From the moment we arrived at Whitburn guest house, joe and Anne made us feel so welcome. They are so friendly and would go above and beyond for anyone. They made our little boy feel at home too. Joe went out of his way to write down all the aeroplanes that were taking part in Torbay air show on our first morning there and told us the best place to see them in Torquay, what a fantastic day that was. We will defiantly be returning and will certainly recommend them to any wishing to stay. 
Can't wait to return in the autumn.

Amazing friendly place to stay

We were warmly welcomed by Jo and Ann. The room was spotless and was cleaned everyday. My mum is coeliac and her dietary requirements were meet without any problems.  Fantastic place to stay and cant wait to go back.

Brilliant and friendly place to stay

Background to us staying at this guest house...At the start of July I had been ill and 3 days before we were due to fly out to turkey I was advised to cancel the holiday on doctors orders (not good idea to be in foreign country ill, I needed the nhs services).

In order to try and rectify the abandoned holiday and try to appease our 14 year old who was bitterly disappointed as were we, we found this pleasant guest house online.  I decided to ring them as wanted to speak to them direct and get a vibe on the place.  I spoke with both Anne and joe who are a lovely friendly couple, we booked for a week and asked if we could extend by a further day or two if funds allowed.  They confirmed if they had space then it would not be a problem just let them know in good time of our plans.  If they were full and we definitely wanted an extra day then they would be prepared to assist in finding another guest house.  In the end we did not have any additional days due to funds unfortunately.

Upon paying for the holiday we received a confirmation email for the payment that evening. The following day we received paperwork in the post.

Upon arrival in Torquay at the accommodation we were given a lovely welcome by both Anne and joe.  We were shown to our room and our private bathroom (unfortunately not en-suite), I was worried but needn't have been.  They offered us fresh milk on arrival to make hot drinks in the room, it was a lovely touch.  They replenish the tea, coffee and sugar every day, they leave a chocolate biscuit also.  They provide fresh milk on an afternoon and evening.

They even accommodated my odd request of having a bucket in the room in case I was taken ill, (luckily it was not needed).

They were very informative on the local area, attractions etc.  We had a lovely holiday and went on a lot of trips.

Breakfast was lovely and cooked by joe. There were fruit, cereals, yogurt, toast and a cooked breakfast if wanted, all in the price of the accommodation.

Will definitely return in the future.

Small, friendly place to stay

Welcomed warmly by Joe and Anne who were great hosts with loads of knowledge and info of the area and what's going on.  Breakfast was lovely and set us up nicely for the day.  Great location and felt so relaxed and comfortable in our family room,  would recommend to anyone and was surprisingly reasonably priced considering the time of year!  Thanks Joe and Anne.

Home from home 

What a fab place to stay. We were warmly welcomed like old friends. Nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was really good and hot. The fresh milk being supplied in a jug was a lovely touch, such a refreshing change. Room was huge in comparison to many places I've stayed, spotlessly clean with more than adequate toiletries and beverages. Will definitely stay here again.
