 Absolutely amazing little place. Owners were so friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect for our little stay. Clean and tidy.
Great atmosphere.  Drinks not expensive.
Just a lovely little place all round.
Would definitely come back.


Weekend away

Had my sons christening party here in the marquee yesterday, it was lovely! Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lovely even when the doughnuts didn’t arrive they got cakes, popcorn and sweets for us instead!! Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, Kelly you’ve got a great team!! Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day!!

Great night at our friends wedding reception. The place looked fab, bar staff and manager couldn't do enough for everyone. The kids enjoyed running round the field at the back. We would definitely come back.

What a little gem of a place
Really clean, comfortable place to stay - bed was super comfy 
Breakfast really good value for money
Reasonable cost to stay 
Absolutely ideal venue rooms for birthday, weddings etc two really good sized rooms with own bars away from main pub area 
Plenty of room and seating outside with child friendly area 
Emma the manager is a little “pocket rocket” works relentlessly hard and has a smile for everyone 
The staff also so friendly and nothing too much trouble for any of them 
Can’t wait to stay again 😊

Little gem of a place 😀

The bed was comfortable, with clean bedding and towels. You can see that have tried but the bathroom needs a good clean.
I was very shocked that there wasn't any facilities for tea or coffee, you would expect for the price that there would be at least a kettle in the room.
We had to ask for a glass to use in the bathroom.
Also breakfast was at 9am which is not much good if you have to be out early.

I had an event in May at at this club, I booked the outdoor area well in advance and had been contacted on the Monday to confirm all the details so I expected all to run smoothly when I arrived.
The lady that was coming to set up my balloons contacted me at 11am saying that the venue was still not tidied up from the night before and nobody had spoke to her or even come out to begin tidying up.

I arrived at 12pm to find the marquee an absolute mess, stained chairs from the night before and the floor covered in popped balloons glitter and wrappers. My event starts at 1pm… 
The man that was there had no idea how many tables and chairs I needed, in fact he said he didn’t know my event was happening. I asked if he was going to change my chair covers and he said “most of these were put on clean last night so they won’t all need changed”. I payed £75 for those table and chairs covers for them not to all be changed?? 
Some of the girls changed the chairs but not all of them and the bows for the tables I asked for was reused from the night before. They was crinkled, Un-neat and not even tied in a bow correctly, some chairs didn’t even have bows on them. 
I helped tidy the room from the night before which I shouldn’t of had to do? I had payed for mine to be clean tidy and organised ready for my event and I come early to place my table decor and cakes but instead I ended up tidying up mess from the night before!! Absolutely awful. 
At this point it’s past 1pm and my guests begin to arrive and the marquee is still not set up yet. As you can imagine I’m stressed and frustrated as this is something I’ve paid for to be done and it isn’t.

I never addressed these issues with the staff because I needed to get my guests sat down and didn’t have time to ask questions. The floor/grass area was not tidied up, where my balloons was I had all old balloons and wrappers on the floor still which made it look a mess.
No management come out to check or to even apologise for the mix up and delay in setting up the area for my event… very poor organisation for paying customers.
After a few hours we had to come inside and ask for our food to be brought out because nobody had come out to ask if we are ready. Nobody even so much as collected a glass.. 
when the food was brought out we was missing the sausages, as I addressed when paying for the event. Which the chef confirmed they never come out, however why was I not informed that they wasn’t going to be there? I had children asking me where they was because I told them they could have some soon. 
And then more frustratingly we had NO hot food prongs. My guests was picking up hot food with their fingers which is absolutely disgusting and unhygienic. We had no cutlery or paper plates as you didn’t provide, If this wasn’t included I should have been informed that it wouldn’t be.
Luckily I’m organised and I purchased my own just incase there wasn’t enough provided, however it turned out you didn’t provide anything at all. 
By the end of the event somebody asked me to clean up the mess. Now normally I would absolutely help tidy up and I don’t mind however after the customer service we received and the fact that I had to help tidy up from the night befores party I really was not happy that somebody asked me to do this. But I still helped by clearing a few of the tables.
When we was finished and ready to leave I had to search the building for a staff member that could help me to pay for the event Which I reluctantly did. The manager informed me that I shouldn’t have used the blue powder inside as it’s smoke damage, to which I tried to explain it was NOT a cannon nor smoke it was literally just powder in a bag, I didn’t go further as she wasnt understanding but I the powder was edible powder that was child safe that I specifically purchased because of the children there.
And to be honest after the ridiculous start to my event, the fact that it started late and I had to help tidy up and strip chairs/tables. I had to ask for my food to come and didn’t even get given food prongs was a joke, to be questioned about abit of powder when the staff handled my event so poorly was very frustrating. 
I addressed the missing sausages but didn’t address all the above issues as my child was tired and I needed to hurry up and get home. 
I am writing this in hope you understand that as customer that are paying am events team to do a specific job you expect that job to be done.
I understand everyone is human and mistakes can be made, but on Saturday a few too many mistakes was made and I didn’t receive as apology from anybody in charge when they likely knew my event began late because of the poor organisation.

Awful customer service experience

Very disappointed, would rather stay in a tent outside. Hairs in the bed, windows covered in black mould, no bins in the room, people slamming doors and being noisey, stains on the blinds, shocking wifi reception, tv nearly hanging off the wall, stains on the walls, dust on surfaces, would not stay here again sorry

So I've been to many events, and parties here over the years, and i can't say I've really had a problem. But after attending an event here on Saturday I am very disappointed with how things have changed. Upon arrival we went straight to the bar to order a drink, we all paid separately and I was disgusted to be charged £7.50 for a double Jack Daniels in a tiny little plastic cup, I was flabbergasted and so were my friends after ordering their expensive drinks too, just for one shot they are charging £4.80... Also Bar staff were rude and miserable looked like they didn't want to be there, no smiles, no polite service and no manners.. There were quite a few unhappy people that night that I had spoken to that said they wouldn't be returning again. The ladies toilets were also very unclean, and wasn't even stocked up with loo roll. As a whole the reggae event we attended was brilliant and hopefully the next one they do will be somewhere a little better.... 

Extortionate and rude!!! 

I had this venue for our daughters 40th birthday party manager was nice at hiring point but turned into a bully and rude person interrupting function at every opportunity possible.
We had the front room it was like a furnace heat in it was at a level which completely does not comply with health and safety as it was too hot to stay in the room meaning most of our guests ended up standing outside.
Accomodation was substandard the beds were not quality beds and horrible to sleep on.
The whole experience felt like the manager and all the stuff around it was just trying to drive us away from the function I don’t even know why they accepted our booking because they made our life hell and were  arrogant enough to not hide it , they are the rudest people I’ve met at any venue they should not be working in hospitality.


Manager and staff are miserable and rude 

Should have stayed 2 nights but left after 1. Someone was trying to get into our room at midnight. This is not a hotel it is more like a working men's club. Food awful. No one on reception when we left. It was all locked up so couldn't ask for a refund.  This place is not what it advertiser's. No soap etc. Not even a plug for the sink. No where to hang clothes. Only a stool in the bedroom. Thin walls. Going to work on getting a refund. It is not a hotel. The only positive is the bed was clean. Never again. Have tried ringing and left messages but no-one has had the courtesy to reply. When eating the terrible food a few locals were setting up a bingo night, moving tables and chairs around us. Not even speaking to us. Left most of the food. The person in charge did not even show. Asked for refund and was told they could not give it as it was booked through bookings.com. now will chase as the place is not fit for purpose.!!!!
