the photos made it out to be a sweet village pub with lovely furniture however it was the complete opposite of that if I knew I would have booked a Travelodge!   AVIOD
