The stables Room 314

Sooo tiny and the bed may as well have been in the bathroom it was that close!
No ventilation in the bathroom by fan or window!
Three days in a tiny room was not nice!
No other rooms were available when we complained!
My family stayed in other rooms at the stables which were only a tiny bit bigger but the bathroom was in a better position!

Avoid the Stables room 314

Firstly as a solo I paid 100% single supplement. I upgraded to a signature room and booked a vip package. 

Room was lovely albeit two floors up winding staircase with no lifts and no porter service. 

The room had seating area, huge bathroom and roll top bath. A fridge, two tvs and lovely views. All good. 

What wasn't good was the food. Poor choices and quality in both restaurants. Really poor. Service was OK. Young and inexperienced and it showed. 

Entertainment good but who the hell wants to sit at a dining room table for about two hours to watch. You want comfort to relax. Felt like I was sitting in a doctors surgery. So uncomfortable. 

Drink prices were excessively pricey. 

As a young 50 something who regularly cruises, I was told Warners were like cruises on land. They are not. 

Butlins for old people is a more suitable description. 

I went once. I won't be back.

Housekeeping bad at Studley

My husband and I went for afternoon tea, which was a Christmas present from my parents. Lovely castle and surroundings. The afternoon tea with cocktails was very nice, four different sandwich fillings, scones, and cake, tea or coffee and cocktail each. Great selection.  Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely couple of hours.

However, house keeping is really poor throughout the building
I did go to customer service to mention a few things but nothing changed

Loved loved Studley Castle. The staff were young and polite and so professional. The entertainment was excellent . Lee Sully was hilarious 🤣 . Our room was comfy. A fridge had fresh milk in it for teas and coffee . The one very small thing was the view.. straight over the kitchen market not so wonderful and it made the room very hot even with the windows open (. Note to self ask for a fan). Our three day break was excellent value for money felt like a real holiday. We will definitely go to a warners hotel again . We got a deal as well three for two

Overall we had a good time. One lift was out of order for the 3 days we were there which was somewhat worrying as with a disabled husband the lifts were the only way to get down from the 1st floor. No satisfactory explanation was given for this. 

We were informed that we would receive a daily ‘spend’ sheet via email each morning. This didn’t materialise despite asking twice for it to be sorted out. 

The menu in Brasserie 32 is almost impossible to read as the typeface is so small!  Why? We overheard several grumbles about it. The clientele are almost all of the age where reading small print is difficult. 

A few grumbles that need fixing

First time visit to Studley. Had a great time, food good ample choices and I like being able to choose my vegetables rather getting what your given.
Entertainment fair, please to stay put at our table for the meal and the show. Plenty of National Trust properties nearby to visit.
Only downside was the poor (very small  fonted) signage for the building especially the rooms.
Path from car park needs to be surfaced, we had rain on arrival and we had to drag cases across muddy path to entrance.

Pleasant visit

The service in Brasserie 32 was extremely slow for lunch or for extra meal.  And the staff failed to 'wander' around dedpite table service only in sun lounge. The 'special' meal was not as good as the buffet Eg ice- cream melting on arrival as took 30 mins to come! Overall buffet food good. Staff friendly. Liked the calories per portion but printing too small for older eyes!
Topper for bed was another duvet... suggest that all beds issued with toppers now due to age and likely infirmity of guests..
Liked that lifts had a carpet indication in colour change. But disabled loos need more automation - doors, taps, handles etc. 

Overall an excellent stay.  Couple of issues though worth a mention. 

It is great to be pampered in spotless comfort. So many activities, wide choice of meals prepared well. Lovely building and grounds. Well appointed rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a nice atmosphere.
