We have stayed at The White Hart multiple times. When checking in, I was surprised to find that we had to pre-order our breakfasts. Also the time for breakfast was between 7 and 9am, this being a bank holiday Monday was ludicrous. We definitely would not have booked here if we had known, as check out is 11am. Previously breakfast has been later, especially on a bank holiday. When we went for breakfast, we were told they were running late because everyone showed up at 8.45am. So we had to wait. The breakfast itself was a massive disappointment. Everything was just warm except for the beans which were actually hot. The mushroom was a watery overcooked tasteless grey blob. The half a tomato was hard and tasteless. The sausage was anaemic. Tasteless bacon. The fried egg was triangular shaped and looked a mess. Our hot croissants came half way through our breakfast (I probably would not have had them, but thought we should due to the pre-order) The coffee was really awful. Our two rooms were comfortable and clean. But the whole early pre-order breakfast put a massive dampener on our stay.

Breakfast let down

Booked a room here 15th July as we were going to RIAT 23, dropped car off and went to show. Came back, checked in. Hotel room was clean and a good size. We then went into the bar for a drink, all Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent ( well done to the kitchen staff ) , one of the nicest meals out we have had in a long time. Breakfast ( plenty of choice ) is on a pre order which you hand in before 8:30pm the previous night. Arrived for breakfast and was shown to our table by a member of staff, again friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was very good, quality products used.
Only thing I could criticise is, I would of liked a small bottle of water in room but I would of bought one had I known. 
Overall would recommend if looking for a place to stay in Swindon. Excellent service by all staff.      

Excellent Service

Went for dinner last night and had the Asian Beef Salad, which was a starter on the Special’s Board. It was exceptional!!! The other dishes were also very good. Great portion size and value for money. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend anyone to go. Seating inside or out. Parking available.

We ordered a chicken breast and a chilli and rice.Both soon arrived the chicken was very small ( never a chicken breast ) my Chilli was very dry no liquid and hardly any beans or chilli taste ,again only a small portion .They have definitely cut down on portion size.It has gone down hill in my opinion  I will not be booking a family party as  usual this  year .

POOR

We really enjoyed our stay.  The rooms were large and comfortable. We had an issue with our shower, but Lucy came right over and with efficiency and a wonderful sense of humor had it in working order quickly! Hannah was also very friendly and helpful. All the employees were great, but those 2 are the ones we interacted with most. The food at the restaurant that night was also very good...especially the creme brulee.

Another lovely stay

Writing this on behalf of my nephew who stayed for a few days as we didn't have room in the house for him.   He was very happy with his room, which was quite spacious and comfortable, and he really enjoyed the English breakfasts served in the main building.   There was a lot of choice for the breakfast, he could have had more continental style.  He said the staff were very pleasant, and altogether his stay worked out very well.

We stayed here on 07/10/22 on a last minute night away, we had another great stay, the rooms are fab with a good shower.

We ate at the property in the evening and can only conclude that the prices have taken a leap up, we had a couple of drinks (pricey) and fish and chips which we both agreed were not the best, the batter was soft (more like you would get on a banana fritter) so maybe not have that again.
I will say the breakfast was fab with my only niggle being that the sausage was a little on the strong taste side for me but it was all quality produce.

Check in and out was seamless and we would probably stay here again.

As we found it

Stayed overnight Friday to Saturday on a leisure trip to the area.  
My evening meal and breakfast were both freshly cooked and extremely enjoyable.  All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.  The draught beer was well kept and several good bitters were on tap. 
My accomodation, in the seperate building just across the way, was very comfortable, clean and spacious.

Excellent in all repects

A good sized room with a king size bed and nice shower room.
Well appointed and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent and beautifully cooked.
The staff were very helpful and the girl in charge was excellent. 
All this coupled with a good price makes this a place to return to.
