Jazz, Tom and Alice were all fantastic servers. Attentive and friendly. 

To top it off. The food was superb. Hot roast with lots of trimmings and Yorkshire puds were top notch. 

All round this pub has great service alongside great food and we’ll def be back.

This pub is the best in Romsey

What a gem of a place!  We stayed here on Friday 15 March before setting sail the next day to the Isle of Wight.  The rooms are absolutely amazing, spotlessly clean, had everything you need plus luxury extras including Gin and Tonic, tea, coffee, chocolates, even Gin and Tonic! all complimentary.   They really have made use of the space and its rooms are well though out.  We had dinner in the restaurant on the evening and this was also nice. We weren't able to stay for breakfast sadly as had to be out early but I am sure would have been just as good.   

When we come back to visit Portsmouth we will definitely book another night.

Brilliant Stay

Great service, lovely food! A couple of delicious vegan options. The staff were really kind; Luke and Tom were really attentive and looked after us really well all afternoon. A great spot to eat after a long walk in the forest. We’ll definitely be back soon!

An amazing post-walk stop!

After a long weekend at the Cromwell Arms in November, we were back tonight for Valentine's. Another great visit, staff attentive and food really good. We went for the chateaubriand for two which was cooked perfectly. We will be back again soon.

A great return visit to this gem of a pub

The pub itself was very clean and  welcoming as were the staff who were excellent despite being slightly low on numbers due to illness. We were very nicely looked after by both Clara and Danni and the Club Sandwich I had was probably the best ever both in terms of food quality and presentation- all in all a most enjoyable lunchtime.

Excellent Lunchtime Venue

Absolutely wonderful first anniversary! The service was wonderful and Katie, assistant manager was outstanding. Friendly and helpful, we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend this pub and we will definitely come again. The accommodation is also wonderful. Clean, luxurious and very reasonably priced.

Fabulous place. You must come here!

We held our wedding reception here on 5th August. From start to finish nothing was too much effort. They took everything in hand and our day was perfect.  Food was great, 
marquee ideal despite the apocalyptic weather!  Massive thank you to Danni, Emma and the team for being truly wonderful! 

Perfect wedding!

From arriving late on the Friday night,  we were welcomed by happy and friendly staff and we got settled in our room for 3. Staff had popped a 3rd bed into our room to help keep friends together and our cost down. We had a few drinks in the bar and nothing was too much trouble at all,  even finding milk for one of our groups to take home with him!
The room was comfy with a great view of a babbling brook and a selection of coffee and teas.
The breakfast was fabulous, with a choice of hot meals and  additional extras of toast, cereals, fruit and pastries to choose from. 
The marquee for the wedding venue was in the grounds and it was well catered and the staff remained friendly and happy throughout the whole event, making it incredibly special. Their attention to detail was incredible.
Another great breakfast set us up for the journey home, and the 11 am check out was really appreciated.
A special mention needs to go to Danni, who seemed to be working 24 hours a day over the 3 days we were there. She  always had a smile and a kind word,  and she ensured we had everything we needed and that we were OK. It made a top notch stay,  extra special and was really appreciated.  We'll stay again when visiting friends in the area.  Thank you so much.

Disappointing stay Thought it was overpriced and service was mediocre Had a meal in restaurant once in a 3 night stay Was expecting more for price paid Thought room was basic would think twice about staying again Not impressed by full English Good buffet choice of breakfast but left a lot of cooked Tried other options but not impressed Sorry

Located in picturesque Romsey, close to river walk. Also within walking reach to town center. Fully featured vat and restaurant, do you don't have to go anywhere. Many extra bits in room including snacks, espresso. But TV and free wi-fi amongst others. Can be quite during week
