I stayed here with my two kids - I thought that for the money we paid which was very little that it would be extremely basic but not at all - beds really comfortable, shower was great,  really nice room at the top. I must apologise to the owners for waking them up - my son managed to get himself locked out and woke them up - they didn’t make an issue about it at all and were absolutely lovely to us the next day. Breakfast was fab - much more than I expected and beautifully cooked. Thoroughly Recommend this place. Great stay😃

Fantastic place to stay

We chose this B and B because of the good reviews and it’s locality to the Stadium of Light(a bonus 5-0 win for the Black Cats) We received a friendly welcome from Vikki who took our order for breakfast in the morning(which was delicious). Our room was spacious with everything you needed for a  comfortable stay. Car parking was not a problem as there was security on site and on the street. 
It was excellent value for money but the hotel is a bit ‘tired’ looking?(sorry!)

Ticked all the boxes for us

Excellent place, great breakfast and even better room for us (2 adults and 2 kids). So close to the city centre as well  perfect stay. Really nice family run business, which were able to accommodate any request with little fuss.

Wow…..felt more like a 5 star hotel. Owners were lovely and polite. The family room was spacious and very comfortable for me, my partner and two boys. There was plenty of refreshments and loved that they also provided  a fridge, microwave and toaster. The breakfast was all fresh and delicious and plenty of it too. My sons loved the garden and should we stay again we will return. Thank you for a lovely stay. X x

Absolutely beautiful

A gem excellent breakfast - microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge in the room. Secure parking available and enough to the city centre to stroll into. When I go back to Sunderland I will be booking up again.

Long weekend

We only spent one night but can see why people rate it highly. Very welcoming hosts, well presented room and excellent breakfast. Secure parking was available and appreciated. An easy stroll into town.

Lovely Stay

I have stayed here a couple of times now on business trips and can not recommend it highly enough.  Vikki and Steve are excellent hosts, the whole house is spotless and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.  The icing on the cake is the full English breakfast - have one, you won’t regret it and you won’t need to have lunch. 

Comfortable and clean with an awesome breakfast.

The room was enormous and coming complete with a fridge and microwave made it more of an apartment than a hotel room.
The main bed was huge, could have slept 4 people in there alone, almost lost my other half in there ! There were a pair of bunk beds in the room also along with a two seater sofa but still the room had loads of space.

An inexpensive, spacious and comfortable Guest House.

Had a three night stay at the Acorn Guest House and had a lovely welcoming stay. The owner is very nice and helpful. We stayed in room 1 on the first night which was on the ground floor, very nice room with a renovated bathroom. Because we have a super king bed at home a double tends to feel a bit cramped for us, and once the owner knew she immediately gave us the key to room 6 which has a lovely king size bed in it. The rooms have a microwave and fridge in them and plates and utensils for you to use which is a really lovely touch. Breakfast was help yourself to fresh fruit, cereals, toast and preserves and tea or coffee as well as a lovely freshly cooked breakfast which was very tasty. I can imagine sitting in the lovely big garden in the summer would be really nice. A ten minute walk into the town centre and just a couple of minutes walk to our friends place so we will definitely be staying again.

Would highly recommend this extremely comfortable and well renovated B&B. Very welcoming hosts.
Large well equipped rooms. Delicious breakfast.
Good quiet location, ideal for Metro station.
Easy walking distance to Sunderland centre.
Would certainly stay again.
