We stayed on Easter Saturday. Upon arrival, expecting the two pre booked basic rooms, we were all given an upgrade ~ to apartments 201 & 103 respectively. We enjoyed everything. The lovely staff, the fabulous cocktails, and the inclusive continental breakfast. Parking is secure & good value. I've only marked a 4 instead of a 5 because there was a fan noise of some sort in our apartment (201). Only noticeable when you try to sleep. We tried to find the source but could not. I wonder has it been mentioned previously? Otherwise all superb.

Always excellent! So we always return!

If you're attending an event at the Hall for Cornwall, then you won't get any better than staying here. It's literally a one minute walk to the venue. Our stay over two night included free parking in their private carpark, and when you realise the extortionate price of Truro car park's this in itself was a Bargain! 
Our welcome was warm and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Our room on the 3rd floor was roomy, clean and warm. The large bed was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed two nights of very pleasant sleep. Breakfast was included with fresh juices, cereal and continental cold meat and cheese with a selection of bread being included. You could pay extra for a number of cooked options, but the free offerings was more than enough and included very nice Cornish Tea or coffee. Again, the service was efficient and friendly, and we would definitely recommend Manning's as a brilliant base for your stay in Truro. Should we journey to see another show at the Hall for Cornwall, we would not hesitate in booking another stay here. Thank you.

A warm welcome and very pleasant stay

Stayed at The Mannings in Truro and had a very nice, comfortable stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and for the price, veery nice indeed. The bed was exceptional and the bathroom was equally as impressive. The bar and restaurant were fabulous and the food delicious. We will certainly stay there again as it was the perfect base.

Wonderful Mannings in fabulous Truro

Unfortunately only a City room was available for our one night stay at £125 rather than a standard double at £100. I can’t help but wonder what the City room criteria offers but this was a very standard room probably slightly smaller than average.  The outlook from the room could hardly have been worse, 3 walls of pebble dash concrete buildings with views of air conditioning units and a painted ashphalt roof of a building below. We had been naïvely thinking ‘city’ might have meant some kind of view of the city of Truro! We were attending an event at Hall for Cornwall and hoped to have a quick drink beforehand but service was slow and drinks were not served at the bar you have to order at bar and wait until they could get round to bringing them for you; frustrating. The city room issue left us feeling ripped off and would not use again. Only one packet of crisps left and we ordered some bread and oil - only the bread was brought over with plates/cutlery or oil!

Disappointing

From checking in to checking out, a warm and friendly welcome from every member of staff, coupled with spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms ensures a comfortable stay in all respects. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for any of the hotel team who are friendly, courteous and genuinely keen to ensure their guests have an enjoyable visit. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal prior to our attending an event in the City, a good night's sleep with a nice, fresh and varied 'Continental spread' for breakfast (although Full English is available if required at additional cost), coupled with a friendly welcome and faultless service by the breakfast staff. Having stayed in many different hotels over the years I can honestly state, hand on heart, this has to be one of, if not the best. The hospitality industry is a tough trade to be in these days so I'm a firm believer in giving credit where it's due. We have stayed at Mannings on several occasions now and the standards never waiver. For us, the only place to stay when in the area.

Outstanding

Came in here for Moroccan Monday lunch. Three different reasonably priced dishes were more than enough for the two of us. Great food and superb friendly service. We were told that it was the last themed lunch of the year but nevertheless I strongly recommend this place!!

Great Monday lunch!!

We spent 2 days with Mannings Hotel on our 1st trip to Truro.  The whole experience was 1st class.
The staff were so friendly, professional and helpful. 
The food was superb and freshly cooked when ordered.
The whole atmosphere was happy. We will not hesitate to recommend. 


Pleasure

We used to live in Truro and we came back to attend a wedding, Mannings always had a good reputation and we’d eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed it in the past so we thought we’d give it a go. The location is great with parking on site and on arrival the staff were friendly and the communal areas really nicely presented. Unfortunately that’s were the good points ended. The room was very tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment, the bathroom was also poor, the shower mixer tap fell apart in my hand when I tried to use it. At almost £140 for the night I’d expect better than freeze dried coffee in the room. Breakfast was poor, I like a continental breakfast but if that’s what you’re offering it need to be good and a few hunks of ham and some bland cheddar doesn’t really cut it.

Overall I’d say these guys are trading on a reputation they don’t live be up too and getting away with it because the options in Truro are limited.

Disappointing & not good value for money.

The room was rusty and the bed stanked. The sleeping suit could no longer be worn for the rest of the trip. Moreover, the Asian-looking service force in the restaurant area was unfriendly and unattended. The reception was ok. The breakfast included in the price is extremely rudimentary. The extra dinner to be paid for was delicious. Moreover, the free parking is a plus.

We're not coming back.

The reputation of Mannings is really good in the area, so we were excited to be staying…. The reception area is nice, the receptionist at check in was very friendly. We went into the room and I expected more than what we saw. The double bed was tiny, the furniture basic, the shower (over bath) was small and not great pressure, the carpet looked old and warn and the floorboards dipped in places, the room smelled a bit of what we thought was the previous male guest’s deodorant, the bedding looked clean but didn’t have that freshly laundered smell. There was a desk fan but the room was sweltering hot all night, we opened the window (took some doing, it’s not obvious that they can be opened) but there was no air at all, it was much cooler outside than in. There was nothing that was ‘contemporary’ as the website says. The room and bathroom were all very clean though. The bar was tiny and we couldn’t get a seat unless we sat in the restaurant side so we went somewhere else for a drink. We weren’t asked on check out if we had a good stay etc. the location is fab and the car park is great, but I do have to say I felt very underwhelmed by the room and stay, it was very basic and I had expected much more from somewhere with such a good reputation.
