A welcome return for Sunday lunch. Excellent service, wonderful meal, great venue and a couple of pints of ale at a very reasonable price. Don't know how you do it for the price. Well worth traveling the extra miles.c

This cozy and charming inn in the heart of England exceeded our expectations. Excellent service, delicious food, and comfortable rooms made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended for any families visiting Gloucestershire

Have been on a number of visits including for a Christmas meal. Friendly, helpful staff and good honest food. Dogs welcome in the bar area only.  Prices very reasonable. Looking forward to returning in the summer as there is a lovely sunny outside area where you can see the trains wizz by. 

Good traditional pub/resteraunt

Booked a table for eight to celebrate two birthdays and had no regrets, we all enjoyed a lovely evening and meal.
The staff were very friendly and helpful at this family run inn which creates a lovely atmosphere to relax in and enjoy. The landlord introduced himself and although he hasn't enjoyed the best of health every effort has been made to ensure the satisfaction of his guests.
If there was a fault it would be the length of time between ordering and receiving the meals at the table but this can be forgiven because they were quite busy at the time.
The food was excellent and the evening was very enjoyable.
I would heartily recommend this inn, it is well worth a visit.
In fact, we all enjoyed it so much we have booked our next visit over the festive period to enjoy their very tempting Christmas menu.
Will be reporting on that.

Very enjoyable

We are occasional regulars as we live quite a distance away. We always have lunch here if we are traveling anywhere nearby.  We called again today as usual the food was great chicken goujons and a garlics dip. I usually have the king prawns but had a change today. My husband had the chicken curry, so much he couldn’t eat it all. I had the scampi and chips with the nicest peas iv ever had in a restaurant, you usually get the cheapy big peas but these were like garden fresh peas.  Such good value. Picked up the Christmas menus to bring  a group of friends.

Greatest local eatery

Lovely little place. Rooms were clean and comfy beds, but could maybe do with a little fixing up here and there. No complaints at all. Staff were amazing, so kind and friendly, and were really great helping us get to a wedding on time when it was hard to get a taxi.


Great!

Nice stay for a couple of days, room was basic but clean and tidy and was perfect for us. Only niggle is that pillows could have been more filled. Good food and a nice selection of drinks at the bar. Would stay again if we came this way again as suited us perfectly.

Loverly village pub with rooms

Wonderful service. Very welcoming, very accommodating as I have an 8 year old also and they can't do enough to make you feel at home and the food is very tasty and good price also I will always use this hotel from how on everytime I come this way very very pleased.

As usual wonderful food and excellent service.  The steak pie was generous and delicious, and the prawns and sauce to die for. Will be going again soon. This was a family birthday outing and we all enjoyed it very much. We have been often and they never disappoint

Brilliant as usual

We dropped in for a meal on a dull Friday lunchtime. You never know what to expect, we found the staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. One of our party was in a wheelchair and they coped with that very well (although there's no dedicated disabled toilet). Two of us chose the Lamb Shank, cooked to perfection it came with fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes and individual portions of lovely rich gravy and mint sauce. The triple cheese ploughmans came with enough cheese to feed a small army, along with pickles, bread rolls etc. We thought both meals were very impressive and the service was great. A very enjoyable experience in this friendly  pub tucked away down a country lane. Oh, and if you like trains you're in luck, the main line runs almost past the window!
