What a great place to eat. Myself, my wife and both sets of parents had lunch at the Carpenters with our dog. Very dog friendly. Between us we had the Liver and onions, Steal and ale pie, one cod and chips and one Wiltshire ham egg and chips. All cooked freshly and what a joy. Everything was piping hot and cooked to perfection. Great service from the staff who made us very welcome. Friendly, caring and smiling from the beginning, what more can you ask for. The pub /restaurant is well presented and clean. Great parking as well. If you want a great meal at a sensible price this is the place to go. We will be back on numerous occasions I think. Thanks to everyone at the Carpenters for making all of us feel special.

Lunch at the Carpenters for Wills and Lewis family.

We decided to book here for my daughters 16th,as in the pass experience it’s faultless. Food was piping hot and freshly made.There were 9 different food dishes served and all came out at the same time all nice and hot.Staff have always got smiles on there faces even at busy periods.well done to all who work here ,you all work as a team that also  goes for the back of house that cooks your food to perfection and the presentation of your food is to a high standard.If you have not been here I fully recommend.

ITS A FAULTLESS EXPERIENCE

My friend & I decided to try this pub one Saturday afternoon. I hadn't seen any of the reviews prior to our visit so I didn't know what to expect. The staff are very friendly and the standard of food was reasonable. We both had  the meal deal and had an omelette which was edible - not the best I have ever had but it was ok. I did like the garlic mushrooms. I enjoyed my visit and I would consider going back again. I have eaten out at many places & I would rate it average compared to some places I have been to.

Under a previous management this pub/restaurant was exceptional. Then a lull when they left. But again with new blood in the driving seat this pub has again all the ingredients for a first class pub/restaurant. Food service and above all else quality well kept beer. I live too far away to visit frequently but I will every time I can.

A very pleasant surprise.

What an amazing Sunday lunch.  So glad we can come back after COVID .  Excellent service and friendly staff.  Compliments to the chef today and yesterday as we had a lovely 3 course meal too.

Yummy family roast dinner.

The room was standard size and lovely and clean, the bed was a comfy sleep and had no problems the breakfast was amazing however there was a slight hick up which was quickly removed after asking for no black pudding & no mushrooms enjoyed the stay over thank you very much would recommend

Staying over for a night out

Probably the best GF menu in Swindon. 

Everytime we go to the Carpenters the vegetarian, vegan and GF menu gets better and it's why we keep going back, they even have GF beer.

The staff always accommodate our requests as we even have an awkward friend that is allergic to garlic as he's a vampire, but is never a problem for the excellent chef and staff 

Probably the best GF, Vegan and vegetarian options in Swindon

We been coming here lots of times now and never been disappointed.  Always pleasant member of stuff.  Food is well cooked and compliments to the chef Louis.  Charlie  a very polite and efficient lad who served us tonight. 

Clare the manager is very good at her job very bubbly and enthusiastic.

Lovely meal as always 

First time visit for Sunday lunch,beef broccoli  carrots cabbage tasty gravy stuffing ball Yorkshire pudd and two roast potatoes,had standard size thought of going extra meat glad I didn’t as plenty on plate.
All delicious,all very hot,first class service by very nice young girl only started day before,smart friendly helpful all with a smile,
My husband allso had beef,very clean pleasant surroundings,toilets spotless will definitely return again,didn’t disappoint thank you,as definitely looking for spotlessness especially with the covid about and it was,well done excellent 👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I visited with my friend, but she'd been here before & I hadn't. 
It's a nice pub with character in South Marston, a lovely village & just off the A420 Oxford Rd, and had good parking.
Nice inside, but maybe could do with a bit of a refurb - the carpet looked a bit old & tired, but of course, that's up to the owners.
We both had steak & ale pie, very nice! 
Then both had a sponge pudding - also very nice, very hot & fresh.
Would definitely recommend a visit.
