This is the loveliest guesthouse and Richard and Gaynor are the nicest people. We stayed for 3 days and wished it was longer.  The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and super comfy bed.  Breakfast was cooked fresh and hot. Richard was so helpful with tips of where to go and to see.  However get come back one day.

You must stay here

We have just had a week's holiday at the Gainsborough. Returning home 15th sep 2023. Richard, and Gaynor are lovely people, who displays friendliness, and charm. Their B&B is absolutly beautifull. It is spotless, and the decor is a credit to them. Our room was situated at the front, and had tea/coffee facilities. The bed was amazing, lovely and comfy, and spotless. I would not hesitate recommending anyone to visit this B& B You will certainly get a very warm welcome. Oh, and by the way, the Breakfast was cooked by Richard, and was spot on, red hot. The garden at the front was beatifull. It is definitely worth 5 stars .Well done Richard and Gaynor. Hope to see you again next year, God willing. Oh, and the train station and sea front are 3/4minutes from the Guest house.

Holiday

Ideal location for Torquay town centre,  there is parking at the  b&b, the accommodation is well maintained, lovely & clean,  Richard & Gaynor we’re excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble, would highly recommend staying at this b&b when visiting Torquay

The owners Gaynor and Richard are warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, the guest house is clean, fresh and well presented. Breakfast was hot and delicious, we would not think twice about a return visit x

Gainsboro Guest House a must if in Torquay!

I have stayed at this Guest House twice and it is a pleasure to stay.  As a party of 4 we had 2 rooms.  We couldn't find fault in either room, and last year was no different.  The beds are comfortable and there is also a tea and coffee available in the room.  The location is great, close to the train station and only a short walk to Torquay centre.  There is also the beautiful village of Cockington a nice leisurely stroll away.  Breakfast can't be faulted, one of the best I have ever had whilst staying in a hotel.   Cooked for when you are ready and served hot each day.  The hosts Richard and Gaynor are very pleasant and attentive.  I had to change my plans a couple of times and they were very helpful to us in doing this even at short notice.  I can highly recommend staying at this beautiful Guest House.  

Staying in the second room was also a lovely experience, the room was clean when we arrived and was stocked with things such as blankets, shampoo, bodywash, and a hairdryer; we were able to get any extra items such as towels quite easily. The wi-fi and signal was also great which made the stay even more pleasurable. Furthermore the breakfast service was lovely to have and had a great range of choices which you could choose between pre-meal each day.

Highly Recommended, we had a wonderful relaxed and comfortable stay in this Beautiful B&B in Torquay. Hosted by the Lovely owners Richard & Gaynor who gave us some great recommendations on where we may like to visit. This is a stunning part of the country. Home from Home 🏡😊

Relaxed and Friendly

Wonderful stay @ Gainsboro Torquay. Excellent accommodation, perfect location, fantastic hosts. Highly recommend for a stay in Torquay. Easy access to town/ Harbour area, great places to eat,drink & wander around.

Perfect B&B

Our 2nd visit to the Gainsboro, Fabulous room ,with  lovely friendly hosts Gaynor & Richard, pretty garden & parking. A short 15 minutes walk to Torquay Harbour along the seafront 😎. We are chilled out & We hope to be back again soon.

Fabulous 2nd stay!

our second time staying at the gainsboro and just as nice as our first
gaynor and richard are just the perfect hosts
the breakfast was so tasty again really sets you up for the day ahead
we did a bit more traveling this time the train station is 3 or 4 minutes walk away and we went to dartmouth on the steam train then across the river into town 
weather was a bit miserable so took shelter in a pub and had a couple of drinks 
can think of worse things to do while its raining
great night out in torquay again and all in all another lovely weekend away
the gainsboro is really good value for money and well worth a visit

Another lovely stay

This was our second visit to the Gainsboro Guest House and both times have been excellent. The Guest House is perfectly positioned, close to the beach front and a short stroll from the town centre. There's also a train station a few minutes walk away. 

The room was spotless and had water, tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits which was a nice touch.

Breakfast was pre ordered by way of a tick sheet and was filling and absolutely delicious.

Richard and Gaynor couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay.

We wouldn't hesitate to go back again!
