What a fabulous find! Extremely stylish interior, fantastic and comfortable rooms and wonderful hosts! We loved the little touches such as a little sweet treat in the room, fresh milk for tea/coffee, honesty bar and lovely lounges with wood burning stoves. We wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend!

Utterly wonderful!

My wife and I loved the experience of staying at The White House. The owners are clearly and rightly proud of what they offer; they could not be more charming and helpful. The house is inventively decorated with style and panache. The blue drawing room is a particular favorite- chic and welcoming. The guest room was so comfortable with good quality bed linen and pillows. Breakfast is a joy, and the owners even cooked a special sausage for our dog, which they were happy to accommodate at additional, but reasonable cost. We found excellent places to have our evening meal and over all we found it a refreshing change from the general range of Devon B&Bs. We heartily recommend it!

A gem of a Devon B&B

The two of us had a last-minute week-end away and what a treat. The Whitehouse is fabulous in every respect - the location, the room, the house itself, the gardens, the breakfasts, especially the bircher with home made plum jam, as is the welcome from Katie and Chris. Their places to visit and dinner recommendations were ideal.

Our surprise week-end away!

Was looking for a short break post surgery and found this lovely hotel on booking.com. although as I had a question relating to the one remaining room I actually rang and booked direct.
This small but beautiful boutique style hotel is perfect for a break in south devon being easy driving distance from Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Slapton and Salcombe to name just a few places. We stayed in room 5 which was spacious and  beatifully furnished with an amazing bathroom containing a bath and the biggest walk in drench shower I have ever seen. The bed was huge and all the bed linen and room furnishings were excellent quality.
The breakfast choices were more than adequate, freshly made and served to your table, my favourite was the yoghurt with plum compote,  they kindly supplied me with the recipe as I loved it so much.
There is a small honesty bar if you fancy a drink in the evening and a lovely lounge area if you want to sit and relax and mix with fellow guests.
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It's not the cheapest accommodation but you get what you pay for and this hotel is a very special place to stay.
There is parking on site, just be careful of the trees in the car park, I managed to reverse into one on the day we left!
We really enjoyed our stay, I did find the narrow lanes in the area a challenge but will definitely stay again. Is there anything that could be inproved? If I'm being picky a mini bar to store milk and soft drinks etc, there is milk to help yourself to behind the bar and little flasks to keep it cool but for me that would be the icing on the cake. Also our towels were never changed and on one occasion they were still wet from the day before but my husband sourced some from the laundry cupboard next door. The only negative for us as an older couple was the lack of anywhere to eat in the evening in walking distance as  one the pubs in the village had closed down and the other was still closed for refurbishment following a fire some time ago which for us meant driving to Kingbridge every  evening. 
A relaxing break in beauiful surroundings. 

Beautiful boutique style hotel

We spent a simply marvellous 4 days here and whilst it was a little wetter than we had hoped we were treated to a wonderful stay with Chris and Katie. They are excellent hosts and the Whitehouse is a perfect venue to chill out in a delightful part of the world. Plenty to see and do and great local inns with fantastic food and service our favourite is the Cricket Inn at Beesands. No doubt we will return at some point as the area is one of our favourites. The whole coast from Dartmouth through to Salcombe with the Whitehouse right at the centre is spot on! Thanks Chris and Katie for a memorable few days.

Just about perfect - no it was perfect!

This was my second stay at The Whitehouse and there is absolutely no doubt I will be back for a third next year. Tucked away off the Chillington lanes this is a real gem of a place to stay, in a beautiful building with gorgeous interior and gardens full of vintage glamour. Katie and Chris are the most welcoming hosts you could ask for. and include so many lovely small touches that make your stay really special. Our room was super luxurious, with a huge bath and extremely comfortable bed, and we looked forward to having breakfast every morning as it was so delicious (the homemade plum compote is to die for!). We can’t recommend The Whitehouse enough!!

A complete and utter hidden gem!

The Whitehouse is beautiful and chic place to relax and feel super spoilt. 
From the moment you park your car and walk through the beautifully landscaped garden you just feel relaxed and you know this is more than a luxury B&B. It's exquisite and unique, each room is a feast for your eyes and a treat for your body and soul. 
Katie and Chris offer a very warm welcome, they are such great hosts, with plenty of great tips and advice for restaurants and pubs and places to explore. 
It's a great location to stay with many breathtaking coastal walks, views and stunning beaches with in a short drive or walk.  Although I must admit it was so comfortable at the Whitehouse it was hard to leave at times to go exploring. The breakfast was delicious and the extras little treats like baked lemon drizzle cake left for the guests to help themselves ..such a lovely touch!.  Also the doggie treat jar ..a big hit with my golden retriever. 
I'll definitely be returning to the Whitehouse  

A chic and unique luxury B&B

Just parking the car and walking through into the garden was enough for us to know we had made the right choice for our 4 nights  break at the White House. We were greeted by Chris on arrival at reception who went through everything we needed to know to make our stay as comfortable as possible. 
We have a dog and it was great to see a water bowl situated outside for him to drink from ( a very thoughtful touch) Chris showed us to the room overlooking the side garden . It was a large, well equipped, very clean and tidy room with a large very comfortable bed, with TV, Wi-Fi , CD Player, Freeview, Netflix, everything you could possibly want for an evening’s entertainment should you wish. The bathroom was spotless with a large rain shower( fantastic) and to top all that , there was a bath in the bedroom as well, nice touch. The decor was well thought out throughout the hotel with both vibrant and pastels mixing nicely together to give a both homely yet modern twist to everything. 
We met Katie the next morning at breakfast, like Chris, very friendly, chatty and put you at ease straight away and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The  breakfast was cooked to perfection with a very reasonable selection and choices could be made outside the suggested menu as well with a sausage for Sammy our dog every morning as a treat, perfect. The bar was well equipped with the usual gins/ whiskey/ rum / beer and much more and ….. if Chris or Katie weren’t around,  they operated a honesty bar which ensured everything ran smoothly.. Katie and Chris  dedicate a lot of time and effort to ensure each and every guest is made welcome and it has paid off massively, we had a wonderful time here  and everyone we spoke to were enjoying their stay also. 
I may have missed something out but I can assure anyone wanting to stay here, they will be in for a great stay .

FANTASTIC STAY

Just had honeymoon at the wonderful Whitehouse. It was absolutely perfect..Katie and Chris (and the children) were wonderful hosts and could not have been more helpful.. the whole place was beautifully presented and in an ideal location to explore the south coast. We both slept soundly every night and feel totally relaxed… we will be returning and cannot recommend this place enough. Paula and Keith

Honeymoon stay

We had a three day break and can thoroughly recommend the Whitehouse. Kate and Chris have created a wonderful relaxing hotel, always there with helpful advice on places to go and pubs to try...the Millbrook was our favourite. The breakfast is fantastic with home made Bircher and a selection of great freshly cooked.hot food...sets you up for a day walking on the coastal path. We stayed in bedroom five which has a huge,very comfortable bed, and a great.bathroom.

Can't recommend enough.
