This was our second visit to Chycara. The first time we stayed at the Lake Lodge and this time at the Willow Lodge. What fabulous lodges, fully equipped, clean, spacious and in a fantastic setting within acres of beautiful woodland and gardens. Each setting is private and so relaxing and calming. The bubbling sounds from the waterfalls and streams are relaxing. A truly wonderful place to stay. The gardens are well maintained but still so natural. I would recommend the heated indoor pool, so warm and we were able to book it so we had it to ourselves. We also took advantage of using the Flotation Room and having massages on site by Georgie. I've never had a flotation treatment before but it was amazing and it was the best massage I've ever had.
Chycara is an exceptional place. Highly recommended. We will definitely visit again.

Very enjoyable one night stay, very peaceful and exactly what I needed- a bit of piece and quiet.

I will be sure to be back again when I need to escape the stresses of work for 24 hours.

Didn’t get to use the facilities but all look pleasant and clean. Will try them next time.

We stayed in the Shepherds Hut which is situated in a lovely setting.  It has a seating area outside to sit and enjoy the garden and listen to the babbling stream ( you can hear the stream babbling at night ) . The hut itself is very comfortable, modern and bright with a good hot shower.   The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and on hand when needed.

Relaxing and quaint 

Wow! This place is just beautiful. We stayed in lake lodge it had everything you need with stunning views of the lake and garden. It’s a short drive to Truro and under an hour from Eden project. The surroundings make this the prefect escape after a long day visiting all the beauty of Cornwall 

Just prefect 

I just wanted to thank Rob and all the team at Chycara for making sure my daughter had the most wonderful wedding day on March 25th, despite some pretty challenging weather! From the first visit onwards Rob has been unfailingly helpful, friendly and completely on top of everything however laid back he may appear.  It's a beautiful wedding venue and the Chycara team make sure everything runs smoothly.  Despite the heavy, intense rain throughout the day we received so many positive comments about the wedding venue that none of the guests mentioned the weather at all!  Also, the accommodation in Willow Lodge was way beyond my expectations.  Everything about the design, decor, furniture and supplies was excellent. I just wished I'd had a chance to relax and enjoy it all properly.

Wonderful Wedding Venue with Beautiful Accommodation

Stayed for 2 nights in the Shepards lodge, I stayed by myself while away on business.  The lodge was  very clean and had everything I required.  Set in quiet grounds with a stream running next to the cabin, great for a quiet evening after work for me.
I would highly recommend, I would also consider returning with my family if in the area again.

I also visited one of the recommended pubs within the brochure which was also offered very nice food and service.

Great Lodge

Superb lodge in tranquil surroundings. Very clean and modern with everything you would expect for a self catering experience. Excellent swimming pool which was time slotted for peace of mind to have it to yourself. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. Thanks for a great stay.

Superb.... Highly Recommend.

Stayed for 3 nights at the Shepherd's Lodge, was our first time staying at Chycara and we absolutely loved it. Lodge was clean and had great facilities, lovely and so peaceful with beautiful surrounding gardens and pond. Great location too that wasn't far from Truro. Really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely go bavk again, thank you! 

Stunning place

I am rating this place a 3 for the fact that for the past 3 days that I have been here our air con unit, in the Hidden Hut, has been making a HORRENDOUS, crunching noise. After notify the main office on the first night, a very nice gentle came up and took a look,  heard the noises, then proceeded to tell us that it would be looked at and fixed the next day. This never happened…they explained to us that they had been in here during the day and had it on for an hour and apparently the noises never happened…which I find very odd considering you put it on, 10 minutes later the noises start! I have got videos of these noises, and their telling me it didn’t happen…strange! Overall, the location is perfect, the Hidden Hut is clean and provides most of the things you need…just the customer service to fixing issues is poor.

So much was good about this place - Oak Lodge was sumptuous with loads of indoor and outdoor space including a TV at the end of the bath. The lodge is very private and it was a shame that we didn't get to use much of the outside space due to the weather. I did however feel that the main bedroom didn't live up to the rest of the accommodation and my sleep was disturbed by the noisy boiler attached to the wall next to me. Also the bathroom fan stayed on for ages whether you'd used the shower or not. I also felt that there needed to be information in the folder about how to use the oven, fire and heating. We had no contact  with the owners at all despite me leaving a message on their phone to say we'd arrived. It's very difficult to get to, despite instructions as the narrow country roads are a bit hairy especially when you return in the dark and you have to be careful negotiating the site as they have put large boulders on the corners. All of these are small things that stopped me giving 5 stars, but make no mistake the accommodation is excellent.
