We booked an exclusive lakeside lodge. Paid £625 for 2 nights. No 5 Lancaster Crescent. Was really disappointed with the accommodation. When we arrived, there was no welcome pack & we couldn’t workout how to work the heating. Eventually worked this out. The lodge didn’t smell very good and we put this down to the fact, that there were really bad stains on one of the sofas. We were continually spraying Air Freshener. Showers were very difficult to operate. The controls were really stiff and the water was so hot, you couldn’t shower. The temperature wouldn’t turn down. The fridge door collapsed and we therefore couldn’t use it. Lights in bedroom & bathroom stopped working. All of these issues were reported to customer services and although the lady was very sympathetic, there was no offer of any financial compensation. Wouldn’t return!

Disappointed 

I would start by saying a very pleasant stay and nowhere near as bad experience as some of the other reviews I’ve read. We had a luxury lakeside lodge and it was really nice - spacious, modern, clean and the lakeside view was very relaxing with the hot tub. We visited the pub on our first evening and we can’t fault the staff they were pleasant and helpful but we would not return based on the food - it looks nice but it less than average and that’s a real shame as the pub itself was a lovely atmosphere. The second night we are in the propellor bar and kitchen and the food was much nicer and again nice staff. The arcade is good but expensive. We didn’t end up going swimming so can’t comment on that. The shop is small and expensive if you want to get any bits in just drive ten minutes to the local co-op. The RAF base was closed for spectators and tattershall castle on a Saturday?! Or maybe as it’s winter? So we didn’t manage to try out any local attractions. We visited the Local Bubble car museum instead which was cheap but nothing spectacular just someone’s car collection in their garage but was still something to do but probably a bit boring for children but some good vintage collections of cars and other items. The hot tub with our lodge was lovely and clean and warm. The entertainment on the park itself was lacking - nothing on an evening for the kids eg a children’s disco - just a pantomime that you had to pay extra for! So we didn’t bother. Also wasn’t too impressed with the entertainment for the children in the morning. Can’t comment on the fish takeaway on site either as didn’t eat there. Overall the staff were very pleasant and based on our accommodation alone we would return as excellent value for money but the park itself could do with an update on the entertainment and food. 

Pleasant stay and lovely accommodation

We stayed at number 3 castle view lodge, which overlooked the lake. The lake could hardly be seen as the bushes & trees are not trimmed back, otherwise would be a nice view. The lodge was comfortable & warm. Just a few things that could be thought about are some crockery was left dirty in the cupboard, no spatula or milk jug & instructions on how to use the fan oven would be helpful. A shower mat would have been helpful. Lastly there should be bleach used in the toilets as they were quite black at the bottom. Overall the cleaning could be better. Yes the Wi-Fi is slow but it is free & you can pay for faster. Tattershall  Lakes country park is convenient for places of interest  to go to & have things to do on the park.                                                                                                             

Lodge at castle view

Tattershall Lakes - Tribeca, November 2023. Booked the Tribeca as it was a birthday treat for my wife and it looked great on website. However,lets be clear - if participants on 4 in a Bed stayed here they would find fault - lots of dust on skirting boards and blinds, cobweb in bathroom. And why oh why is a broom provided but no dustpan to sweep crumbs and dust into? This could be SO much better with attention to detail - for example, hooks in the bathroom to hang your dressing gown, a shelf in the shower to put your shower gel etc, instructions on how the heating works (none provided), lights around the outside path that actually work (many dont) and instructions on how the hot tub works - when we arrived two hosepipes were filling hot tub and a big filter had been left on steps. Not very encouraging. That said, we did enjoy our stay - why visitors complain about the noise coming from the jets at RAF Conningsby is beyond me. It does make it clear on Away Resorts website that the site is very close and there will be some noise at times. And the planes that flew over were indeed noisy but its a great spectacle to watch and its by no means all the time. Only used some of facilities - pool looked far too small for such a big site, bars and restaurants were typical of a holiday park. Christmas show in big top was brilliant - some of the female singers are wasted performing here. So overall it was an OK stay - some parts good, some parts need improving (the road around the site for example in places is in a terrible state) but with a little attention to detail  as mentioned above this would be a great place to stay.

Good but could be so much better

The most disgusting noisy place I've ever visited.  My partner warned me about the planes, she'd been twice before.  What she didn't warn me about was the mean eating area was like Battersea dogs home.

1-2 tables under every table, shaking in terror or wandering around under tables of other people eating scraps.

Caravan rented directly from park was a dump, we were greeted to old bedding and towels on the floor outside the van with no welcome pack or towels.

Caravan itself was a filthy disgusting mess, and if it wasn't so cold I'd have slept in the car.  See photos... Yes that's pee all over your towel warmer in the bathroom....disgusting.

The main area was the only place to eat with huge queue and also the kids "entertainment".  Awful.  No fancy dress no Halloween decorations up and it turns out the Halloween stuff happened the previous week???? What!

The entertainment was garbage, 7:15 should have been the spook squad , nope still baby stuff playing and our mindlessly bored 6yo wanted to cleave, and I was still being mad from seeing so many dogs with paws on the table I agree to finish the perfectly disgusting food and leave.

The arcade was a bigger joke...oh lord, scamming with nothing in the 2p machines... Got to Butlins and you're walking out with bags full of stuff after 10/15quid.

Awful.

Won't be returning.  I hate Butlins but at least there's tonnes of stuff for the kids to do at Butlins and literally nothing here.

Abysmal.
