Enjoyed staying here.staff very friendly and helpful.food was good even for a vegetarian.we had ground floor room requested due to disability.clean and comfortable .windows could do with being painted.dining staff rushed off their feet as dining room was full.but they coped very well especially the young boys.second stay here and would return.lovely quiet village and beautiful scenery evening entertainment was excellent and guests were soon up dancing

Highland hotel strathpeffer

Friendly and comfortable hotel with good food.  Somewhat ‘down at heel’ throughout but charming nonetheless.  We visited out of season so the accommodation was inexpensive.  The hotel and restaurant were very large and looked to be set up for coach parties in season.

Did not personally stay here i popped into ask if I could park in the car park for the night as no space across the road, receptionist was very friendly and let me do this. Hotel was very welcoming and looked very nice inside. 
Would book here if I was in the area again.

Very friendly

Lovely location,iconic victorian hotel,comfortable,cold tostartwith but soon warmed up,walk in shower good but shower pressure low,3rd floor best,meals good and varied but certain meals very amateur,entertainment good but cramped  concert room,library rooms quiet and comfortable.
However if going with Shearing's coaches watch out for very noisy and drunk people on the bus they will spoil your holiday.i thought people drinking on board was illegal but they seem to totally ignore that so come on Shearing's take a firmer hand against these offenders.

Thank you for a lovely time. Room very clean. New shower and bath. Food served very quickly and good. Staff friendly. Swimming pool small but lovely and clean. Night entertainment good .Will return thank you .x

Great Midweek Break

We stayed here as part of our Titicaca (Chinese company) tour group and really enjoyed our stay, the staff in particular Lyn made us feel so welcome! we shall remember this time here in Scotland for a long time!

A lovely stay in the highlands

Hotel is ideally situated for touring the Scottish highlands. Our room was more than adequate and had clearly recently had a refurbishment. We found some of the staff in restaurant rude and oppressive.  Questioning us whilst eating our breakfast two mornings running   about why we were sat in that area. On the first night they had no table for us and we had to sit in the bar area away from our coach trip members. They should have spare tables as we were pre booked and they knew the numbers involved. We had come away to relax, paid good money for the trip. This was our first holiday since the pandemic which both myself and husband had worked throughout. We found the restaurant experience both stressful and annoying. This is a shame as other than that the hotel was fine. 

Oppressive restaurant staff

stayed here for 1 night. wished we hadn't. 
lovely looking building, was clearly a very nice place a long time ago. very dated,  old and tired, floor on an angle, covid cleaning clearly not happening, long black hairs in shower and on floor ( see pics), hot water took forever to come through in shower, and was luke warm when it did, shower tray not draining, ankle deep in cold water when warm water finally arrived. 
heating on in bathroom, in august, unable to turn off, windows appear to be painted shut,  unable to open to let any cool air in.
much nicer places to stay in strathpeffer for similar money, which we would have done had we known.
not recommended at all.

old and tired (the hotel too)

Wouldnt even give this hotel one star. On arrival nobody in reception. Rang number and person we spoke to very rude. Guests should be spoken to wirh courtesy.
Room small and very shabby. Bedding not ironed. Mat on the floor needed washing.  Hotel in my opinion needs refurbishment.  Entrance need a good coat of paint. Left hotel after one night.

Never again

I wouldn’t even rate this hotel . We were passing and thought we would go in for something to eat . We just got through the doors and a man waved his hands in the air and shouted “ you can’t come in here you don’t stay here”. It didn’t look very welcoming anyway or clean .A disgrace to the Scottish highlands !!
