Stayed here one night as attending a wedding.  Room not clean last customers empty rum bottle in the cupboard ..no remote for t.v..  shower cubicle shabby . Def. Will not return . £78 .for one night .£10 extra if you want breakfast .

Very poor

Stayed at this pub for a long weekend as we were at a wedding nearby. We paid £257 for a 3-night stay. Room was tiny, dated and not terribly clean. It was certainly not a nice place to get ready for a wedding - the shower was a tiny, dated cubicle with an electric shower unit. There were no useful mirrors in the bedroom either. I opened the drawer looking for a hairdryer to find the last guests rubbish, including some rotting bananas! We decided to get ready at our friends house instead! 
Our view was also far from spectacular as it was of the car park. Breakfast was not included in the price. 
We didn’t enjoy the accommodation nor spending time in the pub and in fact decided to not even stay for the third night.
There are far better places to stay and to drink/eat in Tarporley.

Too expensive 

Used the crown while staying at the mcdonald portal. Good selection of ales. Traditional country pub. Pint of Worthington 3 quid. All pints 50p off between 5 and 7. Cannot grumble. Not wheel chair friendly however. 

Pint

Stayed for one night whilst visiting family in Tarporley. First impressions of the Crown were of a traditional old pub, which I prefer. I am not a fan of the corporate, plastic type pubs, which are springing up everywhere! The lady in charge was lovely and very accommodating. Having read some previous reviews re small rooms etc I can only say that my room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate for me and had nice towels and toiletries provided. . The bedroom contained a small table and chairs and was situated near electric plugs and a mirror. This was handy for doing my hair etc. TV and local brochures, tea and coffee etc were provided.
 I sleep with the window open and though over the road had a good nights sleep. It was after midnight when we got in so I cannot comment re pub noise, it was quiet then. However, when you stay in a pub its unreasonable to expect no pub noise whatsoever? The bed was comfortable and I particularly liked the pillow. I did ask where they had bought them as for the first time in ages I didn’t wake up with a sore neck!
Its possible to have any size of breakfast you prefer from fruit juice and toast to the full English. I liked having a full teapot of tea as well!
All in all to sum up, five star its not and would probably benefit from updates but for Tarporley (where many businesses just don’t know what to charge! ) this is good value and pleasantly staffed.

Comfortable nights stay.

We stayed at The Crown for 1 night, as we were at a wedding close by. I had a brilliant night's sleep, finding the bed very comfortable. There's a lovely beer garden out in the back. Sharon was so friendly and really helped us out. The village of Tarporley was very pretty - just wish we would have had more time to explore!

Lovely place to stay

Stayed for one night in a family room. Clean and comfortable. Nice pub downstairs.  Room had plenty of space. Perfect location  for night out in Tarporley. Good size car park at the rear. Would recommend to anyone.

Perfect

Firstly I must say a BIG thank you to Sharon who from the minute we stepped into The Crown on Friday afternoon to Sunday morning when we left went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The Crown is in a quaint village which was lovely to walk round. The Crown itself is a nice old pub with a good atmosphere. The food is good with plenty of choices as is the breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed and certainly set us up for the day. The rooms were nice and cosy plus on suite with them. I found the bed comfortable and slept like a log. Our purpose for staying was my brothers wedding at the near by golf course and as we would be back to our rooms late were issued with a key to le ourselves in. Would I stay here again....yes certainly. I wish Sharon and partner all the best in making a go of The Crown and thank you Sharon for everything you did for us.

Pleasant stay

If you are offering accommodation the least you can do is provide a comfortable bed, The Crown failed at this. The mattress was clearly the cheapest available, both my husband and I could feel every spring in it. And is there a pillow shortage in Cheshire?! One pillow per guest?! Really?

We both got up feeling dreadful, having slept very little and with aching backs and necks. At least I could have a shower to make me feel better... Oh, no. That barely worked either.

We were planning to leave early, but we left an hour earlier than planned as we were awake anyway.

I begrudge every one of the 75 pounds you charged me for that room. At least put the money towards a new mattress or some more pillows so that you don't inflict pain on anyone else.
