Wonderful night staying here, very comfortable bed and great en suite. Breakfast delicious and filling. Had dinner there too, lovely. Stuffed with 2 great meals our relations we had come to visit treated us to lunch at Ragged Cot after we’d said how lovely it was (they are local but hadn’t been since a bad experience 20 years ago!). We all enjoyed it so much but think I must have put on 1/2 stone in 2 days! We will return soon.

Wonderful

Great place to stay lovely restaurant lovely cosy room great bathroom with amazing shower lovely and warm . Just one small problem the large fridge outside makes a noise all night not good if your a light sleeper and your room is above the restaurant. But lovely friendly staff would definitely return.

Excellent place to eat and rest up - lovely ambiance in the wood fired bar - great selection of beer/drinks, lovely restaurant with excellent food to. Very comfortable room and also wanted to say how excellent and attentive the staff were - 10/10. Will def recommend and no hesitation in staying again

Great place to stay

Fantastic hidden gem in a superb location. Beautiful building and wonderfully decorated. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, even the little extras in the bathrooms. Breakfast was fantastic with great locally sourced products, plenty of it, and presented really well. All staff are super friendly and warm and welcoming. Our only negative was the sound of the heating or refrigerator out the back of the room, which sounded like a car running all night long. We would definitely return and recommend you to others. Thank you for a lovely 2 night stay 

Hidden gem

Firstly my thanks to Lily who helped me, when in a mad panic I realised I had booked 2024 rather than 2023! Their customer service is second to none.
Couple that with a really comfortable room and a great breakfast and what more could you want! 

Tip - room 6 is great!

Fantastic service and a lovely hotel

They cancelled my hotel booking at 5pm on the day of arrival, I didn’t get the message left at gone 5pm and arrived for check in at 6 to be turned away. Very poor wouldn’t recommend booking as no guarantee especially if travelled far as I had travelled over 3 hrs

Enjoyed a night away with friends. Lovely location with great walks. Friendly and attentive staff. Rooms on the whole good. Evening meal and breakfast were very nice, great service. The staff were very welcoming. 

Young and poorly trained waiting staff, poor service, we got a bowl of olives thrown at us as they slipped from the waitresses hand and had to ask for a cloth to wipe up the olive oil from the table.

Our main courses were £20 each which we wouldn't mind paying if the quantity/quality are good. However, my husbands halloumi and potato cake salad was the size of a starter and he ended eating some of my main, and left feeling hungry. We were asked by the waiter whether we enjoyed our meal, and we told him that the salad was too small, he just said 'sorry about that' and charged us in full - no effort was made to rectify or compensate for this - for example, offering to take something off the bill as is normal in this case, or feed back to the manager/chef. It felt as though there was no procedure for complaints. My main was the prawn curry. I love spicy food but this was off the scale spicy - pure chilli powder and no complexity. 

We asked for the bill and were kept waiting for at least 15 minutes while we could see waiting staff wandering around aimlessly, we gave up in the end and got up to leave and then asked if we would like the bill! Felt very haphazard, we won't be back.

Poorly trained staff and no complaints procedure

This hotel is a gem.   Service exceptional.  Nothing was too much.       We stayed with a group of 9 in 5 rooms.  We all thought it was brilliant    Food was good.  Rooms were spotless and very comfortable.    I would highly recommend a stay    You will enjoy it.  What a find

Exceptional hotel.

Will definitely be returning to this wonderful Inn - the food was exceptional. 
The staff (Laslow, Kitty and Chloe) were so friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Nothing was too much trouble - the chef obviously loves cooking - as all the food we had was simply delicious and probably the best food we’ve had when staying at a hotel.
The room was lovely, spacious and clean and comfortable.
Went out for the day and came back to our tea and coffee with biscuits fully topped up.
Can’t recommend this wonderful gem of a boutique hotel enough.
